Well there can come a time when you end up looking not as natural as you thought and if no one told you and you figured it out yourself, it’s maybe a little late.
Sure you were born with dark brown ( maybe black hair ) but your pushing 40 and it’s not black any more in fact it’s 70-80% white. You spend an hour in the salon every fortnight getting the regrowth touched up and honestly life has become a drag when it comes to hair?
- Start going one shade lighter so the regrowth difference is not as stark hence you won’t notice it as much. Do this for 6 weeks or two times.
- Highlights, yes this is an option but not blonde! A few highlights on the top layers ( fine) can add another variation to the darkness and distract the eye from the regrowth.
- Avoid cutting it for now, get some extra length so when the time is right removing it will also remove more “black”
- Avoid coloring the ends of your hair, the ends need to appear lighter in order to look natural
When you first started coloring chances are you were not thinking about this time when you would be happy to let the greys be more visible but it’s come. The key to understanding how to manage it is you need to get your coloured hair lighter in order for the regrowth not to be so obvious.
We use a technique called ” Fusion blend ” designed by Rod Anker Salons that gives you freedom as well as a look that is on trend. It is a combination of taking parts of your grey and using that to distract the eye so your left with a more softer blended color that lasts weeks longer without looking bad!
