Simple Rules for Entry to our Salon

It seems like we need to lay a few rules down sadly to make sure we all are on the same page. Our main goal is to be a safe place for everyone, which includes us as well as you and everyone else we see!

Yes a lot of similar places let you take your mask off, drink coffee, order food and maybe not even wear one while you take a photo or maybe the salon you go too wants to take your photo without a mask for “ just a minute” well sorry that’s not us. We care more about your safety than getting an OOTD photo. We want to stay open, we want you and your family to be safe and we want ours to be safe also. So here goes!

No mask No Entry

Your temperature will be checked and you will need to sanitise your hands upon entry.

Bookings are limited so pls be on time, 5 min +|- is understandable but more than that will inconvenience the entire salon for the entire day. If you know the time you booked in for pls be on time.

We don’t make you wait, please don’t make us wait! If you are late most likely your appointment will be cancelled and you will need to reschedule and payment in advance may be required.

Mask has to stay on the entire time in the salon

No take away food

No water or coffee, tea is available in salon or to be consumed.

No showing us your face, if we need to we will ask for a face selfie from your phone.

You can wear your mask but if we are colouring pls wear one that is disposable or ask and we will provide one for you.

We hope you all understand that spending 2 hours getting your hair done with us means keeping your mask on and being in a safe space. We have maximum 2 people at any time all following the rules, let’s keep it that way! If you want to try any of the above you will be asked to leave immediately without ANY hesitation and not be invited back!

Looking forward to seeing you and if you feel like you would like the salon to yourself, we can block it out for you by prior arrangement just give us a call!

For bookings either call us Monday – Saturday 10-6pm or Dm us on social media.

Return of the 90’s claw clip

Well if you though hair habits haven’t changed this year you are wrong. Whilst a lot has changed throughout the world our personal habits and likes have changed also!

Flashback to the 90’s when you would see on the runway’s the claw clamp being used frequently it’s now a popular tool to be able to put your hair up in a few seconds with no fuss!

If you haven’t been a fan in the past maybe now is the time to give it a try!

Also another very popular trend has been oversized hair clips which sort out a bulk of the hair and complete the look yet keeping it super simple!

How to get it to flip

The way your hair moves and bahaves is largely due to the way its cut. It’s a living part of our body that behaves the way it does for a reason. It’s understanding why and creating the right shape, length and texture to encourage it to do what you want versus what it will try to do naturally.

The back will flick out if the length is just reaching the shoulder or if it doesn’t have weight in the layers
You will find it going sideways once the length hits shoulders if it’s too heavily layered

If this isn’t what you want it’s our job to create the right environment for your hair to do what it’s told rather than leaving it to chance or a blowout for you to feel good and be happy with the way it looks!

Pastel hair colors

Want to get a pastel hair color?

The task of going from dark to pastel colors is one that is shadowed in mystery and hidden agenda. We have tried to make things straight forward for you so taking the decision more informed.

Firstly it’s not a “quick” process nor is it cheap but we will tell you it can be stunning if done right! Going platinum is not a quick task and can take Months

Our co founder Merrylin wanted a pink egirl fade so we took the challenge. Her hair hadn’t been coloured for years so it was completely natural.

Via Merrylin Boro

We only did two sections from the top of the ear to the corner of her bangs. It was lightened from roots to ends for approx 35 min, rinsed and dried then re applied leaving our roots for another 30 minutes. We then wanted to let the hair rest for a few days and the swelling on the cuticle layer to subside.

After first day

The condition was great so we toned it lightly adding a soft ash gold to take the raw look off it. The few days rest would ensure the hair is not going to be damaged.

After first session after toning via Merrylin Boro

But we want to have a pastel color so we need to remove all the warmth out of the hair, putting the pink over it begore the toner above would not have given us a clean color. Fading the pink to white would have been a fairy tale. So away we went after 3 days and re lightened it leaving out the roots for another 30 minutes. We rinsed blast dried it and applied the pink fade and here is the result.

Via Merrylin Boro

The pink is intense and the roots and fades towards the ends and we think it looks hot! Maintenance is simply refreshing the pink every 10-12 washes and the blonde will grow out which will add to the effect and most likely we won’t do. Let’s see!

What is the perfect beard shape for you!

Growing a beard is not hard but getting the right shape & design that compliments your face shape can be.

When she asks you if you know the brand Under Armor

There are a few hacks to understand how you can decide which shape is best, remembering everyone has a combination of face shape so only once seeing your face can we tell. Let’s go through some easy things to remember when deciding what shape is best for you.

The options are literally endless

Now if you have a round face you need to lengthen it, so less hair on the sides and slightly longer.

If you have a Square face then you need to soften it up and round of the edges a little and lengthen it slightly.

Oval is almost open to any beard design so you decide what you like and what looks good.

Long face or high forehead can not have a large beard, it can be stubble but the last thing you want to do is add more length to your face!

Too much hair on top and too much beard!

Remember both the shape of your beard as well as the color plays a big role. You can’t color your beard too much and think it looks natural, it doesn’t! Plus sometimes it will look like you don’t have a mouth!

So once you have worked out which face shape you have, the hairstyle you want and then work on what beard design to grow it into! Always keep it well maintained and clean, using a face or beard wash several times a day and keep it crumb free while eating.
