Kind of true even though we haven’t listened to yours, only because its ours that its better I guess but who knows!
We play international music, sorry no Bollywood numbers here only music that we get off on, its not trans, its not hip hop ( although a little 80’s hip hop wouldn’t hurt you, me or anyone actually ) its music that inspires us to create, so I guess with that explanation it should make sense or at least you would hope so.
Nope, we don’t have a TV playing your daily Bollywood soap either, we don’t watch it and honestly a day without it probably won’t hurt you, its called culture try it.
Don’t talk to this guy, don’t be friends with that guy.
It’s ok to have an opinion of things it’s another to tell people what to do, after all it’s your life. Strangely it happens every single day, kids are told what jobs they should have, what to study, what friends to have and yes in 2017 who to marry and where to live. Now without getting into a debate on all of it we think your hair is our battle so it’s important we fight the good fight.
The way we look when we see our ref election changes the way we feel about ourselves, I’m sure your friends and loved ones want you to have a healthy self esteem right?
Have a little fun with your hair, could be mild or it could be dramatic but think of it as an extension of who you are, it’s showing the world your personality on your head.
Hairstylist’s have now been given the term hair artists for the obvious reasons.
They create shape, color all using a natural product to sit and move in a certain way to create a visual form. Using various colors and textures all with the goal to create a look, that with the skill and various techniques allow you to re create it daily for several months. Now that’s Art!
The outline may be the same but what you do with what’s inside the lines defines you!
Education for everything is not about finishing school and boom you know it all, you finish school then it’s starts and you never ever finish!
Hairdressing is a continuos journey of education, new techniques, new products, improving yourself and the way you deliver.
“When your green your growing when your ripe your rotten”
In other words when you think you know everything, is when you should stop because your dead! After 30 years doing what I do I don’t claim to know everything in fact I don’t. Hairdressers around the world spend a small fortune as do salon owners on building the skills, often traveling to all corners of the world to get it.
Success doesn’t come from doing something once, then keep changing it, it comes from doing one thing over and over and improving it each time you do it. Hairdressing is an art that a lifetime of training would never be enough, when you get that success will follow.
When it comes to us as humans it’s exactly the same. Day in day out improving and evolving to be a better person. Imagine if we still acted like we did when we were 14!? I guess there would be a lot of so called adults acting like spoilt brats screaming in bed till 2pm until they got their way!
Go out, get up and make it happen. It’s not a destination it’s a journey!!
We have spoken about this before, but feel it needs to be spoken about more as a lot of people don’t get it. Really doesn’t matter what you believe in, the reality is the words the exit your mouth dictate the person you are perceived to be. Speak with anger, anger follows you around. Speak with love, love will chase you like a dog that hasn’t been fed for a week.
It’s sad that today we still hear people going to work and being spoken too like they are slaves, people going into salons being told there hair is terrible, you walk out in the street people screaming at each other. Where is basic humanity? When was it ok to talk to people or about people like they are less than equal?
Fact is it’s not ok, doesn’t matter if you are born in the back of an auto rickshaw, or in a penthouse there is no difference we all came into the world the same and respect is basic essential. Quite often we are told that some hairdressers use the “tactic” of putting down clients current hair or previous cut simply to make themselves look better when in fact most people see directly through it and understand it’s rude and completely wrong!
We respect everyone the same, we expect it in return as the saying goes ” Only good vibes”
Come and experience hairdressing the way it should be!
Ever been in a situation that it feels like nothing you do is enough, everything is NQR and your falling short of delivering basic? I think we have all been there, you have to drag yourself out of it, the person critiquing needs to cease on the ” this is not right” mumbo jumbo and you need to kind of let it slide over your head and not take it personally otherwise you will end up simply not trying anymore and getting depressed.
Just had a heart to heart with two of our lovely clients who said before coming to us they always had anxiety before visiting a salon due to the stylist’s criticism about there hair, the cut, the color etc.
A professional stylist should never do anything but make you feel comfortable rather than making you feel self conscious of your hair, your look or the decision of who cut your hair last. Visiting a salon is firstly about the work and about making you feel like the best version of you possible.
If your salon is not making you feel good then maybe it’s time for a change!
In a world in which we all are born thinking we have the right to do or be anything we want and you do! Some things money just can’t buy but there are some things it can too!
There was a doctor, a great doctor, not the best doctor but he was good ok very good. He wasn’t so busy so he advertised offering half price operations, good operations, maybe the best, hard to say but they were good.
Public perception was simple and in fact reality, his skills turns out we’re not the best, in fact not that good even a fair bit less than good sadly. His work needed to be discounted, after all it’s a 50/50 chance your going to get through his procedures, which is still better than the 100% without maybe.
When it comes to hair, we believe to give you the best we can not cut corners or it’s only a matter of time before best goes to good then basic then basically no good!
We believe in providing great hair, for a set price that enables us to do it not only today but to be able to train and grow to do it not only next time but next year. Cheap hairdressing is just that and we want to be delivering quality not cheap.
I see hair like it’s a blank canvas, almost the same way I guess as a sculptor would view a piece of marble, rock or wood with endless possibilities.
The future of each piece we create is living walking around for a month, then it is redone, re created, refreshed into a new vision breathing fresh air into the art again. Maybe it’s completely new, maybe it’s just a refresh from the previous creation but always art.
So you think that leaving your hair dry naturally is better than using a dryer well let us explain why its not
Although some stylists often recommend sleeping in damp braids to get beachy waves, turns out air-drying may be more harmful than blow-drying: Water causes strands to swell; over time, this could weaken hair from the inside out. In the study, hair samples that were shampooed and then air-dried for two hours were compared to those blasted at various temperatures. Only the air-dried samples had significant damage to the cell membrane complex, the cement that holds cuticle layers together. That’s not to say that dryers can be used without harm: As the temperature of the air increased, the study found, so did the damage to the outer layers of each strand. The healthiest option, if not the speediest, is to dry on the lowest heat setting, with the dryer held at least six inches away from the head.
So instead of trying the easy braid on wet hair and trying to get it overnight, maybe its time to learn how to do it with a hairdryer and a large curling iron.
Where can you find inspiration when your only seeing the one point of view?
How can you grow and develop if your only listening to the one voice?
I know I’ve spoken about this before but I personally believe you end up morphing into what you see and/or believing it to be the best simply because you don’t have any other reference to calibrate it by.
I’m a little bit of an Instagram addict, not because I care what others are doing but to stay connected to what is happening in the world. There is so much information, inspiration right there in real time it’s bound to keep your battery like mine ( at 5%).
If your not on it or on it but only following your friends or posting selfies then you are missing out!
With the entire world occupied 24 hours a day between looking after people in the real world to attracting people in the on line world, be it for personal or business purposes we all have less and less time for the things we used to have ample time for just a few years ago so it’s no wonder why trends are changing. In order for us to adapt to the world there is always small changes that happen over time so we can survive, sadly some of us at times struggle with change and try and hold on to what we did years ago in the hope that nothing in our world will change.
Well no matter what we do its changing and there is nothing you can do to stop it, embrace it because change is always good no matter how scared you are you have no choice but to ride it as a positive!
With hair trends the move towards more natural and free hair started a few years ago and is now gaining momentum here in India with more and more people looking for ways to break free from getting their same blow out every few days, here is a few tricks to help get a more natural look without much effort.
Comb your hair with a wide tooth comb whilst in the shower with conditioner in it, the conditioner acts as a lubricant and will prevent friction on the hair
Once out of the shower, only pat do not shake- remember the more gentle you are on the hair the less aggravation on the hair so the less frizz
Using a leave in conditioner, serum, moisture crème is all a good idea unless you have super fine hair, but remember lightly and not on the roots
Sea Salt ( Label M is my go to for all texture styling ) should be used the moment you get out of the shower depending on length 4-6 pumps on roots to mid lengths
DONT OVER TOUCH IT – Sometime we get a little over anxious and want to touch it too much, do not play with it, let it be and do not run your fingers through it, this will create frizz
Give these tips a try and I am sure your hair will be looking more relevant and cool
So recently I have had a yearning for inspiration as creatively there are limitations when it comes to hair here in India ( lots of reasons and I’m not complaining just tends to get a little bla after a while not diving into the unknown creatively )
Creative inspiration comes from life even tho it’s a little cliché it’s true. Art has a huge impact on me as an artist and opens up the part of the mind that helps you think outside the box. Too many of us get caught up playing follow the leader, not sure why maybe it’s easier to copy paste compared to taking the risk and doing things different. Anyway here are a few images I have on my phone that caught my eye, I think in a world full of information to stand out, less is best.
