We see it too often, people getting things done when they don’t need them. Could be keratin thinking it’s going to make dehydrated limp hair full and bouncy to color on ends when it’s black.
A lot of the time it’s habbit that causes us to do what we do and most times it’s not required. We do get told we are expensive but a lot of times we are cheaper than what you are paying because half the things you do in fact don’t need doing!
Are you wasting time, money and destroying your hair for no good reason?
For some people think you can literally just pay extra to fix hair that’s ruined, abuse it for months/years then simply pay a little extra or get the new cool treatment and you have brand new healthy hair but guess what…. you can’t! Your hair doesn’t care where you live, your social status or how much money you spend on it. If you don’t do the right things it will not be healthy!
Here are a few things you need to do to make sure your hair doesn’t need shaving off and starting again! Some you will think you can skip because, well that’s human nature and you think you can do what you want but if you want healthy hair here goes!
Trim every 5-6 weeks! Yes you do and no even if you are trying to grow it then ends need to be removed. Hair typically grows 1-1.5 inches per month so cut less than that and the length keeps getting longer!
Don’t over dry it or end up burning it with heat tools, a blow out shouldn’t destroy your hair if done correctly but sadly a lot of the time it does!
Hair is dead keratin, the growing or alive part of your hair is under the scalp!
Always use conditioner, closes the cuticle making sure the moisture stays in.
Use a heat protector or serum everyday!
Wash it every day or every second day, this keeps the scalp healthy and the PH level of your scalp healthy which in turn creates a healthy place for hair to grow!
Don’t use oil, yes DON’T -it coats the hair, clogs the scalp folicale and the heat that’s generated from the coating dehydrates the hair and makes it dry and brittle. It may look shiny but your hair will feel rough!
No amount of onion juice, curd, beer or oil rubbed onto your scalp is going to do anything other than create bacteria. Anyone who spends time in a salon getting a blow out may or may not know the smoke coming off the client next door is either her hair burning or bacteria & build up burning off the hairshaft! Just because your mum told you and her mum told her and her mums mum told her doesn’t make it correct. There is no quick fix, tablets and vitamins may ( not always ) help supplement vitamins and minerals the body is lacking but take months or even years to see any effect if any!
Now stop doing your home remedies and avoiding getting cut and start looking after your hair!

It’s no secret that our bodies need water but for some of us we still need reminding. No coffee doesn’t count it’s water, plain water you need to drink.

We look for a diet that suits our need, one that includes our favourite foods, one that doesn’t really restrict us at all or change much of what we are already doing because at the end of the day we are lazy creatures.
So before you start googling diet for healthy hair and keep searching for something that looks like what you already eat, know that you need to capture all 5 food groups to be a healthy human and you need 2+ litres of water per day. Once your body is getting what it needs, then everything will function the way it’s meant too!
You can’t make your hair grow faster, you can only get your body to its prime healthy state.
It’s often thought that it needs to be complicated to be believed, could it be as simple as diet and sleep? You think things should be complicated and there are secrets only a specialist knows I guess. Well there are some but the basic foundation of healthy hair and healthy growth is diet.
Like a lot of things, the better quality goes in the better quality comes out, it’s not that hard to understand. If you’re living on junk food and lack 8 hours sleep a day don’t think going to a salon or doctor for any new treatment is going to do anything. It’s not.
Recent results of a study revealed that having fruit daily along with a balanced diet will ensure your body functions the way it was designed and hair growth is within its normal range!
Can certain food increase hair growth? Easy answer is no
Vitamin and supplements do they help? If your not eating healthy they can buy obviously eating healthy is going to be far better than eating crap and taking supplements
Does sleep really effect hair? Yep your body needs 8-10 hours shut eye! A balanced diet covering all 5 food groups daily with 8-10 hours sleep. Hair growth is slightly faster in summer than winter so follow the sunshine around the world and avoid winter is a sure way to get your hair longer faster!
Not a new concept but you can’t expect to be the most functional human possible if you refill daily with toxic waste.
Now we all have our moments when we we top up on a little “junk” like a lot of things it’s ok in moderation but making fast food your staple diet is not a healthy long term option.
There are five food groups and a daily requirement our body needs to be at its potential, just because of your laziness you can not justify not being healthy and then expect great hair, skin, nails etc.
Your hair outside your body ( the visible stuff ) is dead keratin, the growth happens inside your body so before you start thinking about things you can do on the outside make sure your body is all set up for the best production for growth!
Obviously a good balanced diet is needed, a good amount of sleep, adequate hydration, limited stress etc etc and the list goes on. Let’s think about your scalp as the environment, it effects the growth but last time we checked, limited absorption of product, serum or your favorite ” hair spa” is not going to miraculously effect your hair that is under your scalp.
A healthy scalp needs regular shampooing, daily is recommended with a Sulfate free product and never, never put oil on your scalp. It effects the ph level of the scalp area which in turn effects hair growth and not in a good way.
A good diet, good sleeping pattern and good products when regularly shampooing. Sadly eating this or that to try to assist will help as much as eating 300 carrots a day to give you that flushed healthy cheeks lol
