With everyone feeling the stress of not knowing if they should leave the house, go get your hair done or if you should be looking for a salon that the staff wear hazmat suits here is a few facts which might help you decide!
First one is hairdryers, it’s been a few months and you want a blowout, well like everyone there is always things we miss and a good salon probably won’t be doing blowouts with it without a cut because it enhances the airflow throughout the salon, pushes air from you to others without any way to protect other clients, staff or anyone else in the space. Check here we decided to follow international advice and are not doing blowouts to make sure we are all safe.
Hazmat suits and face shields well as there is various thoughts on this and a lot without any evidence other than to visually freak you out but not in fact doing anything. We have seen some salons staff dressed in hazmat suits happily doing blowouts which is in fact counter productive and possibly troublesome. Clothes don’t carry the virus so there is no need to wear a hazmat suit More evidence
Now face shields, this is to protect the wearer more than anyone else, given the fact that the only part of the body is exposed is the eyes it protects the wearer from airborn particles that could be blown in. Now if everyone is wearing a mask and the area is sanitized and the airflow is controlled it’s highly unlikely that you need to wear it. More here
Now what we are doing is no blow drying, all staff and clients wearing masks at all times, temperature checks of team plus clients prior to entering, no coffee tea or water served and every area sanitised between clients. Limiting salon to only 2 clients spaced several metres apart at any time, no one allowed into salon unless appointment, no deliveries into salon during working hours and only using electronic payments. No cash!
We understand we all are feeling nervous and stressed about going out into a new space and so are we. We are happy to explain more over the phone and answer any questions you have. Whilst life must go on, it has to be safely done.
