No secret that 2020 has had its challenges and if we are honest Hair isn’t the worst thing that has or could have happened. But now it’s become aware that some instead of growing length, it’s reducing. We have in the last few months seen more amount of hair than ever, some going from long to short, dramatic changes and some holding on to death life the length they have.
Split ends happen for a few reasons, excessive heat when styling, over processed chemical treatments, blunt scissors when you last had it cut, lack of regular trims.
The ends split as the centre hair structure is left exposed and is prone to being damaged over time. If it’s regularly trimmed then any fragile ends are removed and giving it a fresh lease of life!
Can you remove split ends with product? NO
The only thing that removes a split end is a pair of scissors, your hair should be trimmed regardless of what your hair goal is, every 6-8 weeks. If not you could end up with multiple splits which will eventually break off and you will end up loosing length not gaining it. The split keeps travelling up the hair shaft until it breaks off, then a new one appears and so you end up with shorter hair over time!
You have heard of high Maintainence people but can you imagine spending this much on your hair?
It has to be made up for sure right? This urban myth is actually a reality for a select few and the surprising break up will shock you and wonder why you have been doing your hair in salons like you have been!
So how can anyone spend that much a month on hair?
Here is the breakup
Accommodation $ 734
Hair color 3 times $927
Haircuts twice $320
That is without charging for the 4am boarding charter flights or the 1am touch up’s before heading home for the day! So plus between 60-120% on outcall rates then add additional hours whilst the hairstylist is outside the salon.
Sure sounds fancy but when you consider the actual hair cost is fairly low, so if you own a hotel and have a private plane then it’s really a nominal amount that can keep you locked up inside your home and get everyone to come to you!
Not sure about you guys but we are ok to head to the salon whenever there is time, also happy to wait until when appointments are available.
If you think it’s just a few that live like this, you are grossly misinformed! This is not a privilege of rare few celebrities it is in fact more common that you think.
The term “hair loss” is such a subjective term and brings up all kinds of thoughts and emotions. Having hair fall out is part of the cycle of hair growth and can not be stopped all together. Every human will have approximately 100 hairs fall out a day as it’s come to the end of the growth cycle ( known as the Telogen phase )
To understand this better there are three stages of hair growth, anagen, catagen and the final stage telogen begore it all starts again called Exogen stage or the resting stage begore new hair appears.
The Anagen stage is where the hair grows and this stage typically lasts anywhere from 2-7 years depending on your body and make up. Then the Catagen stage which lasts around 10 days where the hair follicle shrinks and detached from the papilla or root. Then comes the resting stage called Telogen where the hair sits while the new hair develops and pushes out the old hair and the cycle repeats.
Stay with me, it will all make sense!
With the entire world on lockdown and the threat of being infected with corona virus, jobs lost, employment uncertainty and the stress of family and friends and all of our future our body is producing more Cortisol ( also known as the stress hormone or the fight or flight hormone ) which in turn pushes the hair into the Telogen stage faster than it would normally. The increase production of this hormone also gives us less quality sleep, mood swings, muscle soreness, less flexibility, rapid weight gain, high blood pressure and a flushed face!
All in all the thought that the stress is making your hair fall out is in fact partly true! The best way to deal with this is to manage your stress levels, good nutrition, realistic and consistent sleep patterns, meditation and in extreme situations you may need to seek medical assistance. Also please see Other reasons you could be having excessive hair fall
It’s been a lot to take in and we still need to all get through the other side, so chill and do what you can and don’t stress for what you can’t do.
Our hair holds a lot of weight in emotional value and it’s not a new thought. For years after a breakup or sudden trauma a lot turn to a drastic change to help deal with things and can often be looked at like you are loosing your mind but has a huge relief for most.
Famously Britney Spears back in 2007 walked into a salon in the middle of a divorce and struggling with many personal demons and shaved her hair off. Some would say it’s extreme while others look at it as incredibly liberating. Whilst some psychologist like Rebecca Newman based in Philadelphia says it gives you an immediate boost of Oxytocin which is more commonly known as the “cuddle hormone” which is released by the pituitary gland. This hormone immediately makes you feel good and is similar to a good hug, a romp in the sack or the feeling of love.
We have seen over the years men and woman coming in after a personal trauma getting a drastic new look and loving it months later but at times we talk in-depth about the decision and find that it may need some more thought and a day or two for the to be sure.
In varies movies after a tragedy or trauma many will go drastic to shed the outer self and create a stronger exterior like Jodie Foster in “The Accused” or Deb from the the 1995 “Empire” shaves her head to be seen and become visible. It’s a very personal experience with everyone wanting to do it for various reasons.
So far 2020 has been anything but relaxing we have all had a lot of trauma and stress no matter how you look at it or who you are so increased hairfall is incredibly common right now along with a lot of people taking the opportunity to change the way they look. After all why not!
It doesn’t have to be a break up, a tragedy or something specific but it’s important to get the right advice and have your hairstylist get you in the right headspace to create something you love and won’t be wanting to grow out moments after you leave the salon!
Very few are taking holidays and let’s face it, the thought of heading away sounds great, it also sounds traumatic! Get your dose of OXYTOCIN free with every haircut
The task of going from dark to pastel colors is one that is shadowed in mystery and hidden agenda. We have tried to make things straight forward for you so taking the decision more informed.
Firstly it’s not a “quick” process nor is it cheap but we will tell you it can be stunning if done right! Going platinum is not a quick task and can take Months
Our co founder Merrylin wanted a pink egirl fade so we took the challenge. Her hair hadn’t been coloured for years so it was completely natural.
We only did two sections from the top of the ear to the corner of her bangs. It was lightened from roots to ends for approx 35 min, rinsed and dried then re applied leaving our roots for another 30 minutes. We then wanted to let the hair rest for a few days and the swelling on the cuticle layer to subside.
The condition was great so we toned it lightly adding a soft ash gold to take the raw look off it. The few days rest would ensure the hair is not going to be damaged.
But we want to have a pastel color so we need to remove all the warmth out of the hair, putting the pink over it begore the toner above would not have given us a clean color. Fading the pink to white would have been a fairy tale. So away we went after 3 days and re lightened it leaving out the roots for another 30 minutes. We rinsed blast dried it and applied the pink fade and here is the result.
The pink is intense and the roots and fades towards the ends and we think it looks hot! Maintenance is simply refreshing the pink every 10-12 washes and the blonde will grow out which will add to the effect and most likely we won’t do. Let’s see!
For many around the world, the idea of working from home sounds great but completely useless if you are in the service industry, there appears like not a lot you can do from home. It’s a great time to get fit, learn something online or think of ways to pivot your business for the future.
We are blessed to meet some people who have used this time to actually start businesses and are booming! We had one client who has started an Indian snack business and has now 20 staff and small factory, a friend launched a healthy smoothie bowl business and is booming now. The stories are widespread and teaches us to think outside the box. There are opportunities right now that most can’t be bothered or simply don’t know how too take advantage of.
I know boredom and anxiety set in from day one for most including us, the thought of indefinite lockdown was daunting. Eleven weeks indoors in the end with restriction of movement limited to buying food and that’s it. We spent hours every day creating content for our website that was relevant for now and maintained interaction with our clients via Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp.
We had 321% increase in web traffic which in return we all know that means more business, more visibility and entertained us at the same time. Two months later we have maintained the traction and have inevitably changed the course of our business. through smart planning and a little research a lot things can be done or learnt in your underwear from the couch, bed or in front of the TV
Before you find excuses look for solutions and a way to make the current situation a positive. If you need help or ideas reach out to a friend or a company and ask for help, now is not the time to watch re-runs of friends or your favourite 90’s sitcoms.
You want a haircut and you want it done right so who do you choose? The ones that claim to be the best? The biggest? The most luxurious salon in Delhi? Do you choose the salon that has the most locations? The one that has the most services? The salon that has the most celebrity clients?
Let’s be honest, it’s not that easy. It’s a matter of finding a salon & stylist that gets you, understands the language you speak, your ideas and your vision for your hair and you can talk freely with. It’s not about the awards, it’s not about how many “outlets” they have or the celebrity clients, it never has been! It’s about the personal skills along with the technical skills. You need both, not just one.
The best way to find that salon is start with the internet, look at the website and see if it’s about selling multiple services, packages, discounts or if it’s about hair, styles new ideas thoughts colors etc. you will instantly get the vibe if it’s for you or not!
Getting the right hairstyle for you that works is all about getting the right information and making the right choices. Then obviously getting the right professional to execute it. Your Faceshape is unique and perfect so stop searching for ways to change it, it’s a matter of creating the right shape, texture and color for you.
From colouring certain sections lighter or darker you can change the appearance of your face or take attention away from an area you don’t overly like. Changing something like the part changes how the eye views the overall image. It’s not about deception, it’s about creating the right illusion that best fits you!
Now whilst this is not foolproof and combination face shapes are not only possibly but are very likely on most people. If in doubt as to what works and what could enhance your overall look, book yourself in for a consultation with us.
With not a lot going on socially we have all had time to think of a color or a look that we want, possibly even filling up our saved images on Instagram. It’s a good time to reflect and refine what works, what doesn’t and how much effort you honestly want to put into Maintainence.
Hair color can be high maintenance but it can be done so it’s incredibly low Maintainence too. Getting it right can be tricky depending on your expectations and since you have time on your hands it might be a good idea to check out the options.
A solid color grows out with a solid regrowth, making it obvious you color your hair even after a week in some cases days depending on your natural color and the color you do.
Now balayagè can be high Maintainence too if you not carful, options are amazing but again depending on how often you want to keep visiting the salon and your budget it can be overwhelming.
A blended version that is low Maintainence leaves you regrowth free and able to not worry about your hair for months, other than your regular 6-8 week trims and is super sexy.
So if you think you’re up for a change why not do it!
Yes to make life easier we have started consultations via FaceTime or WhatsApp. So if you are unsure about what to do with your hair without having to come in and have a lengthy conversation about it, considering the anxiety behind stepping out maybe this is ideal time to discuss your next color or cut whilst sitting at home.
Trouble knowing what’s right but you’re bored then getting advise without stepping out of the house!
Give us a call on 01141010011 and we can schedule a consultation with you!
Appointments and times vary depending on availability.
Well this year has been one for the books that’s for sure! whilst we have all had time to reflect and let’s be honest there are better things to do that spend useless time in the bathroom pushing and pulling your hair into place. We believe Hair should compliment your overall look and lifestyle not over consume you.
How do you get your hair to be more natural? Well it all starts with the right cut, creating texture or encouraging the right ease of movement happens with the cut. Creating the right texture to enhance and control the curl or movement of the hair happens when you cut it.
What products should you use? Well ideally very few, if the cut is correct for your hair then very little product is needed. Saying that a little help can go a long way, a leave in serum, a moisturiser may be all that is needed depending on your hair.
What is a low maintenance hair color? Balayagè is perfect for super low Maintainence and ease of growing out, blended and only 3-4 shade variation is perfect.
If you have high maintenance hair and are over it, book yourself in and tell us what you currently do and what you would ideally want to do and we can create something that works specifically for your hair and lifestyle.
So the rain is here, well kind of once it makes up it’s mind and the humidity has kicked in. Time for your sexy crisp curl to go for a toss and hello to frizz!
Well let’s try and help, some know these already and some may not so hope they help!
#1 DON’T DO
Don’t brush your hair dry, comb with a wide tooth comb with your conditioner in then don’t brush it or comb it again. It will cause electricity build up in the hair, creating static and frizz!
#2 DON’T DO
Avoid any product with alcohol in it, typically setting products like gels or mouse was the alcohol dehydrates the hair.
#3 DON’T DO
Don’t get out of the shower and shake your head like a German Shepard, it’s only going to make it go crazy frizzy, once the conditioner is rinsed off you need to handle with care, pat dry don’t rub or shake at all! Do not put your head upside down and shake it.
#4 DON’T DO
Don’t put oil on your hair or scalp, oil and water don’t mix so no matter what you will be left with a residue which will amplify heat causing your hair to look shinny but in fact become frizzy and brittle. Use water soluable products, your hair is craving moisture
#5 DON’T DO
Don’t skip appointments to get your hair trimmed, you should be trimming it every 6-8 weeks to remove split ends.
What is a safe distance and how can we get back to normal when it seems like it’s out of control? You are not alone, we all have a fear of being around others let alone sitting or being amongst a crowd!
While we don’t have this dreamlike aesthetic we limited the people that are allowed into our space so no one feels like anyone else is there. We have a limit of two people at any time but offer one at a time ( subject to availability on request ) to ensure you feel comfortable while getting your hair done.
Let’s all be safe, no mask no entry and it must stay on 100% of the time in the salon. If you want to take a selfie please do it with the mask on 😷 the main goal is to get your hair done safely for everyone so you look and feel more normal.
We reduced our opening hours to Tuesday – Saturday 10-5pm so please call or DM for bookings as no walk in bookings are entertained.
You are all too busy to live, we have heard all the horror stories about the new work mode a lot of you are doing to survive. It’s hard, whilst on one hand we need to work harder than ever and yet on the other hand we need to look after ourselves more than we ever have!
Putting your hair up in a topknot doesn’t count as self care, it’s a time saver for sure and l guess but it doesn’t help you look or feel good about yourself. It’s a struggle to make time to shampoo conditioner and even to attempt a blow out is almost out of the question.
A quick fix which may help is washing your hair and putting it up damp, comb through with a wide tooth comb apply one or two drops of serum and a leave in moisturiser (if needed) twist it up and tie it off with band once the calls are over or later in the day take it out and you will have a soft bend texture which can make you feel more you.
Another option is doing the same thing but braiding it and letting it dry with the braids.
Right now the thought of sitting in a salon to make your hair look good seems useless and to be honest a tad odd. We have never had a weekly blowout culture nor have been involved in producing work that needs a lot of effort to style. It’s just not realistic today to think that anyone has time to sit and get a blow out every few days.
The cut is the framework that will support the shape. It’s not just cutting it dry it goes well beyond that, the direction of the blade when cutting to the angle the blade enters the hair to the tension the hair is held. Creating or encouraging movement that minimises time spend in front of the mirror is what we believe is beautiful hair.
We reopened on the 3rd June after being closed for 11 weeks, various amount of apprehension which is normal and did various run through scenario’s on hygiene until we all were happy and felt safe, for both the team as well as the clients.
We have only maximum of two clients in the salon at any time, with a sanitize break to ensure proper swab down of all touch points, no cash only card with no one touching your card or machine, it’s covered each time in cling film and sprayed down. If you wish to be the only person in the salon please request that when booking and we will do our best to offer you a suitable time for that, however these slots are limited.
No drinks, coffee or food allowed in the salon and no one to enter unless you are getting your hair done. The front door is locked and upon arrival ( as long as it is the set time ) we let you in, check temperature, sanitise your hands and drop any bags at reception. We temperature check everyone including our team before entry.
We are not doing blow dry’s because it pushes the air around in the salon too much and whilst we are a safe zone, we feel safer not risking any element of infection. For colors we provide disposable face masks which can be changed prior to entering or in the washroom.
We limit any small talk face to face ( even with mask on ) and consult from over 1.5 metres away and all changes in hairstyle we request to connect on FaceTime prior to your appointment so we can chat and see your face without a mask while you are at home.
Yes it’s a lot to take in, we know but safety of our team and you is paramount and if we have to change down a gear or two and be extra careful then that’s what we all must do. If you have any request or question please don’t hesitate to ask as we all know it’s a stressful time.
We do look forward to seeing you and apart from fresh hair it fills our heart to see you and help you feel fresh and happy ❤️
Ok so let’s be honest it’s hardly the time to wonder the streets, go window shopping or go sit in a salon for hours on end without a certain level of stress and anxiety kicking in. We know that and want to spell out a few things to put your mind at rest.
Firstly we are not blow drying currently due to the air getting pushed all throughout the salon and disturbing air flow ( makes sense ) so right there you cut 10-15 minutes off your “in salon” time. Consultations for changes are done over the phone or via video prior to you coming in so there is less talk more action once you get here.
There is always small talk and catch up that we need because we have been part of your life and quite frankly we have been dying to know what happened to your cousin who was dating her bosses ex father in law. Don’t worry we will make time for that, we are multi skilled.
We have limited people in the salon at any moment with the door locked so there is zero distractions and it’s a safe place so we can’t wait to see you. Whilst we are not parkour artists we know you want to see us but also want to be back home safely.
Not sure about everyone else but heading back to work is hard! Partly given the fact that we all just enjoyed the longest holiday of our lives and slept, ate whenever we felt like it with little care of times or routine.
Well we understood that’s why we have reduced our hours, we open 10-5pm now at the moment to make sure the work-life balance transition is easier for us all. A tired hairdresser is not a happy hairdresser. We can accommodate early morning bookings if you prefer with advance requests being subject to availability.
Stay healthy and rested to make sure you do not get run down both physically and mentally.
With everyone feeling the stress of not knowing if they should leave the house, go get your hair done or if you should be looking for a salon that the staff wear hazmat suits here is a few facts which might help you decide!
First one is hairdryers, it’s been a few months and you want a blowout, well like everyone there is always things we miss and a good salon probably won’t be doing blowouts with it without a cut because it enhances the airflow throughout the salon, pushes air from you to others without any way to protect other clients, staff or anyone else in the space. Check here we decided to follow international advice and are not doing blowouts to make sure we are all safe.
Hazmat suits and face shields well as there is various thoughts on this and a lot without any evidence other than to visually freak you out but not in fact doing anything. We have seen some salons staff dressed in hazmat suits happily doing blowouts which is in fact counter productive and possibly troublesome. Clothes don’t carry the virus so there is no need to wear a hazmat suit More evidence
Now face shields, this is to protect the wearer more than anyone else, given the fact that the only part of the body is exposed is the eyes it protects the wearer from airborn particles that could be blown in. Now if everyone is wearing a mask and the area is sanitized and the airflow is controlled it’s highly unlikely that you need to wear it. More here
Now what we are doing is no blow drying, all staff and clients wearing masks at all times, temperature checks of team plus clients prior to entering, no coffee tea or water served and every area sanitised between clients. Limiting salon to only 2 clients spaced several metres apart at any time, no one allowed into salon unless appointment, no deliveries into salon during working hours and only using electronic payments. No cash!
We understand we all are feeling nervous and stressed about going out into a new space and so are we. We are happy to explain more over the phone and answer any questions you have. Whilst life must go on, it has to be safely done.
Don’t know about everyone else but waking up is hard, looking at my reflection asking myself how, why and a list of so many questions and wondering how can I get through each day. Well it starts with smaller steps I guess and do things that make you feel good.
Things will get better, this will end and your dreams will come true it’s just a moment in time!
So if your hair is annoying you or you simply are bored with your hair then get yourself something fresh! We are open and ready to make sure it’s not only a safe experience but you walk out feeling and looking better!
At the time of writing this we simply don’t have clarity if we are opening on 1st June or not and whilst we all can speculate we can not give you clarity right now. One thing is for sure just like you we can not wait for the salon to open up and start safely seeing people again! We have all struggled with various parts of life and it’s been hard for many. While we sit indoors, many don’t have a home or food to eat. It’s hard but it’s harder for many more!
Does the stress of your hair deserve the attention you are giving it? Does it really matter than much? Hair doesn’t define you, that is simply not true, it’s your personality that is you, the thing that people remember not your amazing beach waves or the way it moves in the wind. Although once we are all open and out again you are more than welcome to think like that but it’s not true.
If your hair has grown out, it’s a constant stress every morning since this lockdown started then why are you waiting any longer? Why not shave it off? Doesn’t have to be bald, can just be short, it’s freedom from the stress of what to do with it and one less thing to give power too!
Many men and woman have shaved their head and gone from long hair to incredibly short hair and it looks hot!
Check these ones out with before and after shaving their hair off!
If Natalie Portman above can look better with no hair then we all have a chance!
What about Sigourney Weaver in this classic!? She actually looks younger with no hair!
We already hair you saying you don’t have the face for it, so go Check this out and find out if you can do it or not. Keep in mind if you are always wearing it off your face or in a pony tail then chances are it won’t look much different even shaved!
You like the simpler things in life, the odd beer or 6 after work every single night and love ordering momo’s to be delivered. Some say you were lazy but you have convinced yourself it’s called evolved. Either way things are going to change and can’t go back to the way they were to suit you!
Whilst you have googled “how to make beer at home” and there are still the odd place delivering fast food it’s your hair that is screaming out to you when you look in the mirror every day. How can you make your hair look good during the lockdown?!
Well no easy answer, should you be cutting it yourself, by now your natural color is well and truly more visible than ever before so there is no hiding it’s not naturally black anymore! Deal with it
Should you get someone home? Is there a hairstylist you know you can ask to risk the law and life to come make you look good? Chances are you do know someone but it’s the most stupid thing you could do!
Some will say that they will only have people come to their house now they won’t leave but the biggest problem with that is the person you are inviting over has had more exposure outside than the people inside the salon. The salon is cleaned constantly, every single person is wearing masks and no one is randomly wondering around to strangers homes. It’s not safe to have people entering your house and it’s not safe for the person you are asking to do it! Let alone legal. If you want to be the first on the list once we know the date Click here but will not be doing house calls
We don’t do house calls, we will not be doing house calls because we value our health and the health of our team. Stay patient we will open soon!
We are sure you are as stressed as the next and hair can be such a mood creator, can set you on a high and make you feel like anything is possible! Am I right?
Well we don’t have a date other than the 17th as yet but given the support we have had we thought we should spell out what will happen once we do open.
THERE IS A WAY TO BE ON THE FIRST IN LIST
It’s as simple as pre paying your next visit with us, drop an email to us and follow the instructions and you won’t miss out. Currently we have already had people on the list who have supported us during the shutdown and locked in their booking. You also get 20% off! No one will be on the list other than people who have opted for this FYI
These are the only people that will have priority for the first few days or week. First in best dressed so to speak.
It’s been a while since salons were open and unless you were getting a trim the day we closed then it’s about time your hair needed trimming. Hair grows approx 1-1.5 inches per month which means it’s 6 weeks since we were closed so that’s a little over 2 inches since you saw the light of day.
It’s frustrating we know but there are so many things that can go wrong, sure if it’s bothering you that much, go right ahead and do whatever you need too in order to not go insane. We will deal with it once we are open, you will look back and have a good laugh too no doubt. If you are after “how to cut bangs” look at our Instagram stories we have got a few tips there for you. Guys we have the same so check it out, if you need help give us a shout! It’s only hair, it grows back.
So many guys are complaint about their hair and wondering how they are going to survive but have forgotten about the shrubs down south in the garden, the bush or the short and curlies. Sure this isn’t a salon job, it’s not like your going to book yourself in for some balayagè and a pube trim right! So this is something that you should be managing yourself regardless of lockdown!
The Art of Man Scaping
Now not going to guide you, but caution on using anything too sharp or doing this via any DIY YouTube in fact good luck trying to find one. Maybe you could “free ball” it pardon the pun. Regardless of the tools you use, this is a gentle reminder that you need to trim and maintain the garden of Eden.
No please don’t ask us for style suggestions, it’s funny but just not cool.
It’s true that there are simple things you can do to make most things in life, a positive! However there are limitations to the advice you get or the way you interpret it. Depends on who you ask as to the reply you will get, it’s really that basic. If you ask a doctor a medical question, the reply will be based on facts, if you ask your mum it could be based on who knows what! If you listen to some smart powerful people recently you will hear drinking bleech is good for you and could be interesting. IT WILL KILL YOU! Medical advice comes only from doctors so our advice is said with limited knowledge please do your own research.
Staying positive and having a healthy mind while being safely at home is super important and even though it can be incredibly challenging depending on where you are and who happens to be sharing your space. Getting enough sunlight or sunshine is important because it’s medically proven to assist in both Mental Health as well as your Helping your body but like anything it’s best to do your own research and know what is right and what is wrong. I know that sitting on our terrace in both direct and non direct sunlight while working out or having chai has been a saving grace and incredibly positive.
Don’t stay out on your balcony all day, that isn’t ideal unless in fact you have a urinal installed, in which case is kind of weird but you do you!
Creating daily habits are a great way to ensure you don’t fall into a heap! If it’s getting too much reach out to a friend or inbox us. We are happy to just talk if that’s what you need! Stay positive and stay healthy.
Like most of us you have spent the last 4-6 weeks grazing like a wildebeest during the great migration trying to stack on meat for the starving months ahead. Well I guess 7 meals a day isn’t a good idea to maintain a good waistline but in my own defence it sure as hell feels good!
Aloo puri for breakfast followed by an omelette and my third chai followed by some fresh juice and fruit. A short sprint to the shower then it’s time for a sweet treat, maybe some banana bread, god knows we all have gone a little crazy with making that! A little downtime watching Netflix, while nibbling on some dried potato ( also know as chips ). A quick work out to the balcony, doing laps back and fro then time to rehydrate. You can have anything fizzy that’s got sugar, the more the better! A little chocolate is also ok.
Now a little more Netflix, snacks and time to think about lunch, maybe something fried….anything cocked in oil is great! Follow it down with fluid because all those blogs talk about hydrate hydrate hydrate so go for it!
Downtime, a little stretching while going to and from the kitchen. Important to note that warm up and cool down is important or you may pull a muscle.
Time to search for dinner recipes without getting sidetracked on all those quizzes ( turns out if I was a dog I would be a Doberman and my porn star name is Socksie turtle, that’s an entire different conversation ) ok time to cook, which is exercise in itself.
Netflix after dinner and finished the day off with some dried fruit in coco ( also known as fruit and nut chocolate)
It’s gone from eat everything I’m craving and wash it down with booze to I couldn’t be bothered now sitting somewhere between so hungry I would eat anything to can’t be bothered to eat. Sounds familiar?
Decided to reduce intake as the temptation to graze all day is real so better to reduce overall intake but honestly not going out of my way. If it brings you joy, eat it! If it makes you happy for even a minute do it. Your waistline will come back, your hair will look hot again and the world will continue to revolve. Chill out but make sure there is some element of healthy eating going on while in lockdown to keep your immune system functioning and giving you the best chance to fight off any illness.
Obviously if you are looking for a diet that will increase your hair growth or make your hair healthier the easiest way to have that is by eating a balanced overall diet. Yes possibly TV frozen meals or pre packaged foods are not on that list so will require a bit more work, you have the time to invest in it right now so why not!

This quiz will determine the bread personality you are!
Seems like suddenly everyone is a chef and expert on bread making so here is a little quiz to determine what type of bread you are!
The Sour Dough
Your the type of person who would be happy to be the life of the party then suddenly disappear when it looks like it’s heading past your bedtime. You enjoy reading self help books and often quote motivational quotes as captions on your Instagram whilst dressed in your night clothes before going back to bed at 11am. You drink fresh juice but you order it online because you’re lazy. You have a lot of opinion and a lot to say but when you get past the crunch, there isn’t much to say you keep things to yourself, after all why bother with certain people right! A wild imagination with a huge appetite to travel and explore! you would post your loaf making on stories and do a proper setup for an actual post telling everyone you casually made this. Cool on social media but in real life, is this the same person?
The Multi Grainer
You think of yourself as a doer, you know so much it’s honestly a tad scary, you know fitness and health hence you choose to have some flecks of healthy looking things in your bread! You don’t mind telling everyone you workout, in fact you probable post it every chance you get #fitness or #detox life! You are the one that knows better and isn’t afraid to tell your friends whatever they are doing is wrong, honestly it’s true you know better! Doesn’t matter what you put on it, with dark flecks of healthy bits in it, this bread is life! Typically posting with Avocado and an egg with a sprinkle of chilli flakes. You are a weekend Vegan, you like to think of yourself as a “save the animals” but in private you eat anything that has legs but only post your vegan life #plantbased
The Right Said Fred White Bread
Firstly you probably won’t get that, google it! You couldn’t give a toss about the style of bread because your a risk taker, you don’t have time to choose life is short! You most likely don’t even have an Instagram account and most likely still only check twitter and retweet political stories because, well your an intellect and honestly instagram is for cats and pets isn’t it? Good luck to you, bless your sweet little heart, go toast your fluffy white boring toast with a little marmalade because that’s they way you have eaten it for the last decade! You are a creature of habit and will only sleep on a certain side of the bed! But hey you tell it like it is, so you’re cool
For you size matters, your life is a show! Get those OOTD photos at any cost, possibly living the big life but just on the gram! You have a lot to say but when you meet others, your personality and mouth are on lockdown. You talk a big game, often with little or no idea what you are talking about, full of couch advice and haven’t left your city since….well ever! Ideally you would eat it cut diagonally with some pre made dip and some imported cheese. After all you need to appear wise! #instalife
The World Has Gone Banana’s
Now you are the one true hero of not only the kitchen but possibly have the traits to save the planet you know your way around the kitchen but also love to mix things up and are ok if you don’t have all the ingredients. You are flexible and love being around people. You will be posting at an alarming rate images from your kitchen right now and loving the DM’s in fact that’s the food you really enjoy, self praise is like yeast and you kneed it to rise above the rest. After all you are not only a fitness, lifestyle planner you could literally do anything and it would work. #loafoftheday
Now whilst this information is 87.62% accurate you can be a combination of a few. A good few of you have been posting your kitchen success stories and god bless you for that, please for the love of god stop! Enough we don’t kneed it!
Whilst a lot of people want to give you “to do lists” of things you should be doing while we are all safely inside, it really doesn’t matter what you do or don’t do. Eat what you want, sleep when you sleep but most importantly be happy with what you have. This is possibly the only time in your life that you will be confined to your house, unless you do something wrong and get put on house arrest!
Try and look for the positives and that doesn’t have to be cleaning your house, baking bread or going live on Instagram! but if that makes you happy do that too.
Try and refrain from TikTok and baking bread and constantly sharing! Going live is a huge no no. Ok rest you do you.
Why not spread love and happiness? Go to random accounts on Instagram and share positive messages, imagine how that could make someone’s day! We will be spending an hour a day doing that exact thing ✌🏻💕
By now you probably have spent more time styling your own hair than you have in the last 12 months and it’s only week 2 ( or is it 3? Not sure lost count ). Anyway you can finally see it for what it is, the good, the bad and the ugly but one thing we think a lot of you will realise is what we have been saying for years!
Your natural movement, texture, bend or call it curl is actually beautiful and only needs tweaking with the cut for you to be able to manage it and let it loose in public! Sure it may be desperate for a trim, the ends must be split by now and this may cause the finished look to be a little frizzy but that’s ok.
I guess we all want what we don’t have and if you have curly hair you want it smooth, if you have flat hair you want it full and that’s one of the reasons we are in business ( well not now ). Making the most of what you have is a message that we all have to live with right now being confined to our house, lucky to have a roof over our head and food in the fridge and a phone and Internet to even read this. Truly blessed to have life itself.
So once this is over and we are all out maybe we can all live a little more free and instead of wishing our lives away wanting to try to fit in, we can be more free and enhance the hair we have rather than push and pull it into a direction that isn’t sustainable. Be the best version of you
By about now most guys with short hair will be needing a haircut and possibly looking like a something more reminiscent of a zombie movie so what do you do?
Well it would be nice if in a few short words we could teach you to cut every hairstyle ever done or teach you the tricks that took years to learn. What we can suggest is that if you can’t wait then why not shave it off? Certainly isn’t the end of the world, it’s summer coming anyway so it may be a good change, hair grows back!
If you think you should still try a DIY haircut then check these beauties out!
So if you are smart you will wait a little longer and we will all be back to normal!
We keep getting asked for various tips on how to do this or that while in the corona virus lockdown. To be honest I don’t have the products at home to color anyone’s hair pink purple or brown let alone think anyone else that doesn’t do hair would. The best thing to do to get through this lockdown with your hair is nothing. The option is either leave it or shave it off completely, relax hair grows back!
What better time do you need to do something drastic? You can dress it up with various masks and designs and guess what? You don’t have to go out in public for weeks so not anxiety when people gasp or freak out and end up offering an opinion.

If you decide to leave it make sure you have our details saved for when we reopen!
For some it’s been a few days for most it’s been a few weeks and whilst we know you are more than likely looking radiant, rested and have applied every face pack that you had in the house. The reality is, by now or in a few days from now your natural color will be shinning through in all its glory, that together with your face mask your phone is possibly not recognising you all the time. It starts like this, few days later Alexa will think your an intruder so it’s time to act now before it’s too late!
We suggest you do absolutely nothing because fixing a bad color ( not saying you won’t do a good job ) can cost double the amount it should! Wait relax less going live on Instagram unless the camera is facing away. Turn off the facial recognition and Chill it won’t be that long!
So you have been home 10 days or more for some, it’s no surprise you most likely have now become a high pony kinda girl and that’s ok. What we need to remember with our hair is that the growth won’t stop no matter where you are, however your scalp needs to be maintained in order to create the right conditions for healthy growth.
Washing your hair daily is ok if you use a gentle shampoo ( one that is free of SLS and always condition the ends. It’s not the washing that should scare you off doing it daily it’s the heat abuse you do afterwards that will do the damage if you over do it! Healthy scalp grows healthy hair so don’t shy away from washing it because by not, it could be creating more problems like hair loss, dry scalp, bacterial infections and bad hygiene!
A lot of us yes us have easily slipped into becoming couch potatoes and whilst it feels good to be able to have this eratic relaxed way of life, it’s not productive nor good for our mental health.
It’s been over a week we have been on lockdown in India it’s now time to fire up the engines and start getting your fire back. It’s time to get a routine that’s encouraging to bring out the best in you for you! If your struggling with lack of interaction then get on the phone and call 10-15 friends and ask them how they are doing, call your family, call your workmates and say hi. It’s not about talking negative about the situation it’s about lifting us all up! Stay positive and stay focused the comeback is going to be sweet!
If you are thinking about a haircut then maybe Read this
Now in India you have all grown up being told oiling you’re hair makes it healthy, grow faster, thicker etc etc and every now and then you wonder why it feels dry still, well here is why!
The hair once it leaves the body is dead keratin and it’s not alive it’s dead, the growing part of your hair is under the skin and is feed by what’s inside your body with small elements of the growth subject to the outside world. The dead keratin ( or commonly called your hair ) can last longer looking better if we treat it the right way, so far so good and makes sense!
Now once the hair exists the body it has internal moisture on the inside and an outside layer that opens and shuts called the cuticle ( think fish scales overlapping each other ) if they are open the internal moisture gets sucked out by heat damage, pollution, chemicals, coloring incorrectly, Sun, wrong products and neglect and the list goes on.
Using oil to get a head massage you relax ( awesome ) but you maybe have forgotten oil and water don’t mix right? So what happens is even if you wash it out 1-2 times directly afterwards there are small oil particles left in the cracks and in between the cuticle. Over time more is there and with heat from the sun, our body and/or heat from styling they get sealed on the hair eventually coating it completely like glue.
Then what happens is that the internal moisture evaporates from the hair pulling the oil coating tighter onto the cuticle, making it tight suffocating the hair. At this point you have super shinny hair and are most likely convinced your hair is super healthy, the reality is far from that. The oil layer is making your hair look shinny yes, your hair is actually brittle, dry and extremely fragile.
Don’t believe us? Try getting a small amount of hair in between your fingers and rubbing it together. Hear that rough sound like sandpaper? It’s the rough coating over the cuticle.
What do you do instead of oil I hear you asking?
Well firstly oil doesn’t need a replacement as it’s not needed or desired for healthy hair firstly so relax you don’t need to replace it with anything. You do however need shampoo followed by a conditioner and if your hair is brittle maybe a leave in conditioner and a moisturiser.
When these things were used or started it was a different time, the world was different we didn’t have the Developement with products or science to know better. We do now and we know that it is not what your hair needs. If you still can’t survive without a weekly oil massage replace oil with conditioner you will thank later.
After a few weeks of washing your hands and using 70%+ hand sanitizer you, just like the rest of us are feeling like we have the hands of a 300 year old caveman. Relax it’s a good sign that you actually listen and are following what we should be doing, it’s also a reminder that years ago you needed help remembering!
Moisturise 3-4 times a day, your welcome!
Looking forward to having the salon open and getting back to doing what we love.
There is not one person on the planet who colors their hair that isn’t wondering what they will do, let’s be honest there is a lot more to worry about but who doesn’t want to feel good while being in quarantine! You may be tempted to try a DIY to cover up the grey or the darker regrowth but don’t!
Headed to the chemist yesterday and saw the entire shop was emptied out and the area for box color was empty which shocked me. If you color your hair at home, it can be too dark and you will end up having to do it more often than if you just waited. If you think you are going to do some highlights or go lighter, things will turn ugly really fast! The cost to color in a salon is more expensive than a DIY color true but fixing your disaster ( color correction ) can cost double or triple than the original color. It may not even be able to be fixed! Just wait, we will be open one day and when that day comes we will be ready for you!
We know the current situation with Corona Virus is scary, we are all worried, we need to remain calm. Whilst we have stepped up our sanitation within the salon as well as between clients we have been asked if we can offer early or after hours bookings. For those of you who would prefer to come in when there is no one else in the salon we do offer this and have done for a long time, but now it seems more appropriate than before.
If you would like to come in before we open for the general public we can arrange this only via PRIOR APPOINTMENT. Conditions apply
We also STRONGLY request if you are not feeling 100% well, show any signs of sickness that you do not visit the salon until you are well.
We are all human and have families and infection can spread to people we all care about that may or may not be able to cope as well as others. Hair can wait, life is short let’s get through this calmly and with respect to everyone. ❤️
Our main focus is hair and we continue to be a safe place for everyone and wish for everyone to respect that. We reserve the right of refusal of service and/or entry to anyone whom we feel may not have everyone’s best interest in mind.
Don’t you love that there is a day for everything, a certain day to acknowledge this or that and in fact some people need it as a reminder to make that effort to be nice or say thanks to the people they love!? Crazy right. The world without women would not exist but it would also be a very sad place. We would like to thank the woman in our life for being the driving force for who we are, the values we stand for, the people we are, the people we strive to be, the standard we keep, the love they give, the role models they are, the patience they have, the perseverance, the stable strength of character, the love and support, for turning the other cheek, for not letting things slide, for calling us out, for not putting up with less, for finding things in front of us, for remembering things from 1994, for holding on tight, for letting go, caring if we are sad, not caring if we are sad, for waking up early, to sleeping in late, for having children, for not having children, for speaking your mind, for putting your foot down, for saying no it’s not ok, for raising the bar, for entering the bar, for making the effort, for being lazy and for being the better sex than us but pretending it’s not a big deal!
Happy woman’s day to every single woman! Thank you for everything you do, put up with and endure. We love each of you!
What you put in, you get back and it’s not just food and your body we are talking about. There is no end to this principle the more you put into things the more you get back. Garbage in garbage out it’s really that simple, you can not surround yourself with idiots and expect to be exceptional just like you can’t eat fast food and expect to be 100% healthy!
Gluten free haircuts are haircuts that work, they don’t require blowdry daily, they are architecturally put together for ease of styling and require little or no fuss! They come with full instructions and little maintenance!
Not everyone has luscious thick healthy hair, in fact very few do but it’s about making it appear like you do. We all know people and maybe we all are guilty of portraying a different version of reality than what is most real. The truth is we all want to look the best we can do a little trick here and there isn’t going to hurt anyone!
Whilst we have grown up thinking the more you get the better the value for money but in reality it doesn’t always work that way, in fact with hair it’s about quality over quantity. You wouldn’t cut more off just because the price was high to get your monies worth or add more color just because it seemed like it’s free?
To add fullness or the illusion of more hair you add subtle variations of color with balayagè and you create depth within the hair, therefore it looks like you have more hair than you do. It won’t work the same if you end up going cray cray because you want your auntie to see it, it won’t look the same and in fact will have the opposite effect.
We specialise in colouring hair and happy to chat about your options.
It’s 2020 and to be honest to put life into perspective it’s crazy that anyone would be stressed about how structured the curl is sitting when they don’t get a blowout. It is what it is and it’s ok if that’s on your priority lift because it’s what we do, so chill.
A blowout is not going to destroy your hair if don’t correctly and there are no other factors ( excessive color, lack of regular trims etc ) but wouldn’t it be nice to be able to just wash and go?
Imagine all the free time you had? Imagine the extra money in your hand if you didn’t rush to the hair salon every few days because you have two left hands. Well honestly it’s not that much of a stretch, natural movement and curly hair has not had a better rap than it does now, it’s fresh hot and if managed well can be super sexy.
Controlling the hair is the challenge but what we find is that a lot of the time, you have the right products & tools but you simply are using them wrong. You end up with frizzy hair that looks more like you just woke up than someone who did your hair.
First thing you need to do is get it cut correctly, now there is no amount of words or explanation that can explain this enough but if you have split ends or fractured cuticles your hair will end up frizzy! Regular trims to remove these is what you need, every 6-8 weeks!
Second is how you treat it, if you have a friend or love one that simply takes takes takes, it’s not long before you switch off and end up pushing them away. Your hair needs to be treated gently, the more you touch it or flip it around it WILL go frizzy no matter what! It may look cute to flip hair from side to side in your head, in reality you just look crazy!
Product and application. It’s amount placement and how it gets there, do not overload, do not play with it and always always add moisture.
Want hands on help, call or drop in and see us, we don’t want to see you for a blowout every few days we want you to be able to manage it yourself!
If you go to a supermarket to buy bread, the ones that’s about to go stale is always on sale, it’s discounted simply because it’s shelf life is shorter! There are two very obvious ways to look at discounts and that is product vs service. If you have a product and shop for the best price then you have very few problems that can go wrong, it’s the same product or brand you are just looking for the cheapest!
If you want to buy discount medicine the first question you would ask yourself ( or should be ) is this Medicean actually ok! Looking for a cheap doctor, one that can give you a great deal on your upcoming surgery? Makes no sense right, you wouldn’t want to get your surgery done during a “Happy Hour” or 50% off it’s simply crazy!
Similarly searching for the cheapest salon or a “deal” won’t get you want you need to be happy, it rarely does in fact it can end up costing you more money to fix your hair than it would have cost to get it done right in the first place!
Often salons advertise heavy discounts but by the time you leave you have ended up spending a lot more than you thought.
So for all those people wanting to know our price list, we don’t give quotes over the phone on colors bavasir it’s so subjective and we need to see your hair and talk face to face yo give you a ball park figure. Nothing more embarrassing than thinking it’s x but turns out to be xyz.
We encourage our clients to ask about price, it’s normal. Once you have had a chat with us ask the price, if you are happy to do it then we are good to go, if not it’s ok too.
You know when you want to change up your look and have spent hours, weeks and even months planning out your new look then finally researching which salon to go too, save the money and take the plunge. You do it and it’s everything you wanted and more, beautiful hair and you feel fresh and alive, then your DF friends tell you they liked it the other way.
Like really? Thanks for not telling me till I changed it. Like seriously
For those of you with a fresh color or cut, maintaining it can be scary especially if you are as clueless as we fear you may be, it’s ok even though we explained it while doing your hair then again at the end it can take a few try’s to get the hang of it. It’s ok practise makes perfect.
While we put a lot of effort into talking about your hair before we do it, we like to think that what we create you can do it yourself daily with the tools and skills we showed you when you were in.
If you are struggling, even if it’s not our cut then drop in and see how we can help.
Like seriously there has been generations that grew up with terrible haircuts, low self esteem handed down clothes, no internet, no takeaway, no brands, no encouragement no positive words or no equality in the family unit. No fancy birthday presents no fancy holidays, no pocket money, no advice, no therapy sessions, no Netflix, no phones and no salon visits and yet here we are!
Some kids got haircuts from Mum after dinner on a Friday night in a dark bathroom !
If you are like a lot of people you possibly have no idea which face shape you have and what is the perfect hairstyle for you! Don’t panic help us here, it’s not fool proof however this should give you a guide to get closer to what will work for you and your unique face. There are other factors apart from just face shape you need to think about like the Hair color or getting some Face framing color can alter the illusion of the shape of the face.
Whatever face shape you have you have to take the outer shape of your hair that you are creating and imagine that that’s now your face-shape and that has to be flattering, for example. Round you have a round face-shape and you have a really short Bob then guess what, you look rounder and fuller in the face. You should aim to stretch out the shape and have slightly longer hair.
If you have a square face-shape and you have a short cropped flattop haircut then your head may end up looking like a box!
Now whilst an oval face is open to almost any hairstyle we all need to be aware of other factors, like facial hair and hairlines. If you have an oval or rectangular face-shape and a high hairline this is NOT the haircut for you!
You might be saying, who on earth would wear hair like this, well this is possibly the most common asked for haircut. It makes the front of your head look stretched out, your forehead look 37% bigger and suddenly your nose looks abnormally longer. Add a little growth on your chin and now you look completely face tuned!
Getting the right advice and walking through options from a professional is the best way to make sure you know what you are doing. No one has a bad shape head, it maybe just a few small changes to your hair that make all the difference. Could be fading the hairline in at the back so your neck doesn’t look fat or adding slight sideburns on to add width to a round face.
If you are looking for the best hair salon in Delhi, check us out we specialise in only hair!
Come have a free consultation with us and find out how we can help or give us a call on 01141010011
Anyone who has caught a bus or seen the way busses drive in Delhi will know that it is likely that in order to survive you have to hold on this tight!
Well it’s only Monday ( unless you read this on a Tuesday ) in which case you have struggled hard for too long! If you need a break plan a trip out of work and come get coffee and a blowout or if you’re really over it all then stay longer get a color!
It’s 2020 and no one likes to waste anything, yesterday’s rice is today’s fried rice and we are all scrambling for a cloth bag to take to the shops to try to do our bit in order not to contribute to the destruction of our planet! Now we like to think of ourselves as resourceful nd o thug like getting two or three looks for the same cost as one right, ever mid the fact that you save your hair from doing too much chemical treatments. So if you have a old color that’s lighter at the ends the why not!
If you don’t have the Ends lighter it’s ok you can make it lighter and color over it to get the POP
If rimming is something you have seen and wanted to do why not give it a shot!
Often we get asked how to fix a hair problem, how much for color on medium length hair, can I color my hair blonde, how to stop frizz and the list goes on. We love answering questions and if we can help we most definitely will, but understand doing it over a text either DM or phone is very subjective, medium length to you doesn’t mean the same as it does for others, lighter to you and lighter to us has a different meaning.
We give free consultations for everyone, you can come in and chat with us about your hair and we will let you know what we think, approx cost and timeline for it. We don’t pressure you into doing it, in fact we are happy just to help you get your hair stress sorted.
So before we can give you a cost or a plan we need to see your hair first. Drop in and show us.
So we all know 2020 has started like part 17 of hunger games and it’s been a challenge to be positive about a lot of things, let’s be honest! But don’t stress because you have all the tools to be able to at least feel good about something. No not talking about getting your hair done, although that will help.
Talking about loving yourself, holding value in who you are, not letting anyone treat you less than you deserve or not thinking you deserve better. It’s one thing to let one small thing slide, it’s another to let it become the normal. Have big expectations of yourself and the interactions you have, if someone or something doesn’t fit into it it may be time to cut it off and move on.
It’s a two way street and if you find that it’s becoming one sided it’s time to take control. Life is too short to hold on to negative or something that’s not working. Could be your long layers, a toxic relationship, a fade diet or just a crappy job it’s time to set higher standards if you want the best life possible!
So you have taught your dog to sit, stay eat on demand amoughst other cool tricks and you are one of those people who likes control in life and yet your bangs are facing north 24/7 and you can’t seem to get them to behave. Can you train hair to move into a different direction?
Now there is several ways to encourage hair to move in certain directions which we will explain.
1. Cutting the hair in a certain way either removing or increasing weight around a certain problem area can encourage change of movement depending on the hair.
2. Product can help, whilst it’s not going to solve it without effort it may help.
3. Hair grows internally ( under your skin and the direction it grows out of your scalp in determined by the direction the root is facing so no amount of tugging or encouragement is going to change it!
4. If you have had a centre part for example for years and suddenly moved it and cut it short. The weight may have pulled the follicle into the centre part over time with the weight of the hair. After several washes 2-3 days the line will be gone.
Come speak to the Original hair whisperer 01141010011
Everyone talks about being sustainable and we immediately think recycle or creating minimal waste and that is possible the most obvious, good choices that have low impact on our planet and lives. For us whilst being a salon we believe that we can create a low impact whilst making smart micro choices daily.
Some of the things we do are;
We do not offer retail bags, too often most people have a pile of bags sitting at home that simply are carried from shop to car then car to inside the house.
We believe that if something needs to be done with your hair, we will tell you about it but we also believe that if it doesn’t need to be done then we will tell you not to do it also. Too often some people will end up doing things when in fact they don’t need too.
If we as a business can create awareness with staff and our clients in an ethical way they too will adapt to the new normal and in turn it makes a difference.
We aim to be relevant and considering Delhi has its fair share of electricity outages we just like you have been stuck midstream not knowing what to do. It happens eve in the salon, we have battery back up and maybe you do too but if you don’t here are a few tricks to help you not freak out!
If you haven’t yet started styling your hair then all you need to do depending on your hair is the following!
Little serum and possibly a thick leave in conditioner. Pat dry and then apply gently, gently pull into a low pony tail and you are good to go. Don’t make the mistake of trying to shake it dry or you will end up a frizzy mess!
A little leave in conditioner, something light preferably and gently put a scarf on your head making sure not to flatten it too much and wait or head to work then take it off.
This one is fail proof, open your phone, head to what’s app message work saying your sick proceed to Netflix log in head back to bed and chill!
You see something you like, you save it then dream about one day doing it which is normal and we are totally up for you saving photos as inspiration but your hair is not the same hair as the person in the photo.
If it’s a vibe more than an exact copy then it’s ok but if you are going to want your hair to be exactly the same you may find it challenging given your hair texture, density and the way your hair moves most likely isn’t the same. Now take that alongside your Faceshape being different it can be a mismatch that you need to be aware of.
Don’t panic tho it’s about creating a look that is based on a reference photo not a copy. Keep saving those photos as it’s the best way to explain it to your hairstylist when you visit the salon.
We get asked a lot about how often you should wash your hair, does shampooing your hair daily cause hair fall and what’s the best brand shampoo to use! Here you go, it’s all here!
How often should you shampoo your hair?
This is a very personal question and one that will vary from person to person, season to season. Someone with super long hair in winter will most certainly not want to wash their hair daily and someone with short hair is happy to do it daily in summer, makes sense right? Well the easy answer is this, just like your skin your scalp gets dirt, pollution and oils that need to be removed in order to have a healthy scalp, healthy scalp healthy growth! So it makes sense that you wash it daily! The longer you leave it the more oily and polluted your scalp will become. You wouldn’t wash your face every second or third day then wonder why you have a breakout would you?
When you wash it you notice hair in your hands, this is NOT from the shampoo and it’s 99.9% just naturally occurring hair that is coming out regardless but with the massage effects and rubbing you see it in your hands versus just falling on your shoulders during the day. Now that’s the scalp and condition based on your hair for the hair and not the scalp.
What shampoo is best for you?
That’s like asking what food am I going to like the most, it is different for everyone, while some have thick, coloured, fine thick etc etc. we recommend staying clear of shampoo with sodium laureth sulfate ( the detergent that is added just to add bubbles which is also added to many household cleaners). Apart from that it would depend on your budget and haircare regime. We use Alfa Parf as well as Schwarzkopf shampoo and there are many sulfate free shampoo’s on the market.
Will washing my hair make me bald? There is absolutely no truth in this whatsoever, baldness is fundamentally genetic and in your DNA. For guys you are more prone to hair loss than woman!
Last year we had a lot of interesting colors and while some will spill over to 2020 some we should leave behind or at least we hope so! We are entering a time of self reflection and don’t want to be burdened with trips to the hair salon every few weeks to make sure you look fresh! Gone are the days that you need or should be masking the odd white hair to look a certain way.
Colors in for 2019 but out for 2020
Ombré, let’s be honest it wasn’t cool for a while and whilst a lot still love it, it can be a tad tacky. This trend evolved once people with solid colors let it grow out, after several months it started to look good and boom that’s how it all started!
Stripey highlights, never cool unless it’s 1990 and then in fact wasn’t that cool but hey it was the 90’s so you just had to go with it!
Balayagè is one of those color trends that we believe will last a lot longer, it’s move from bold to more subtle is a sign of the gloss that everyone is seeking with their hair, it’s about creating depth and variation using lighter freehand selected pieces hand crafted throughout the last 2/3rds of your hair. It is super low Maintainence and isn’t harsh on the hair so it leaves it healthy and is not going to compromise condition at all
So if you are looking for hair that’s 2020 and isn’t going to destroy the months if not years of growing it out then relax because trend now is soft and shine, could be a block color that is not so far fetched from your natural color or a soft balayage that just gives a shine through reflective variation.
It’s one thing to know what you want, you have the perfect picture in your head and you know exactly how you want your hair to be. It’s another thing to explain it when it comes time sitting in the salon.
Communication has to be one of the worlds most underrated skills that can cause incredible damage or create the most beautiful relationships and if it all works it’s amazing!
Words like, splicing, texturising, graduated, choppy, tapered, subtle, bold, feathered, blunt or asymmetric can all sound Japanese if you don’t know and why should you it’s not your job right? Well your right, it’s your role when going to the salon to explain how you feel about your hair and how you want it to look after all. We know the biggest complaint in most hair salon visits is that the hairdresser didn’t get it and that’s why we believe the consultation is the most important part of our relationship as a hair salon.
Tips to get it right!
Firstly choosing both the right hair salon is key, asking around, friends you like their hair and then going in for a consultation is one of the best ways to check out the vibe and communication you get with the hairstylist is very important.
Secondly have some reference images of the past that you loved your hair and a dream picture of how you would love your hair to be.
If you have no intention of blowdring it yourself then be honest and say that, because honesty is the best policy when it comes to setting yourself for a win during the salon visit!
Yes we do free consultations to anyone who would like to come and discuss hair we are more than happy to talk and help you understand what’s possible with absolutely no strings attached.
Pony tails and top-knots can be a struggle to get perfect every time, it’s an art but there is an easier way that most good hairstylists use that can make the process fool proof so here goes, it’s easy so don’t stress!
Ok so you need open elastic, approx 45cm ( you can get it from a craft store or search on Amazon ). You need an extra pair of hands and a cushion brush.
Step 1. Brush your hair up and hold it in your hands whilst your friend watches, brush it into place making sure you maintain holding the hair the entire time.
Step 2. Once it’s all brushed and tightly held in your hand, get your friend to wrap the elastic around the base underneath your hand and wrap it around twice tightly and tie in a knot.
Step 3. Cut off loose ends
Step 4. Take small section out from underneath and wrap around base of ponytail to hide elastic, secure with a fine pin!
Well yes we know it’s only day 2 but you are already asking what’s new and while nothing changes overnight hair color for 2020 is more about shine that actual color. Creating depth, using lighter tones to highlight with the sun or lack of actually right now!
It’s not about always being dramatic rather creating a soft element of variation that’s easy to wear, super low maintanence and sexy! It helps give the illusion of more hair plus doesn’t affect condition long term!
Every year thousands of people across the world think that the clock struck a midnight and its a reset of your life. You can literally say anything and it will come true, the reality is that can happen anytime once you decide it should but I guess it’s more dramatic if you do it on New Year’s Eve. Certainly the way you spend your first day has more mental strength than a few wishes you blurt out drunk on Nee Years!
Now if you have been putting something off we suggest you just do it, if it’s been on your mind then it’s time you bit the bullet and just did it, there is no better time than now!
We are open all through just closed on New Year’s Day so go into the fresh year with the version of you that you want! Get the hair you want in 2020 📞 01141010011
According to few people who find it difficult to open that app on your phone called “google maps” we should get a massive sign so they can see us. Typically hairdressers talk a fair bit, ok they talk a LOT! There are some that take life too seriously so we thought to give you a few “one liners” to keep things real and if it doesn’t put a smile on their face at least you will have a laugh!
You want it teased or blown?
It’s fairly wet isn’t it?
Make it a bit wet and try
Let me blow it
Can you make it hard?
It’s too wet
I’m not feeling it, I do like it on the side though
Put more in but shake it first
Grab it and pull it tight
Is it tight enough?
Let me flip you upside and blow it
Cash or Card
You like it on your eyebrows or below?
Sorry I got some on your face
Oops i got some in your ear
Let me put another towel down it’s dripping all over you
In or out or just straight?
Put more in I want it to hold hard
Rub it in just on the end
Can I do this myself if your busy?
How long is this going to take, I’m on my lunch break
Next time I’m bringing my friend, she really wants to try you out
Sorry I came early
Sorry I’m late I will wait my turn, finish then you can do me
I want to come again just before Christmas
Same time next week?
Sorry your card is declined
It’s so white
Just a few drops before will help it move the way we want
Put in in your palms and just rub it gently
Take it all off
Omg I love how it feels I’m telling everyone to come to you
More and more people are choosing a plant based diet rather than eating meat and whilst we are not sitting here pushing our opinion down your throat, you clicked the link so in our own defence you started it!
We can get everything we need from plants it literally that simple and in fact our body functions better being vegan so why not do some research and see for yourself.
A lot of people are concerned and curious what food helps hair grow and to be honest if you want to have your body function to its peak it requires balance. A balanced diet covering all food groups plus looking after our body in terms of sleep, stress etc etc. a healthy growth is part what’s going on inside and what you do with it on the outside. So maintaining a clean scalp, conditioning the hair and not destroying it with heat, excessive color or styling which a lot of times is over done then think you can do a “hair spa” to fix it think again!
We all have wants and a lot of the time they are just that, wants certainly rarely are needs but rather wants. We live in a kind of selfish time and we all want instant gratification rather than working towards something.
So before you ramble of a list of things you want, think about what in the long list you actual need.
Maybe it’s something you keep putting off, a haircut or even just something simple like going to gym or a diet. Whatever it is do it!
So you are a guy 👍🏻 you drink beer, like sports and are often told your loud! You shower when someone says you smell and your more into the ladies than your self grooming.
OMG so many issues with that it’s not even funny! But chances are you are a guy ( well 50|50 ) you have hair and get it cut every so often so where do you go? More than likely you do t google much other than the Daily AQI or no Swiggy is not considered google neither it’s what’s app buddy!
So if you need a haircut, want to look good, maybe even the best you have in years then give us a shot! We are fairly awesome and if you open another tab and search Rod Anker Salons you will see!
Going grey can for some be super dramatic and stressful and the darker your hair is the more you notice it! Often the first few isn’t much of a problem or concern but then slowly over time it’s a few dozen often at the most annoying and visible places. Now covering a few isn’t much drama or maintanence but once the regrowth becomes visible then it becomes problem every few weeks.
How can you fix it?
The easiest way to manage going grey is remembering as we get older our hair should also go slightly lighter. Now not saying we all need to be blonde but if you had black hair when you were 22 and now 45 possibly you shouldn’t still be thinking your hair is black. The darker you color your white hair and the more that there is the more you will notice it!
So if you want a low maintenance hair color and tired of visits to the salon every few weeks it’s maybe time to find out how we can help.
For a lot of people the struggle to get seen is often real, we like to be noticed and in fact at times our life depends on it! Work opportunities go by because your the nice one that always says yes, the one that stays late without question or the one that goes without because that’s just the way you are, nice!
If you want to be seen maybe a fresh color with variation is what you need!
Your mum told you to do it so it must be right, right?
Now before you all decide to spam our inbox keep reading.
Oil & water don’t mix right? No they don’t and hair is dead keratin right? Yes!
Oil doesn’t absorb into the skin does it? No!
You can’t replace the moisture inside your dead keratin you can only protect it!
Oil coats the hair even after washing it multiple times, later upon layer of build up of that oil and it accelerates the heat created by sun, air, wind, Ac etc. the heat seals the oil on your hair and the heat is increased sucking the last bit of moisture out of your dead keratin hair!
Later upon later of oil ( because your mumma said it’s good) now your hair feels like a Brillo pad and tougher than concrete but super shinny ( from the oil coating )
Your mum is wrong!
If you think that oiling you’re hair is right and makes your hair grow, stand in a bucket of water and absorb the water next time your thirsty!
Sometimes things get so bad you really don’t see how it can get better, at the time it feels like you may as well just shave it off and start again. Below is one of those times when a little TLC ( tender loving care ) made the world of difference!
We took the worst parts off creating a blunt finish which made the hair look thicker!
Then we blended the roots into the mid lengths and added ash to the base color to help balance out the gold washed out color. We then gently lightened the ends using Balayagè technique to give the hair depth and shine.
then we did a kindred treatment to close the cuticle and lock in some added moisture into the hair!
This is the final result, as you can see the hair looks so healthy, has shine and instantly looks better!
All this in 2 hours, how are you spending your free time?
Easy to say you want lived in hair and a lot of you want it and think that it literally means doing nothing at all and expecting it to look ” post ready ” without doing anything. The idea of “just got out of bed hair” doesn’t mean just get out of bed and boom, you have awesome hair either.
The secret to getting the look right is doing less but starts with getting the right cut and having your hair in the right condition for it!
Well its not really a secret so here goes..
It starts with getting the right haircut, this doesn’t mean always changing the style, it is about creating the right texture and movement with the cut you have. It may mean growing layers longer or taking them slightly shorter depending on the texture of your hair and the desired style. Our dry cutting technique ensures your hair sits the way it is meant too with minimal effort.
The right Product at the right time, applied in the right way makes the world of difference! A lot of the time we see people using too much or at the wrong time. Can be 2 or 3 products but rarely more, less is best but will depend on your hair, the style and the texture of your hair.
Using tools whilst the thought of doing work to make it look like you didn’t may sound odd, you may need to go over a few small sections to ensure it still looks sorted, can be a few sections with curling or a few bits with irons to smoothen it out!
Whatever your dream hair is, best to sit and have a conversation with your hairstylist on what your ideal hair looks like, the reality to how you currently manage it and the products you have. There is no need to go and buy every product known to mankind in the hope it will change everything as most times you will already have something that can be used and rarely need to be buying more product to achieve the look!
Like everything that is good, we all often wonder what it is about it that makes it they way it is, just like KFC you may be able to make it look the same but it just isn’t the same! Deep fried chicken isn’t KFC’s secret!
Do we have a hidden way of working, nope in fact we have always maintained the same conversation about being transparent and real, if you need something we will tell you, if you don’t we will also tell you! There should be nothing done unless it makes sense otherwise it’s a waste of time and money. Sounds kind of simple but sadly it’s not common place as much as we would like it to be.
Some may think that being blunt is rude, telling you that you don’t need something lazy or turn up on time so everyone enjoy’s a salon that doesn’t run late as rude. But in our defence we feel it makes the experience a win win for everyone.
If you haven’t visited us, we are not a new salon we have been in Meherchand market for 4 years, drop in say hi and have a chat about hair or just come say hi 👋🏻
Trusting a new salon or stylist is always hard, can be hit and miss and at times like they simply don’t listen. The best way to get what you want is through a good solid consultation before anything is done to your hair!
We always suggest that if you haven’t been to us that you allow a little longer so we can sit and go through what you like and don’t like about your hair, what you will do daily and what you simply won’t ever do. It’s only then once there has been a two way discussion that either party knows what needs to be done, what is realistic and what can and can’t be done. It’s from that conversation and how in-depth it is that will determine if you get the hair you want or not!
So if you want good hair, it starts with a solid Q & A and getting to know what’s inside your head!
The reality is very few will have loads of money when they retire, by the time you get there you will need 5-10 times what you thought you would. But we are not talking retirement we are more concerned with today and tomorrow!
A lot of people are not spending any time or money bettering themselves, not reading books, not attending seminars not furthering their education in life or chosen career. It needs to be said that this is your job not your employers, not some stranger you just met or not your parents, IT IS YOU that needs to invest in you! It’s not good enough to sit back and think you earned it and your time is coming, it’s not! You either move forward better yourself or step aside and make way for someone who wants to be better!
Food for thought but not too long because every meal ticket has an expiry!
After recently reading an article that was completely wrong, even after being asked for the answers, we thought it best to share again some facts about washing your hair to set things straight. Hairdressing is doing hair and to get others opinions, whilst we welcome that with open arms its best to get hair advice from people who are qualified doing hair not your mum, aunt, vegetable guy or your plumber.
Some say washing your hair every day can cause hair loss?
Well the easy answer is no, however it’s wrong if you use the right shampoo and keep your scalp clean then you are doing everything to have a healthy scalp which means healthy hair growth. If you use a shampoo that is drying or too aggressive, then it can affect your scalp PH leveltherefore possible increase hair loss ( note that it won’t be the only cause and we have never seen someone go bald from shampoo fyi )
Should you water down shampoo?
Absolutely not, this is 100% false both shampoo and co dituonrr in fact should be used in damp hair and excess moisture removed before using it!
Can we apply shampoo directly to your scalp?
Directly onto your scalp yes, isn’t that the purpose? Take from bottle into your hands then apply it directly to your scalp massage well from scalp to ends rinse and repeat if desired!
Do all chemicals damage your hair?
No, if your colouring your hair “out of a box” or trying to DIY chances are whatever you do may do damage. Colouring your hair shouldn’t cause it to look or feel damaged unless your doing other things that effect it! Don’t do home remedies thinking they are all good, some in fact cause more damage than chemicals!
If I want full hair, can I skip conditioner because that makes my hair flat?
No, if it’s too heavy then use something specifically for your hair. Conditioner closes the cuticle of the hair ( the outside layer ) snd prevents moisture leaving the hair!
Does frizziness cause hair fall?
Absolutely not!! Hair fall comes from inside your scalp, breakage is external. Some people have naturally frizzy hair that no product on planet earth can tame, doesn’t mean your going to be bald. Split ends eventually break off if not cut at some point!
Be careful where you get your information from, sadly a lot of wrong information is out there, do your own research and try to get advice from people doing hair. Remember, a makeup artist does makeup, a numerologist studies numbers, a builder builds houses.
Some are born into royalty and before you can even you know you have a total win front of your name. For the 99.9% of us this isn’t the case and we all have to work for our goals. It’s not a bad thing in fact it’s a journey most enjoy and you should, it’s half the fun!
The reality is if you don’t change anything and continue with the same attitude, approaching everything the same way day in day out, the chances of anything changing are almost slim to none! It’s insanity to think you can just keep doing the same thing day in day out and expect a different result, it’s not going to happen!
The sad reality is there is a lot of people who think that things are perfect, the approach is right it’s just a matter of time and sure there is an element of timing and luck but it’s more about evolving and changing your approach. Imagine waking up everyday in a bad mood expecting the day to be perfect, it’s not going to happen. Send your CV out and never get a response and you just keep doing it or eating junk food daily and wondering why you can’t loose weight. Life is about growing, learning, evolving and being better today than you were yesterday.
If you are still sporting the same look since the mid 90’s it may be time for something fresh to happen to your hair!
You want your hair done but don’t want to go all out and have a full color, maybe it’s too damaged or maybe you just want to spend a whole lot. Either way there are options!
The color above was a little gold all over so we added ash brown at the roots and balayage on the ends to balance it out and give life to a new look without removing all the gold. Creating variation and gradient without damaging the hair.
If you think your hair needs a little adjustment come see us, there is always options.
If you have been searching for change and we don’t mean to chump change then keep reading.
It’s easy for the days to turn to weeks, the weeks to months and before you know it’s been 2-3 years since you changed your hair! Now we hear you saying you like it and it works so why not, well your right but you wouldn’t wear the same outfit every single day would you?
Hair makes such a difference to how you feel, the way people treat you and the way you look, why wouldn’t you change and evolve your look! It doesn’t have to be dramatic it can be small changes that make a big difference!
If it’s time for change then pick up the phone and get yourself in to see us!
Doesn’t seem that long ago for a lot of us there were a handful of TV stations all playing much the same nonsense at set times and we were happy or content with it! We would watch it and religiously follow it, watch tv ads buy into whatever was being sold and that was that.
Now our brains crave stimulation 24/7 and often after a few episodes or seasons we ditch a show just because it’s predictable and just boring. We want constant fresh content, hot today and cold tomorrow!
Just like that we now need to think of hair the same way, just because you have it today doesn’t mean it needs to be like that tomorrow, day after and day after, it’s boring!
So many people put the focus on skin and cleansing your face, removing makeup and closing pores but are happy to wash hair every 3-4 days. It’s completely absurd to leave the perspiration, dirt, product and pollution on your hair and scalp for days and not have some side effects!
The growth or healthy growth of hair and maintaining it is largely linked to the PH level of your scalp. This is effected by what’s on it or rather what’s not, sure you can use product but it must be washed off daily. Sure you can workout but you must wash the perspiration directly after your workout.
No matter how special you are or think you are, science doesn’t care. Leave it, fine because your busy and don’t want to blowdry daily then maybe you have the wrong haircut or don’t know how to manage it. If that’s the case you need to drop into your salon and ask for help because that’s what we are for!
You tired of watching YouTube video’s on how to style the perfect curls, 24 ways to wear your hair or hair hacks? It’s true some people are just plain bad at it but with a little help it can be easier than what you think!
Here are a few tips that are the biggest cause of hair fail, your welcome!
Always use a conditioner or leave in conditioner don’t think by not conditioning it’s always the right way to get fullness. Use it only on your hair not scalp.
Pat dry your hair after shower, don’t toss it around, flipping it all over the place expecting it to do anything other than make it frizzy
Blast dry your hair gently BEFORE trying to style it! Yes 90% dry before you pick up a brush!
Just because the stylist did 17 sections all nice and neat, you can do a lot less and don’t stress too much about how neat or messy it looks.
Don’t use too much product, try it without and build up on it each time you do it.
After you think you are done don’t play with it too much, often it is just a gentle pat into place that it needs nothing more!
Once it’s dry, brushing it too much is not the answer!
Dry shampoo is ok but a lot can leave the hair looking dull, try a dusting powder or limit your dry shampoo.
Serum in moderation is great but using too much can make it look oily.
.Next time you’re at the salon watch, ask questions and see how it’s done or take a video so you can refer to it later!
It’s rarely just the tools that make the difference although at times they help. Good luck!
The weather is changing and I’m Delhi at least the air has been the best we have seen for years! With every change of season it’s always recommend to alter your hair, even if it’s a slight change. Evolving your look every season keeps you looking fresh!
All the autumn colors are in like rust, burnt toffee, caramel, peach and many more so instead of doing the same thing everytime why not have some fun with your hair color!
Often it’s not the right time to get your hair done and it’s out of sync with pay day or just life got you always short. It’s ok we now have EMI on your hair! Yes so chill out and get whatever you want done and choose up to 12 months to pay!
You don’t need a credit card and you get the choice to pay over 3,6,9 or 12 months. Subject to bank and approval. So no matter how broke you are there is no reason to be putting it off now you can have the hair you want today!
We hear a lot about the challenges that being married to 3 people and not one has and it can obviously be challenging and stressful beyond belief. Some are super lucky snd have managed to set the boundaries very clear while other use mental powers to deal with it but on a daily basis it can be torture!
It’s hard to think that you have to lie to someone for them to back off and let you live you life but at times it’s reality. Well we have discovered the best way to deal with mother in-laws when it comes to the demands of hair that you will love and are super easy!
Yes you could move to Alaska and tell her that don’t have phones, I guess that might help but kind of extreme and to be honest might be a tad cold. If an intervention can’t be done and a civil calm discussion is out of the question then I guess a few “white lies” should do the trick!
You have wanted short hair or a fresh hair color but you know she will go mental at you and tell you point blank that she likes long hair!
Don’t panic, it’s easy to pass the blame and yes we have done this! Simply do what you want with your hair, no old restrictions just do it without thought because I guess it’s your hair and your not in prison so do it. Now here is the bit you need to get right, go show her angrily and incredibly upset, if you can shed a few crocodile tears even better! Just think Emmy awards or your making the best tik tok clip to a sad song.
I can’t believe these hairdressers, I told them only a trim! This is going to take years to grow back omg I hate it I look like a boy etc etc. Get all her thoughts out together as if you absolutely hate it and don’t know how you will live or even go outside the house looking like you do! Deep down you love it but don’t let her think that for a second.
Her natural instinct will be to calm you down, tell you it’s not that bad and in fact look ok. Let her continue she will keep the compliments coming, trust us. Keep referring to your hairstylist as if they must be on drugs or blind ( it’s fine we have thick skins ). Once the “scene” is complete you leave, still upset and tell her you just don’t feel right and you need to get some new clothes to match the hair and boom you have managed to avoid an argument!
We all either have one of those friends who ditches at the last minute after hours of getting ready or you are one of those friends!
It’s reality and honestly with Netflix dropping content like it’s end of season sale every day it is hard to maintain the motivation throughout getting ready. Let’s try to help you with a few tricks, maybe you know them maybe you you just haven’t tried so here goes!
Dry shampoo or a styling dust, dry shampoo can look a little powdery or leave a white residue so a styling dust is ideal. Soaks up a little oil and gives your hair the extra volume you need. Wear it messy, it looks more effortless and just play it into place.
Top knot, yes it’s an option and super easy! If it’s greasy or oily then some dust or dry shampoo prior so it stays up.
On dry hair lightly spray a texturising spray and lightly scrunch it up. Natural and sexy
Do nothing but lightly iron the top layers to make it look more sorted without a huge effort of going all through your hair!
If none of this works we suggest cancelling immediately and spend the remaining time searching for a new series to binge watch!
We hear stories all the time about just about anything, people add bits to stories and as they move along it becomes fact, when in reality it’s just a story. When it comes to hair there are so many stories that are simply not true nor have any factual context at all. Here are some!
Fact or fiction on hair
If you color your hair, it will fall out? False in fact there is more chance of being hit by a plane landing on your house than your hair falling out from colouring. It can break off if it’s not done properly but falling out is unlikely
Cutting your hair makes it grow faster? No false, your hair grows regardless it may be healthy if you get regular trims ( every 6-8 weeks ) but growth happens under the scalp so nothing to do with the ends. Split ends left can travel up the hair shaft and break off but the growth remains the same.
The more you colour your hair the more grey comes? False, if you cover it over time you will have more grey it’s simply hidden.
Washing your hair causes hairfall? False! Hair has a life cycle and once it’s complete it falls out and grows again. If you keep in mind approx 100 hairs a day fall regardless and you wash it every 3rd day then expect 200-300 hairs come out of your hairstyle when you wash it. When you apply conditioner it closes the cuticle and makes it more slippery against the other hair, so the hair that’s fallen out but stuck will come loose then also. It’s not the product!
Shaving a child’s head to grow it thicker? False cutting hair has absolutely nothing to do with the texture of the growth ( which is Dna and created under the skin ) whilst it may look or feel thicker it is simply because all the hair is then the same length. It does not make it grow any thicker, faster or change the way it will be at all!
Hope that’s has helped clear up some hair myths for you ✌🏻
If you are like a lot of people you tend to be on a constant lookout for a bargain and let’s be honest who doesn’t like one right! On face value a product X can be cheaper at one outlet compared to another and it’s exactly the same thing ( it’s a product that is made in the same factory is exactly the same ) let’s say the new iPhone 11 can vary in prices dramatically so if you get it 10,000 cheaper then you got yourself a bargain!
Now if you just want a cheap phone that you can still call, text or check out memes then you can spend a lot less and save a lot more than 10k. Apples for apples pardon the pun!
So what is the value of a haircut or color?
Depending on what you are after and who you ask, if you are shaving your head it’s based on experience of the service I guess but if you are after a certain look and want your hair to move and look a certain way without risk, get constant compliments and feel the best you possibly can then it’s everything!
The old saying of “its only 2 weeks between a good haircut and a bad one” is so far from reality that anyone who has had a bad haircut would agree! The difference to your personality that your hair can make is by far the quickest boost out of anything you could possibly do. Being able to get out of bed, do very little and know how to handle it so there is virtually no bad hair days gives you the confidence with your hair and look that you need to be a boss!
Now whilst Rod May be the most expensive hairdresser in the country and has years of experience we also have a full team trained alongside him that are incredibly talented. If you have never loved your hair or get compliments rarely maybe it’s time to experience it!
So many people put the focus on skin and cleansing your face, removing makeup and closing pores but are happy to wash hair every 3-4 days. It’s completely absurd to leave the perspiration, dirt, product and pollution on your hair and scalp for days and not have some side effects!

Your hair should not be such a burden styling it, if it is then something is wrong.
There is a lot of people that still ( yes in 2019 ) think a shaved head is bad or makes you look older. If you are loosing your hair as a guy it’s a common thought that you look less youthful and must be old. Fairly odd thought we know but it seems to be a common thought.
Now firstly you have to remember the older we get the lighter our skin goes so our hair can not be dark and needs to get lighter over time. Having a lot of thinning hair that you can see through it’s obvious what you have and what you don’t. Shaving it off is certainly not for everyone but it sure does scream confidence and has no age link to either amount of hair or the color!
So no matter how much hair you have or don’t have it has nothing to do with age, own it and be a boss
We have been thinking a lot lately on why people get things done, why we spend money, why we chase things and people even if it’s not right for us.
A lot of the time it’s boredom, sometimes it’s just plain stupid and we like being stupid and other times it’s through lack of knowing what you should chase and what you shouldn’t.
With so much information around us it’s hard to filter what’s real and what’s false, Instagram has us all feeling like a failure because for the majority of us we don’t fly around the world in a private plane and have close dinners with A list celebrities every few days. We are not wearing the latest drop from the coolest labels and your saved list of things you want is longer than your prescription from the last time you went to the dermatologist!
Whilst you may have heard the most expensive haircut in India is from us, but the reality is we often say no to things that don’t make sense for you to do. Crazy we know but because we like to be as honest as possible if it’s not the right thing to do or your expectations and reality are lightyears apart we tend to play things safe so you know what you are in for. I guess because hair is such a personal thing it’s easy to get emotional about and make poor decisions it but at the end it can make you feel unstoppable and just plain awesome if your hair works, so we take it very seriously!
You get honest, because we like to sleep at night knowing we speak the truth.
You get facts versus fiction because it’s easy to be real than put on a constant show.
You get options, if you have a budget ( like 99% of people on the planet do) we go through the cost clearly breaking it down so there is no surprises.
If that sounds too easy to be true then it’s about time you dropped in and let us do what we do!
It only seems like a moment ago the term “Influencer” was understood with a fair amount of contempt and yet from a certain group of people with admiration. Whilst the word rolls off the tongue and to some it is almost has a distaste to it and others admiration. We all have to agree that there are certain people that have influence, like it or not and in fact we all have a certain amount of influence with others.
In the true sense i guess we are all influencing each other and thats why its super important to have the right circle around you, you end up morphing into each others personalities if you are not careful which can be good or bad depending on who is in your circle!
Now to be honest there is a lot more that goes into the “designation” or profile of someone that is deemed an influencer than just posting selfies or outfit photos they all have several thing in common one of which is typically beautiful hair, maybe not in a traditional sense but it always seems effortless! Don’t believe us go check out some of the ones you follow then come back!
