It has come to our Attention that a lot of people don’t condition their hair because it makes their scalp oily, If you are one of these people you have been using the conditioner ALL WRONG!
Before you get your knickers in a twist let us explain, calm down!
Sure we hear you, you like your hair full and when you use conditioner it goes flat, well you have been using it the wrong way, a conditioner is for the hair!
When you shampoo your hair, you open the cuticle ( the outer layer of your hair that protects the moisture and structure of the hair ) and when you condition, this closes the cuticle, basic right, yes it is. When you open the cuticle, you must close it. If you find the conditioner is making your scalp oily there is a few things that are a possibility
- You are putting conditioner on the scalp which is not needed, its for the hair!
- You are using a conditioner that is too thick or heavy, try using a lighter conditioner or even a leave in serum which will close the cuticle.
If you leave the cuticle open what will happen anyway right, well your hair will be dehydrated, you are more prone to split ends, it will be full of static, the ends will become thin from the breakage and you will most likely look like an over loved Barbie doll purchased from a thrift store.
There is many ways to get fullness other than avoiding the basics, there is no shortcut to having the right hair other than V lining it to us!
