So second time around veteran of color Awoka went steel grey and it’s looking awesome!
It’s become a color high in demand so we wanted to share a few things with you so you can make the right decision if this is for you or just a phase. Although nothing is permanent, it grows out and if you wait long enough you may just end up totally grey anyway right so what’s stopping you!
What’s involved and can I do it myself at home?
That’s kind of like asking a chef give me the recipe I want to make this at home right?! Even if we gave you a step by step it’s hardly something that years of training would could match up too that’s why it’s always a better result to get it done professionally.
Firstly it needs to be lightened to the most pale white blonde and depending on the exact shade of the result toned to give the final result. Now blonde colors are endless, rose blonde, Sandy blonde, ash blonde, Snow White, ash blonde, dirty blonde and the lost could go on and on hence it is completely subjective.
If your thinking about going dramatic we suggest seeking professional advice, whilst it’s not cheap, to get even close to what your heart wants requires patience and skill, often several applications of color and change of plans depending on the results in real time.
How do you keep it this time?
Now here is the interesting part considering the water quality varies in every part of the world the tone can fade fairly fast so you need to take proper care. Use a sulfate free shampoo, always condition. A toning shampoo ( purple which counteracts the gold or yellow pigments ) can be used every second day to keep it perfect. Get the right advice and always get the hairstylist to show your there work before you take the plunge!
Products we use and recommend are Alfa Parf Milano!
