Your mum told you to do it so it must be right, right?
Now before you all decide to spam our inbox keep reading.
Oil & water don’t mix right? No they don’t and hair is dead keratin right? Yes!
Oil doesn’t absorb into the skin does it? No!
You can’t replace the moisture inside your dead keratin you can only protect it!
Oil coats the hair even after washing it multiple times, later upon layer of build up of that oil and it accelerates the heat created by sun, air, wind, Ac etc. the heat seals the oil on your hair and the heat is increased sucking the last bit of moisture out of your dead keratin hair!
Later upon later of oil ( because your mumma said it’s good) now your hair feels like a Brillo pad and tougher than concrete but super shinny ( from the oil coating )
Your mum is wrong!
If you think that oiling you’re hair is right and makes your hair grow, stand in a bucket of water and absorb the water next time your thirsty!
After recently reading an article that was completely wrong, even after being asked for the answers, we thought it best to share again some facts about washing your hair to set things straight. Hairdressing is doing hair and to get others opinions, whilst we welcome that with open arms its best to get hair advice from people who are qualified doing hair not your mum, aunt, vegetable guy or your plumber.

Some say washing your hair every day can cause hair loss?
Well the easy answer is no, however it’s wrong if you use the right shampoo and keep your scalp clean then you are doing everything to have a healthy scalp which means healthy hair growth. If you use a shampoo that is drying or too aggressive, then it can affect your scalp PH level therefore possible increase hair loss ( note that it won’t be the only cause and we have never seen someone go bald from shampoo fyi )
Should you water down shampoo?
Absolutely not, this is 100% false both shampoo and co dituonrr in fact should be used in damp hair and excess moisture removed before using it!
Can we apply shampoo directly to your scalp?
Directly onto your scalp yes, isn’t that the purpose? Take from bottle into your hands then apply it directly to your scalp massage well from scalp to ends rinse and repeat if desired!
Do all chemicals damage your hair?
No, if your colouring your hair “out of a box” or trying to DIY chances are whatever you do may do damage. Colouring your hair shouldn’t cause it to look or feel damaged unless your doing other things that effect it! Don’t do home remedies thinking they are all good, some in fact cause more damage than chemicals!
If I want full hair, can I skip conditioner because that makes my hair flat?
No, if it’s too heavy then use something specifically for your hair. Conditioner closes the cuticle of the hair ( the outside layer ) snd prevents moisture leaving the hair!
Does frizziness cause hair fall?
Absolutely not!! Hair fall comes from inside your scalp, breakage is external. Some people have naturally frizzy hair that no product on planet earth can tame, doesn’t mean your going to be bald. Split ends eventually break off if not cut at some point!
Be careful where you get your information from, sadly a lot of wrong information is out there, do your own research and try to get advice from people doing hair. Remember, a makeup artist does makeup, a numerologist studies numbers, a builder builds houses.
Seems like there is a lot of people that are not in business or hairdressers that know so much more than us and we love them all ❤️
Apparently and we never knew this but if you have a big sign you will be busy, if it lights up you will be known as the best, get neon plus one that flashes and you may as well order that private jet because you are going to be rocking!
Shit, apparently cutting hair well has nothing to do with it? If only we had known we would have lit it up like a Christmas tree 🎄
Well two years in and we are going stronger than ever so I guess the sun or moon must be lighting it up cos we are doing great! For those who say we can’t find you, there is a little app called “google maps” and if you type in “Rod Anker Salons” chances are it will take you right to our door, right beside Altitude Cafe or two doors down from Bombay Shirt Company.
If you are still struggling like a German trying to eat rice with chop sticks 🥢 then head to Meherchand Market and call us on 01141010011 as our team love explaining it to you, your driver, your auto driver or the bus driver if the case may be.
Some of us remember getting our first mobile phones, wasn’t that long ago. Texting was not our main form of communication, In fact believe it or not it was talking ( wtf right ) well it was! A text would be replied straight away, well because it was rude and ignorant not too. Now…….
A lot of salons choose to do a little this and that, jack of all trades ( master of none ) with the goal to try and be your “one stop shop” 😂 and only delivering 20% of everything vs being 100% of one thing. Now whilst we get it, a lot of you have expectations that we should be doing hair, nails, your makeup, picking up your groceries, collecting your children, taking them to the toilet, washing their bums, ordering your lunch and the list goes on. But guess what we don’t, we won’t and we will not hesitate to let your little Johnny poop his pants ( nah only kidding but you get the point )
If you want anything not hair related, your in the wrong house, if you want awesome hair, take a seat Cheryl and let’s get started!
You’ve trolled through the internet like you have tried to find evidence of your partner cheating, you have compared prices and deals to the point you really have no idea how half of them work. Most claim to be the best at well pretty much everything. Some claim they are the biggest, the fastest, the best, the most convenient, spacious, best trained, most awarded blah blah blah. Over it?
Rather than talking about 101 ways to cover it up , we know real woman should be able to do whatever the hell they like so considering we don’t do waxing we decided to put together some fresh looks for you in case you didn’t have a plan.
Something there for everyone, if in doubt grow it out!
Embrace a woman’s right to do whatever she wants to do, wear whatever she wants to wear and do her hair however she wants too! That’s respect!
Was asked today who is our target market and it got me thinking…. immediate thoughts were not people who would ask “who is your target market” lol that too in a packed salon to ask “Who comes here” 😶
So thought we should spell it out for you, we do hair, we do beautiful sexy AF hair, that is not driven on anything other than giving you a beautiful looking head 🙊
We are not sorry for how we communicate, it’s the way we talk, it’s real. If you think by you telling us who you are is going to make us do a better job or give you more attention I guess you should possibly not choose us, if you want awesome hair then there is really only one option.
Last seen exiting a salon in Dehi, John was seen running towards the airport after his not so creative cut was complete. We spoke to the alleged hairstylist who tells us he entered the salon in a fantastic mood, very chirpy in fact. “We spoke about many things and I gave him something fresh and suiting his face” the hairstylist said. Once the service was complete John informed the staff he looked stupid, ” I look like some homeless Uncle” he shouted. The entire salon plus passers by all said ” No sir you are looking too good!”
Convinced this entire process was a scam to ruin his love life, John paid the 300rp and left saying he was heading to Meherchand market to get it fixed!
When we asked the accused Hairstylist why he made him look like a human box he replied ” he said medium trim this is medium trim shape”
All we can say at this point is we hope he can be located so this box 📦 can be fixed.
Community spokesperson for the Association for Cuts that make me look like a cardboard box ( CTMMLLAB ) said that this was a bad shape for his beard, he must be ashamed however he was inticed into the salon by somewhat misleading advertising.
Not everyone wants to be in a band, have a sleeve full of tattoos or drive a Harley Davidson ( well the last one isn’t true, who doesn’t want to drive a Harley!) Getting bad boy hair is not as hard as you think if you just don’t over think it!
Obviously the cut has to be done right but let’s just assume it was, styling bad boy hair is easy because it rely’s on typically one product, keep in mind guys don’t do complacated.
Texture is important and blunt cuts won’t work, having texture in your hair is 80% done in the cut and the rest is done in choice of product. Typically a matte paste is the perfect product on dry hair, never blow dry only use your fingers when drying followed by tee spoon in your hand rubbed together then place firmly over the entire head then shake and run!
You would have almost done it, gone for something new something fresh but you just don’t know what it would look like right?
Chances are that if you have ever wanted to do something dramatic something has stopped you unless you are super convinced either in yourself or by your hairstylist.
We believe that it’s not about selling a style, it’s not about pushing our opinion, it’s about discussing options and eliminating options and finding out what it is that not only suits you but you can manage yourself. It’s one thing to want to look like xyz but your hair will never do it when you get home and you’re alone trying to get ready to go out.
We believe that a haircut has to feel right for you as well as suit you do it takes a lot of discussion to find out and it’s not just about cutting the hair, even after it is cut we need to make sure you know how to manage it daily.
So if you’re not getting this then it’s about time you visited us!
You’ve trolled through the internet like you have tried to find evidence of your partner cheating, you have compared prices and deals to the point you really have no idea how half of them work. How to grow your hair faster, thicker, stronger is possibly one of the most googled questions.
Well it’s fairly basic but so are some of you, we guess your thinking it’s food or some exotic fruit but here are the facts!
Hair is dead once it leave your scalp so FYI putting anything on it isn’t making it grow faster! If you pour water over a dead cat would it be able to drink it? No
Regular trims (6-8weeks) doesn’t make it grow faster but reduces split ends hence reducing of length.
8-10 hours of sleep a night. Yes some of you should have hair like Rupanzel right about now!
Healthy diet! There are 5 food groups all nutritionists around the world know about them, it’s not a secret. Eat something from each group daily. Don’t over eat, don’t skip and don’t try to convince yourself you can cheat. Healthy body healthy hair!
Use good products, for f*%# sake just because they have a Marketing budget doesn’t mean it’s the best product! Do some research get the facts!
Sometimes in life you need to add an element of color!
When we talk technically about a cut, be it the structure or the way it creates the right shape for your face shape it’s about creating a look that is multi dimensional. To do that we have to use depth and tone using color.
One of the most exciting and creative things that has happened in recent years is Neon colors ( yes they glow in the dark! ) Alfa Parf Milano, has a range of Neon colors that are amazing. Now before you say ” yeah I don’t think my boss would appreciate me coming in with glow in the dark hair” it’s doesn’t have to be a solid color.
What is fantastic about this type of color is that the lasting power is second to none, lasting months without fading issues.
Depending on your comfort levels and placement, it can be something that pops only when the hair moves or it can be as loud or creative as you like, basically a unicorn or a mermaid to a little hidden pop it’s up to you.
Now I’m sure some blokes love a girl that’s so long that if you forget the rope to tie up the stuff in the Ute you could use a few metres from her hair. But do girls really like hair that could easily double as a bum warmer?
Now if you are a girl reading this, you would completely relate to removing the hair from you know where, hardly a nice task nor one we talk about.
Go to the gym, do squats expose your butt and cut your hair!
Respect for all the times you had to dig deep and fish out the 100 odd hairs you loose every single day!✌🏻
Scientists have discovered the cure for loosing our hair and a way to grow a full head of hair. It was last Friday a group of scientists in a small town approximately 15km outside Baldocia in northern Romania found the Gene that has been on the run since the dawn of time.
Exhausted the Gene said to the scientists “it was fun running at first, but to be honest once we saw everyone just shaving there head well it just didn’t seem like people were willing to play anymore” Left a little disgruntled and angry over everyone’s loss in attitude it feels like playing hide and seek with your Auntie who is meant to be looking after you while your mum and dad go out but she is too busy swiping on tinder, said one of the Genes. A murmer and chuckle from the back of the group saying it was encouraging that some people were rubbing fruit, oil and even pulped onions on there head, it was as if they thought this shit would work 😂
Cornered and tired after centuries avoiding discovery the group of small genes with there over blown ego sat panting looking somewhat pale and exhausted.
Police asked them what they were looking forward to most, they all said that a good shower and sulfate free shampoo was the first thing they wanted.
So we get asked a lot about how to grow healthier hair and even though we know the science on how too, we thought it a good idea to share some basics on our bodies and how hair is grown ( and it’s not like growing basil 🌿 or tomatoes 🍅)
What you need to have healthy hair
A balanced diet, yes your body requires a combination of all food groups to function to the. Best it can be.
The idea of eating crap, not sleeping properly, not drinking enough water and thinking you can use certain products to fix what’s happening internally doesn’t work.
Regular trims, yes every 6/8 weeks regardless of what length you have.
Good products, that are for your hair right now, not the same products you have been using since 1987 because you mum bought them.
Sulfate & parabin free shampoo as it contains less chemicals which strip the scalp and can dry it out.
Don’t over process your hair just because it’s on sale, you can’t stock up on your hair color. Only do things that are needed, don’t over do it.
Hair spa and oil massages are not going to fix much if not anything at all. If that’s your go too then you need to come see us to explain what oil does on your scalp and hair
Hair growth can not be altered, hair growth and the speed comes from within and is almost the same for everyone on planet earth.
When your building brand be it a person or a business the reputation or what the brand stands for is what the value is. It’s one thing to open a business it’s a completely other thing to build a brand. We see some businesses open and close, some doing a little this and that and not really standing for anything just a little of everything. To be sustainable in life we have to evolve and stand for something and have a firm understanding of what that is, it’s no use saying it but not actually believing it, we humans are far smarter than that it has to be authentic as well as understood. It’s like owning a service manual for a car, it doesn’t mean you know how to fix it or even understand how or why it works.
What we believe in is sustainable and to be the best daily in what we do both for the brand, the clients and for the future.
This post was originally posted on rod-anker.com 2 years ago so yes you have heard it before 😜
Rather than talking about 101 ways to cover it up on woman’s day, we know real woman should be able to do whatever the hell they like so considering we don’t do waxing we decided to put together some fresh looks for you in case you didn’t have a plan.
Something there for everyone, if in doubt grow it out!

Well this is not really a secret but some people tend not to understand just like some people think all Indian food is the same, there is a huge difference. Let’s look at them.
This is typically your local place that does everything from waxing you on the chair while your hair is getting blow dried to send someone down the road to pick up your shopping once you arrive 20 min late and is a very casual setting typically a small space. Typically don’t do male clients.
Now whilst in most parts of the world this is a place you grab a drink especially if your in the Wild West lol. However in India this is again a place that will do everything and anything from bleech your brows, straighten your hair and wax your legs all at the same time, why… well it’s all about maximizing turnover I guess. Typical prices, more typical results sprinkled with a little this and that. Don’t specialize in anything just do a little of everything. Do make and female clients kids and will also pick up your lunch, shopping and walk you to the car to hand you the change because your nails are still wet. Don’t worry they too are all about max turnover and they will say good bye each visit shamelessly waiting for there tip. But you can relax in this type of space because they have a tv playing all the annoying shows you hate while the radio or old songs your grandmother listened too whilst your getting your not Instagram worthy hair done.
One “o” missing but is nothing like the above. Will do hair, possible mani pedi but it’s all about hair, no tv only good tunes and professional staff ( typically )they regularly get training, they want training, they understand hair better than most and they love what they do and don’t wait on check out for a tip, they don’t want it. It’s about the work. They do things different, they talk normally and are focused and driven to deliver the best hair you have ever had. No flying nails being clipped off someone’s feet beside you, no waxing being done on some aunties legs beside you and no uncle getting his mani pedi done while he is drinking chai, talking on the phone screaming at his help and eating his lunch all at the same time. Ask them to collect your shopping if they are free they may do it but it’s not there job!
Now I already hear you saying that some salons function like saloons, some salons do the same things as saloons, well they are in fact saloons then.
If your shopping for a place to get your hair done, be it under the local tree, a small room above the pizza shop or the professional space locally understand just like a fruit shop doesn’t sell meat, a tailor doesn’t do car repairs and a furniture seller doesn’t do medical procedures there is a huge difference between the 3. By the way all have a space in the market we just choose to be a salon and not a parlour or a saloon!
I see hair like it’s a blank canvas, almost the same way I guess as a sculptor would view a piece of marble, rock or wood with endless possibilities.
The future of each piece we create is living walking around for a month, then it is redone, re created, refreshed into a new vision breathing fresh air into the art again. Maybe it’s completely new, maybe it’s just a refresh from the previous creation but always art.
You say you want it rough but you really want it more like a slow dance.
The buzz word on everyone’s vocabulary lately is “texture” from designers, hairstylists to photographers but the word itself lends itself to leaving the hair like you just had a three hour romp in the gutter compared to what in fact texture should look like.
Yes this is texture, a frizzy curl texture.
This is a messy upstyle, again messy and wispy like it’s wind blown.
This is texture but it’s a smooth loose wavy texture.
This is texture, more like haven’t done anything to it texture and sadly when some hairstylist think texture this is what they do. Texture is basically hair that is not solid, so if your creating a mood board or think your the next big thing in hair understand the various textures and describe them as you imagine.
Perfect products to create a variety of texture
Label m sea salt spray
Matt paste by label m
But remember not to over do it with product or teasing or it will look like a dogs breakfast.

Yes we do hair, we are bloody brilliant at it but there are limitations and you have to understand if it sounds too good to be true it probly is. The sad reality is some people will read this and think it is in fact true.
Drop into our salon and let’s discuss fact & fiction
When you place an order on line and it says shipping more than 24-48 hours you feel robbed right? Well imagine your hairdresser saying your hair can’t take a chemical service, a color, that keratin you so desperately want because it’s too damaged…. upset maybe even angry.
We believe there are times when we have to say no, it’s about being ethical and respecting there are times when what you want is not actually what you want. Sure we assure you there is a salon within walking distance from every “no” you get that will do whatever you want, but we are only interested in making you look the best possible.
If your hair has been taken over the edge and the condition sucks as Donald Trumps concept of humanity then here are the things you need to do.
Get yourself a second opinion from the best salon you can find, not cutting nothing just a consultation.
Depending on how bad it is the only option may be cutting it, lots of options for repairing however the only true way to get it back to healthy may be cutting the damage off.
Don’t do another chemical service to fix the one that ruined your hair.
The term “hair spa” sadly is used for a conditioner massage. Waste of time and money. Olaplex and various bond rebuilders work, hair spa doesn’t.
Always use a leave in serum
Avoid any oils always!
Don’t use excessive heat when styling.
Trim every 5-6 weeks until the hair is healthy again.
Remember a professional salon will never charge you for advice, it’s free so use it!
There is never a day go by that someone doesn’t walk into a salon in some corner of the world and want hairstylists to perform miracles by adding volume. Yes it’s not always the most suitable fave shape to carry it off but we all want what we want right?
So let’s just imagine by adding fullness it will suit your face shape.
Dropping a few tricks to help you out so your not having to sleep upside down hoping it stays like that during the day.
Shampoo your hair regularly so oiliness doesn’t build up.
Use a light conditioner only on ends
A volumizing powder really really works, adds volume for hours
Dry your hair upside down or standing upright lifting it directly vertical when styling.
Dry shampoo helps give a little grit to the hair adding volume.
If the weight is heavy no matter what you do it will go flop, add layers or texture it helps.
Remove some length this will lighten the load and help give it more volume.
The right cut can make all the difference but a little tool like “dust it” by Label M helps create the fullness that maintains the shape longer. Get some hands on tricks and suggestions from your stylist next time you get a blow out.
Bangs, short cropped, long blunt, thin, thick it’s all about the bang but this one will last longer than your last one 😝 See more bangin inspiration
Guys don’t break out into a cold sweat you have some good news. Taper cuts & quiff’s it’s all retro. If your a rule breaker the 80’s bowl is back but not for the lighthearted or insecure. More taper ideas
Beach curls, although we saw our social media timelines infected with “how to get the perfect beach curls” it will still be happening this year.
Neon colors yes glow in the dark color is a very new and super cool thing that’s happened. Not for everyone but if you have a per unicorn 🦄 then this is for you!
Turn me off in 2017
We will all be crossing our fingers and toes and hopefully stop seeing
Overdone hair, set looking hair
Hair that looks unhealthy
Asymmetrical haircuts! So done
Bad ombré that looks more like a bad DIY
Yep these last ones drive is crazy but hoping not to see as much this year.
So you think that leaving your hair dry naturally is better than using a dryer well let us explain why its not
Although some stylists often recommend sleeping in damp braids to get beachy waves, turns out air-drying may be more harmful than blow-drying: Water causes strands to swell; over time, this could weaken hair from the inside out. In the study, hair samples that were shampooed and then air-dried for two hours were compared to those blasted at various temperatures. Only the air-dried samples had significant damage to the cell membrane complex, the cement that holds cuticle layers together. That’s not to say that dryers can be used without harm: As the temperature of the air increased, the study found, so did the damage to the outer layers of each strand. The healthiest option, if not the speediest, is to dry on the lowest heat setting, with the dryer held at least six inches away from the head.
So instead of trying the easy braid on wet hair and trying to get it overnight, maybe its time to learn how to do it with a hairdryer and a large curling iron.
If your planning a trip away or a holiday, half your luck but what is going to happen to your hair or how is your color going to be in the climate your going too? Is the water going to cause the color to fade?
A few days we can all live with and it’s all good but using the hotel products although some smell great are far from the best to use for maintaining color.
Things to pack
Get some small bottles from your local chemist and transfer enough for the time your away
Take a few hair ties to add options in case you don’t want to blow dry ( your o. Holidays )
Any styling products, keep in mind if your swimming you should be taking a leave in conditioner and a serum.
A wide tooth comb, sounds basic but most hotels don’t have them in there in room kit.
Dry shampoo, to help you get away without having to shampoo.
Now your all ready, make sure you have visited your salon just before you leave so any color Maintainence is done and will get you through your trip without stress.
Do you spend countless hours on line searching all things from how to bake the perfect banana bread to filling out travel horoscopes?
You won’t say yes out loud, but I know your as bored af and it’s ok everyone gets bored from time to time.Is your version of a “touch up” getting your color done?
Ok so let’s make sure you don’t get so bored you end up trying to lighten up your hair with lemon juice and household bleach and help you shop for a new color for your hair!
We are going to make this super easy for you so you can stop thinking and first thing tomorrow can book in for your new hair color.
Are you able to return to the salon for Maintainence every month?
YES -Great your ok with it then cool your options are wide open.
No -Your a realist that’s awesome, best for highlights maybe some ombré or sombre but subtle and not too much happening at the top so you can skip a month or two before getting any touch ups.
Do you want people to notice it or does the color need to be subtle ( this means natural, not in your face and looks expensive )
I want everyone to see it- Your options are mermaid pastel combination to a natural base to add depth
Needs to be subtle – Ok so whatever your doing the color can’t be more than two shade difference from your natural color.
It’s never about what others think because if your happy in your own skin then no matter what you do it will look good if you have the right attitude. So if it’s pastel then decide what tone, if it’s a natural color then it’s just a matter of matching your natural color and maybe you want to add a little lighter variation on ends then your ready to book in and finish the chat and get your new look.
In most civilized parts of the world hairdressing in a trade that requires schooling, typically anything from 1-3 years depending on if it’s hands on or a college based curriculum. Now given the hours, weeks, months of study let alone hours and hours of practical which includes science of hair, body and nutrition it’s hard to believe someone can just walk to the fridge pull out some left overs and poof, your hair is left feeling like new!
Sure we all see DIY posts on YouTube or Facebook from some very eager kids thinking they have discovered the atom bomb or debuged a myth that the human make up of hair and science was wrong, or that they saw papaya on the list of ingredients so they will mash one up and use it as a hair mask.
Wake up please!
Hair is dead keratin, it’s dead! Yes you can maintain the health or more like condition of the dead keratin by using certain products, use them a certain way etc but putting food scraps on your head is not going to perform miracles.
Myths around putting oil on your hair still get thrown around with people explaining why they think it works but wondering why there hair feels like straw.
A solid hair care regime that includes regular shampooing ( every second day with the right products ) and conditioning every time. A leave in conditioner or serum ( depending on quality & texture of hair ) along with trim’s every 6-8 weeks then there is no reason to panic or have bad hair. We see a lot of people getting things done they either don’t need or shouldn’t be doing when in some situations not doing it would be better for your hair e.g.; your getting your regrowth color done and instead of just doing the roots you get it taken right thru the ends when it didn’t really need to be done ( over processing already coloured hair )
Before you stumble across a pretty little DIY video on you tube and think your life has changed and flit off to the market to get some eggs, fruit and oil for your miracle hair mask think please visit a good salon and ask what can be done to get shinny hair or softer more conditioned hair. Chances are there are several things you can do that will work instantly.
If your like most people every now and then you get dished up something and put it in your mouth, slowly roll it around thinking I really don’t want this but it almost feels too late to just spit it out! It could have been at a relatives house for dinner or after a night swiping right on tinder.
Getting your hair done should never leave a bad taste in your mouth, or leaving the salon thinking wtf did I do in my life to deserve this. The best advice we have is simply spit it out, if your asking the question then it’s kind of obvious you should spit right?
Don’t be lame and choose awesome, choose to take all the hair goodness we have to offer.
Meherchand Market & Noida sector 50
We are referring to getting a head full of awesome hair
What crap! Give me a week on the beach any day I say, but I do know that feeling when life has become a little boring, your routine has become more like a checklist rather than a life. Well maybe it’s time to spice things up?
Yes there are a lot of things that can heat things up, but we are talking hair you flithy little animals
If you have been putting a change on hold then January is the perfect time to jump and make the changes you want to see in your life! Log out of Tinder, turn off netflix and get your butt off the couch and get the change you deserve for this year in 2017!
Everyone has there one prize possession, for some it’s there indepedance or there free spirit for others it’s there vintage Birkin. Some people take there BFF to the salon and they wait whilst getting there hair done others reserve a few extra chairs ( one for there bag, one for there maid, one for security and one extra for there sunglasses)
Some will read this I’m sure and think WTF do people actually do this, some will read this and say of course either way we proudly don’t do ” plus one for my bag”
Whilst we are loving the look and love your 3 story perfectly curated closet, sadly most establishments don’t allocate extra seating for your fetish.
Tips for how to walk around town and care for your over loved bag.
Be happy to put in on the floor
Have your entourage care for it
Leave it in the car, it’s not the runway, it’s a salon we don’t really care what bag you own or don’t own.
Carry a backpack, maybe the type Dora the explorer carries, its way cooler fits in everything and will turn more heads than your vintage OTT BAG.
There is nothing like a good clean out, can be your car, bathroom cabinet, spare bedroom or your closet full to the brim for the last 6 months. Our minds are exactly the same and every day, week and year we keep stockpiling utter crap into them, every now and then it’s good to wipe the slate clean and get a fresh viewpoint.
Now when it comes to cleaning out the bathroom cabinet we have a few tricks to not only save you money but also streamline your hair care regime so here goes!
Pull out all the hair products, past and present and assess what needs throwing out and what needs using up asap
Before you buy anymore finish what you have ( we always encourage finishing what you have UNLESS it’s harmful to your color.
Sometimes ( sadly more often than it should ) you will be sold product that you simply don’t need or maybe you did then but your hair has changed. Write a list of what you have and show your hairstylist and see what needs to be put in the bin or replaced. If you have products you have no idea what they are or how to use it, take it with you next visit and ask.
If it’s got 3 drops in it, please throw it out don’t hold on to it.
Put them all back in the cupboard with the ones you need to use now and start using them!
With a little planning and knowing what you have not only will you save money, your hair care will have a plan with the right products to take care of it!
No secret that you can get almost everything pierced and yes I mean everything! Doesn’t really matter if you like it or not because guess what, it’s gangster level 10. Well the latest obsession is braided Peircing which takes your cute cornrows up a level in anyone’s eyes!
So before you think you have to drop your pants or take your top off to show everyone you are a star studded gangster check these out!
So before you read whatever you want into this let’s set aside some not so ground breaking facts. Doesn’t matter if your growing it or simply want good growth you need to have to plan for success in whatever you do.
The basics of skin care is cleanse, tone & moisturise
Obviously or maybe not so obviously, when your cleanse your hair you must condition ( which will close the cuticle ) or the internal moisture of the hair shaft will be liable to decrease causing breakage, split ends and color fading. Yes we heard the stories too that conditioner makes your hair fall out, but we had a little chuckle because it’s a myth!
Conditioner closes the cuticle and makes the outer surface of the hair smooth, reflecting light, protecting the structural integrity of the hair or in basic terms keeping it healthy.
Steps to a healthy hair care regime
Choose a shampoo that looks after your problems, if it’s coloured the choose a shampoo to look after the color etc. Yes Sulfate free shampoo is always our preference as it is less harmful on the quality of the hair. We use and recommend Alfa Parf & Label M products.
You choose a conditioner based on the texture of your hair, regardless of the thickness all hair once it has been shampooed needs conditioning. If the conditioner your using makes it too limp your either using something too strong or possibly applying it on the wrong area, it’s for hair not scalp.
Mask or a leave in conditioner
Now depending on the quality of your hair, you may need a mask which is typically more intense than a regular conditioner and again depending on condition but would be done once a week or fortnight at home.
A leave in conditioner or a protein spray is or hair that is fine and limp, it replaces a typical conditioner and is used every time you shampoo.
Serum, this is a leave in product and used when the cuticle is stubborn AF or your hair is always on the dry side. This is done in conjunction with everything else it doesn’t replace.
So now you know what it takes to daily look after your hair, the more time you invest in getting the right products the less time and money you will need to spend in the salon. Make sure you trim regularly ( every 6-8 week ) regardlessly.
For a lot of people they know what they want but can’t explain it, we decided to make things easier and give you the lowdown on the basic hairdresser coloring terms to help you describe the images in your mind. There will always be a different version of most things when it comes to describing something that you can’t physically see. Color charts ( or shade cards ) are possibly the worst guide to color ever as it’s not hair so it’s an instant misconception on result, shine, tone etc.
We always spend more time to make sure the depth, tone, reflect and undertone of any color is discussed firstly so everyone has a clearer picture of the end result.
Let’s look at some terms used in a salon and break them down
Global color or base color
This is a color applied to your entire head of hair, can be done by itself or st the same time as highlights or foils.
Warm & cool tones
Warm colors refer to red, gold &a copper whilst cool tones are violet ash and flat blondes or browns.
Sadly we all have the friend who thinks she is blonde but it’s more like Garfield orange. That’s brassy.
Now whilst Donald Trump recently referred this technique to some bad gangsters in the USA ( Donald Trump speech ) it is in fact the blending of one color on the roots to a soft transition to another color on the ends without a visable line.
Just like the name suggests it’s like getting your hair and dipping it in a bucket of color. It’s bold.
This is a freehand technique the hair artist uses to create a very natural shift of color throughout the head, it’s random, it can be done with multiple colors and it’s low Maintainence. Beware it should be done by a very trained colorist.
Part line highlights
As the name suggests it’s highlights just on the Partline, can also be called crown lights, tiara highlights, halo highlights and few more but you get the gyst. Can be done by itself or in between when your full head of highlights need doing when the bank balance only allows part payment.
Hair Spa vs Hair Treatment
Well most people think of a certain brand when they think of the term “hair spa” let’s make things basic. Hair spa is basically conditioner or a mask like product, a nice massage and maybe some steam. A treatment is a product that repairs on a cellular level, typically isn’t about massage but can include however is irrelevant to the end result.
This is quite simply the adjustment of the tone of your color, used when going lighter to reduce or deposit certain tones. If your hair is brassy then ( depending on how bad it is! ) this could be the right thing for you.
Now here are a few really common things we get asked or told ( no seriously we do )
I don’t need a full cut just a quick trim, is it cheaper?
I don’t want a lot cut off just the ends!
The color you did 4 weeks ago has grown out! Was it permanent ( as she points out the line which new hair color is showing )
I just had it trimmed 3 months ago it doesn’t need cutting. ( should be every 6 weeks )
Dont leave the color on too long or it will be too dark. ( color is chosen and mixed and timing has zero link to depth of color )
Don’t use conditioner it makes my hair fall out. ( we still hear this in the salon all the time. Conditioner makes your hair smooth hence the loose hair in your mane will slide out regardlessly )
So it’s best to have the right picture references possibly 2-3 together with your correct verbiage.
Consultations are always free so drop into any professional salon and get an idea of what they can do.
No matter how good your profile picture is on Tinder, if you want a second encounter let’s give you a few pointers on how to get that sexy af hair you have always dreamt of.
One thing a lot of our clients tell us who try to get that “just got shagged” hair is that when you end up doing it on yourself it feels messy, chances are you tried too hard. You end up looking in the mirror thinking holly cow I looked like I just got shagged. Well don’t panic here are some pointers to help.
Styling on dirty hair is best, if it’s oily then best to wash & condition it the morning of your night out. If you forgot or got lazy then use some dry shampoo because messy hair that’s oily just looks dirty!
On dry hair using a large curling tong ( 32 inch ) vertically curl two inches from roots leaving the ends out.
Don’t be particular about sections it shouldn’t besectioning challenge starting at the nape try to cover to top in 4 row sections.
After your done, head upside down and a little mess up using finger tips at the roots, a light spray of dry shampoo from approx 30-40 cm away and flip your head upright.
Pull and place a little optional you can add a little curl Creme on sections or a little paste but do not go crazy.
A few things to keep in mind are do not use too much product and once you flip upright don’t take it too much, this is not a pretty little afternoon tea with your girlfriends at the old age home. Your getting ready to impress!
Best worm with ripped denim, a loose vintage shirt, very little makeup and a ” I really don’t care ” what you think attitude.
If you love that shaggy hair you should also check out Shaggy hair
Ever wondered how celebrities like Kim Kardashian, Gigi Hadid to Kendal Jenner all step off a flight looking immaculate? We have decided to make life easier for you because no one wants to be going through customs looking like a drug dealer and go through those invasive searches.
Here is 5 things you need to do
Before getting on the plane, have your hair freshly blown out, use very little product just a serum that’s it ( too much product will create a birds nest at the back of your head)
A low pony tail in a loose elastic to stop it getting frizzy or tangly.
A good neck pillow, apart from being good for your neck it will stop those questionable creases on your face you may wake up too.
For those with straight hair a braid is a perfect go too and will keep everything in order and you can take it out and with a light ruffle of your fingers can look HOT
Things to carry on the plane, we all know we are limited so a 16ml bottle of “Cristali liquid” by Alfa Parf the liquid gold of frizz control plus “Reserection dust” by Label.
Just as they wake you up for landing get these two little saviours out and head to the washroom. A very light sprinkle of resurrection dust ( soaks up excessive oil and adds volume ) two drops of cristali liquid rub it in your hands and add from ends to mid lengths.
In a world where everyone needs to be insta-ready, phone manufacturers selling phones just because of their selfie mode is better than others it makes sense that your hair gets it’s A game on and is photo ready 24/7.
Before you download every photo filter app let’s get a few basics on for your hair to get you channelling Pro vibes.
1. Still stuck on “too placed” hair? It sends uptight vibes and looks posed. Let it be a little free, of course if it looks like you have just been shagged in the back of a car then give it a little lick and pat down.
2. Color plays a big part of the photo, if your hair is dark then make sure there is ample light hitting it ( preferably filtered light ). If the light is coming from behind a dark Color can throw off red or gold and look a little off.
3. Has to be said, having a feed full of side comb-over style flips may give the impression that your hair is either thin on the top or you just don’t know what to do with it.
4. No one wears the same clothes month after month or year after year ( well we all have our favourite pieces that we just do but those are exceptions) your hair should evolve and change even if it’s a slight change.
5. Try playing around with braids and styling products before you get your phone out and try something different, who knows you just may like it.
6. Speak to your hairstylist & get a session on options for your length on styling. Most haircuts can be worn several ways with very little effort.
7. Keep it in top condition and this doesn’t mean weekly visits for ” hair spa’s” this means a constructive dialogue with your hairstylist on Maintainence and condition. At times it can be just adding one product to your routine.
8. Try it completely natural, it’s a fact that hair when cut well, will sit well and move beautifully. There is something carelessly perfect about letting it be free!
9. Have fun, try out some accessories. It could be hair clips, scarves, embellished headbands, coloured bands & elastics add a fun element to your look.
10. As basic as it sounds if you’re like most people your camera lens may be dusty or have finger prints on it so make sure it’s clean before you start clicking away!
Just like styling there are rules but they need to be broken to know what feels right when it comes to your own photos. Make sure it’s fun and not forced. Having an in-depth discussion with your hairstylist with your expectations on what you want your hair to do will get you on the right track.
Products you need!
Alfa Parf cristali liquid – shine and tame the frizz

A lot of you guys get to winter and think damn I should have grown a beard but by the time you do, it’s already the end of winter.
Because a lot of us ( guys ) need a gentle reminder to do even the basic things we decided to let you know the ideal time to start growing your facial short & curlies.
The time to grow it is now!
All our body hair grows on average of 1.25cm per month so unless you want to look like a Norweigan lumberjack you should be good by the time winter sets in if you start now.
Things to do to get it right
1. Trim the edges, if you don’t it can look unkept and a little “homeless” also helps make it appear thicker the more even it is.
2. Trim it overall every 6-8 weeks but the mustache area possible weekly.
3. Wash it several times a day, yes you heard me! If your heading in for a little tongue wrestle the last thing you want to have her smell is the left over chicken Currie you had for lunch you left in your beard in case you got hungry later.
We will see you all in winter looking like true Wolverines!
With over 100 million bikes on the road in India and temperatures that soar upwards of 45 degrees, perspiration can do damage to your scalp.
We have all seen guys wearing a scarf under the helmet in the attempt to soak up excess perspiration yet it’s not enough. Perspiration from the head can be more obvious than any other area of the body so it’s important to protect your skull not only from an accident but also from bacteria and infection.
When we perspire the moisture contains a compilation of water & electrolytes which further contain sodium, chloride, potassium, urea and calcium amongst others. The importance of removing this from your skin & scalp can be detrimental to keeping your hair. For healthy growth of hair is determined by the quality of the scalp and leaving perspiration to dry of your scalp without washing it off will change the balance of your scalp in such a way that can cause hair loss, fungal infection, alopecia along with an entire list of things that will put you off breakfast lunch and dinner for a week.
What can you do to prevent bacteria?
1. Shampoo your hair daily, use a Sulfate free shampoo this will remove any impurities from your scalp and maintain the right PH balance on your scalp for healthy growth.
2. If your scalp is prone to becoming itchy then you should on top of shampooing daily try a peppermint treatment by Label M which has peppermint extract and menthol which acts as a cooling and an anti bacterial.
3. Add texture to your hair, this removes bulk, lightens the amount of hair, cools down your scalp and can make you look on trend.
4. If your wearing a scarf that’s fine just always wash & dry it before you use it again as this can breed nasty bacteria.
5. Do not add oil on your hair or scalp as when you add oil it acts as a conductor of heat and will increase perspiration and trap bacteria on your scalp
Don’t listen to myth on shampoo causing hair loss or oiling as sadly they are not only outdated but scientifically incorrect.
Always wear a helmet to protect your head whilst driving!
It’s perfectly normal to get carried away with a good thing but we need to know when enough is enough. It may be coming into winter or you have just completely forgotten to stop and look in the mirror as part of your morning routine but your beard may becoming a state of its own!
The important fact on beard Maintainence is the shape has to work with your face shape and can very easily add 10-15 kg’s to your look so be careful. Sure if your frowning it for a early 18th century warrior movie, or have just purchased that Harley Davidson then completely ignore this now, you look great!
If you or someone you know is sending Viking vibes a little too much please seek professional help.
Anyone on social media will have seen hundreds if not thousands of pastel colors, some real some fake and possibly a few of you have thought about it ( maybe only for the sheer shock value ). Well before you pick up the phone and call your local salon here are a few facts to think about before you take the plunge in the deep.
1. You can’t create this look in 1 hour, 2 hours and most likely 3 unless your hair is already very light. It needs to be lightened. How much depends on the final result and how dark your hair is.
2. Once your hair is lightened the pastel color is applied, the more even the hair is in depth & tone the more even the pastel tone will be.
3. How long will it last? Well I would typically say 3-4 weeks if it’s looked after but depends on tone, depth etc etc.
4. You have to use a sulfate free shampoo ( detergent free ) to reduce fading and maintain intensity. You have to use conditioner every time you shampoo to make sure cuticle is closed.
5. Can you do it and color it back if you don’t like it? The easy answer is is yes however you need to be sure beforehand unless you have unbelievable condition hair and have loads of time and money or it’s just a waste.
Now there is a lot more to it and we suggest you see someone’s work before trusting anyone with this as it is easy to miss the goal and get average when with a little more effort and training it could have been incredible.
Every season someone will say they are in and others will say they are out, some will say long and over grown others will say short. So basically whoever you believe someone has to be lying or misinformed right?
Bangs always have a place, it’s not about being on point with bangs, it’s about being on point with the overall look/feel you have or going for.
Depending on the overall length, look your going for etc adding or altering your bangs can really change the overall look dramatically.
5 Things to be careful of when getting bangs.
Your hair texture and density have to be taken into account eg; thinner hair the bangs should be one length or close to it or it will appear thinner.
If your hairline & growth pattern is full of attitude, keep the weight and length longer to avoid twists and bends ( unless you want movement in that case perfect )
Never let anyone cut it wet, it will shrink once it’s dry. ( micro bangs the exception )
Don’t be scared to experiment with changing your bangs each visit, it changes the overall look dramatically.
Don’t use too much product in your bangs, it shouldn’t need it, you don’t want product touching & running on your forehead all day.
Now if your keen for a dramatic change but don’t want to cut your hair off why not bang it?
When we are born out hair & skin can be a different color, for some it can be dramatic for me my hair was blonde but it’s not now. Over time your hair and skin change color, it’s life. For you to look natural over time your hair needs to be slightly lighter.
There is more to colouring hair than just covering grey, or having one solid color which can look as fake as wearing a wig! Hair naturally will have various shades, multiple tones from roots to ends and different reflects in light that you will never be able to achieve out of a box!
One of the most common issues we see with people colouring their hair at home is using the wrong color as well as a complete blanket coverage that leaves you looking like, well not as natural as you thought.
Some color myths answered
Can you change your diet to stop your hair going grey? No
Will colouring your hair make it grey? No
Will colouring your hair make it fall out? No
Should the ends be slightly lighter than the roots if I want it to look natural? Yes
If your colouring to cover grey then keep in mind that the darker you color it the faster you will notice the white hair.
If your colouring for attitude or a fashion result then the rules are up to you!
Everyone likes to look their best in their most natural state but does little to none effort to listening when someone offers an honest advice/opinion. Its just like going to the doctors and listening to them about how we should sleep well, eat well, exercise and put away that junk, but do we actually follow whats best for us?! The same goes for when a hairdresser suggests what and how our hair would or could be in our best state we listen in one ear and comes out from the other.
We Instagram stalk all the “It girls” whose hair is effortlessly cool and the most common factor in all of them is getting the right cut and texture into it which helps you to be the wash and go kind of gal. There is something awfully sexy about that effortless, laid back vibe but still holding your whole look together.
There has been a strong shift towards empowered women who wants to look beautiful and polished but don’t want to be slaves to their hair and spends hours on blowdrying every morning, lets be honest it looks a little too placed and hoity toity for an everyday look.
We at Rod Anker Salons give more than 100% into consultation and approach every haircut as a conversation and know what your lifestyle is like, what you want from your hair, so we can tailor make every haircut to your need and textured, without them putting in little to no work into it.

Very proud of Simran Kaur from our Salon at Pullman hotel for taking out first place in the state championships! Winning some cash and now competing in the National finals, where the winner will be off to the Middle East to compete for the Global title against the rest of the world.
It goes without saying how proud of Simran we are and she will be training hard over the coming month in preperation for the Nationals.
Most of you who have ever searched YouTube a make up tutorial you will be familiar with the term “contouring” with make up, its the use of lighter and darker shades to to define or highlight areas of the face be it jaw line, cheek bones etc. This has now moved into assisting in creating the perfect color specifically for your face shape. Everyone has a different face shape and hair texture so its important when you are choosing what color you are going to do that you get the right advice, not just based on what’s in but also what would suit you best after a consultation from the experts.
Its about choosing light and dark tones in certain areas to create depth or shadow on the face and can completely change the way you look! If you are looking for a trend that is unique then look no further because this will not only be on point but bring out the best version of you possible.
Lets look at a few various face shapes so it makes it a little easier to understand how this will change the way you color your hair forever!
When we look at an Oval face we have to expand it a little so it’s about creating lighter shades on the lower lengths and on the underneath of the sides and deeper or darker shades on the top to give the illusion of a slightly wider face
The goal here is to stretch out the look, so adding depth to the ends and lightening around the hairline will do exactly that and give you a more elongated look
Again it is about bringing proportion to the shape, accentuating the length and softening the lines using lighter and darker shades around the ears which adds interest and softness.
Lightening around the jawline will soften the jawline and the lower section of the face, the top layers should be slightly lighter to take the eyes away from the width.
Its never about trying to be someone else, its only ever about trying to be the best version of you possible. If you are coloring your hair and if by chance its a block color then your doing it all wrong, naturally no one has the same color on every strand on their head from roots to ends, its incredibly artificial making hair contouring is the go to technique to either make you look naturally hot or over the top crazy ( the same thing can be done with bright colors be it pastel pink, reds, blues etc )
Its no surprise that we all are dying in the heat and perspiration is a fact of life, even a short walk to the car can make you wetter than a night out at the strip club!
To make sure your scalp is not wet all day and becoming a bacteria farm you need to make sure your using the right products and in the right way to keep your scalp healthy, healthy scalp means healthy hair growth! Your hair once it is visible is dead keratin, the growth is internal, under your scalp and the only really obvious way you can help your growth is making sure your intake is a healthy balance covering all of your dietary needs. Sure its boring to say a balanced diet and a good amount of sleep and your body will function the way it was designed.
We get asked a lot about hair growth, how to grow your hair faster, thicker, healthier etc etc its really the basics you need to get right in order to have the best hair possible. We have put together a checklist to make it a little easier in the hope that next time you come in we can chat about more random things but if you still need help give us a shout!
What shampoo should I use?
Your shampoo should be decided on what your hair, scalp is doing at that particular time. If its the peak of summer you don’t have colour then its fairly possible you need a good cleansing shampoo, if you do have color then the conditioner should be chosen for the color.
Will washing my hair everyday make my hair fall out?
This is not at all true, in fact not washing your hair enough will have more adverse effect on your hair growth than washing it too often. Good quality products is the key and that doesn’t mean you choose the product that you saw on the side of a bus, it means a little research. Of course we will tell you our products are the best like every salon because if they didn’t believe in what they are selling then there is a real problem. We use Label M and Alfa Parf, both internationally known and respected products, we use and recommend those because we truly believe they are the best, its not about pushing, its about having the right products and tools to make sure your hair looks the way it was intended long after you leave the salon.
Conditioner makes my hair fall out!
Conditioner closes the cuticle layer of your hair, sealing in the moisture and making sure it is smooth and tangles free leaving the hair with shine and looking healthy. When you put conditioner in your hair, actually put it in your hair on the ends and work it upwards towards the scalp, using a wide tooth comb starting at the ends comb it through. When your doing this, the hair will become slippery and you will get some loose hairs coming out ( because now its slippery and loose hair that was already out was previously stuck within the other hair ) This is not hair fall this is normal. Having 150-200 approx a day come out is in the space of “normal” sure it can fluctuate and will increase slightly in summer months as we tend to shed a little more hair but overall this is considered normal.
Conditioner makes my hair flat
Conditioner is for the hair, typically the ends so if your using it properly then chances are you using the wrong one! Every time you shampoo, you must condition your hair, if you open the cuticle you must close it!
Serum makes my scalp oily
Wow, yes i hear this one often, hello serum is for your hair not your scalp! Serum on your ends not the scalp
Hair Care 101
A quick tip to help keep the frizz in check is when you have the conditioner on in the shower, using a wide tooth comb starting at the bottom comb the hair through and get rid of all the tangles. With the conditioner in it acts as a lubricant and reduces tearing of the hair. Don’t brush your hair when its dry unless your a cartoon character called Rapunzel as it damages your hair!
Just because a hair care product company saturates the media does NOT mean it is the best! Do your research
While we all thought that Summer was here for the past month or two well guess what, its officially summer in 48 hours and there is more heat heading our way! When it comes to our hair and skin we all suffer from dehydration and no matter what we all read about drinking lots of water at times it becomes difficult for whatever excuse we can come up with be it too busy or plain forgot. I am sure that most people think about their hair hydration only once they are in the salon ( unless your one of the rare ones and in that case congratulations ).
We thought we would make your life easier by giving you a few helpful hints that is far greater than doing a name sake “hair spa” to make sure your hair is at its peak and not like a dried up prawn.
Hair Spa typically is a glorified conditioner, a conditioner closes the cuticle and in doing so will make your hair look and feel better however its temporary. You need to condition every time you shampoo, open the cuticle you have to close it.
A massage will relax you, it won’t do anything else, especially for your hair. Yes it helps with circulation, however so does a full body massage but neither is going to brings miracles.
Oiling your hair- well this is a Myth buster! Oil and water don’t mix right? Your hair is dead before it leaves your scalp, Oil doesn’t penetrate into the skin does it? Now if that isn’t enough think about adding oil on your body and standing out in the sun, it would make your skin burn right? YES same goes with your hair, even if you wash it off there is always a fine layer of residue left which will increase the heat internally and then causing dehydration.
Serum – Easy answer is YES, always after you have washed and conditioned, if you hair goes flat then your using the wrong serum or too much!
Leave in conditioner, again if its too heavy then change the one your using. Every time you shampoo and condition and use serum then a leave in conditioner.
Shampoo Everyday? With extra heat comes perspiration, if you don’t remove that from your scalp then it can create bacteria on your scalp and therefore effect the growth. You should be using a shampoo and conditioner for your hair, if its colored then a sulphate free shampoo to reduce the color fading. Always use a conditioner. 150-200 hairs falling out per day is NORMAL.
Always comb your hair with a wide tooth comb when you have the conditioner in, while your in the shower.
If this doesn’t set things straight then please go and read it again or come visit us!
On Saturday I was talking to a room full of brides to be for Wedding Suttra in there master class, after I felt like I should share with everyone what it is that makes healthy hair or wedding ready hair depending on if your planning a wedding or just want to know what you need to do for healthy hair.
A good hair care regime, this is a hair care plan. A shampoo & conditioner that suits your hair & scalp in your current situation, be it your hair may be dry, colored or damaged etc etc
When you want to achieve anything it cant be done overnight, you need to plan for it, good hair is no different. Trim your hair every 6-8 weeks without fail, this will remove the ends that will be damaged and let you either keep it that length or grow it longer.
Rebonding is not something I encourage in fact we don’t do it at any of our Salons for the following reasons. It’s incredibly dehydrating on the hair, incredibly damaging, gives a completely un natural result and limits your styling for months on end and many more.
Whats the best shampoo to use? I was asked this by almost everyone and I always give the same answer so here it is…. Depending on your hair, the problems your experiencing and the desired result it varies from person to person. Just because of big budget ad’s or famous endoursements does NOT mean it is the best in fact it rarely does. My product of choice is Alfa Parf and Label M.
Blow drying your hair, well this one is the biggest killer of hair happiness of them all. Anyone had a blow dry at almost any salon will know that a lot of stylists will BURN your hair into place rather than dry your hair and set it into place. Hair should not smoke, it’s not normal, if your stylist is making it smoke leave the salon and come see us J
Global color vs highlights or balliage. Why global color is not cool is really simple, your hair naturally always have variation be it from stand to strand as well as from roots to ends, there will always be a variation, this makes it look natural. When you put one color from roots to ends on every strand it looks completly artificial and fake. You can achieve a better result but in a more natural way with a few changes, add a color thats one shade lighter and using the freehand painting effect it will look expensive and natural whilst covering grey.
All in all if your serious about your looks then your hair needs to step it up and you have to put time and energy into it, you cant spend 1 dollar and 10 minutes on your hair and expect it to look like a million bucks it just doesn’t work that way. Investigate, plan and finish your look with the one element that is with you every single day!
Prior Preperation and a little investigation will always get better results than trying to fix anything in the last few minutes.
