We all tend to follow treads to some extent, could be because the stores only stock certain things and we have no choice or could be because we all see things work by people all at the same time. Either way it’s a fact but this haircut has been around for a while in and out of the spotlight. We love it because it’s super easy to wear and is almost fuss free!
And if you like it a little longer here you go!
So if you think this could be you, let’s have a look at your hair and see if we can drag you into 2019 looking hot with extra time on your hands!
Come clean, say your sorry, admit when you are wrong, don’t keep unwanted secrets, be honest, stay real, don’t shit talk, smile more, trust more, love harder, love more honest, respect and live the best life with the clearest conscience and mind possible ✌🏻
Most of you who have ever searched YouTube a make up tutorial you will be familiar with the term “contouring” with make up, its the use of lighter and darker shades to to define or highlight areas of the face be it jaw line, cheek bones etc. This has now moved into assisting in creating the perfect color specifically for your face shape. Everyone has a different face shape and hair texture so its important when you are choosing what color you are going to do that you get the right advice, not just based on what’s in but also what would suit you best after a consultation from the experts.
Its about choosing light and dark tones in certain areas to create depth or shadow on the face and can completely change the way you look! If you are looking for a trend that is unique then look no further because this will not only be on point but bring out the best version of you possible.
Lets look at a few various face shapes so it makes it a little easier to understand how this will change the way you color your hair forever!
When we look at an Oval face we have to expand it a little so it’s about creating lighter shades on the lower lengths and on the underneath of the sides and deeper or darker shades on the top to give the illusion of a slightly wider face
Round face shape, The goal here is to stretch out the look, so adding depth to the ends and lightening around the hairline will do exactly that and give you a more elongated look
Square, Again it is about bringing proportion to the shape, accentuating the length and softening the lines using lighter and darker shades around the ears which adds interest and softness.
Heart shape, Lightening around the jawline will soften the jawline and the lower section of the face, the top layers should be slightly lighter to take the eyes away from the width.
Its never about trying to be someone else, its only ever about trying to be the best version of you possible. If you are coloring your hair and if by chance its a block color then your doing it all wrong, naturally no one has the same color on every strand on their head from roots to ends, its incredibly artificial making hair contouring is the go to technique to either make you look naturally hot or over the top crazy ( the same thing can be done with bright colors be it pastel pink, reds, blues etc )
we have evolved as a species so much that we know the difference between the basics and can determine what is basically the same thing, remove the soft packaging and its what you are left with at its core. We all like to think we are different and unique but the sad reality is that a lot of people or businesses are basically the same.
I guess most salons cut hair right, most salons do at the core the same thing but delivered in different ways, but its the quality of the product and the culture of the brand that will set it apart from everyone else. The saying that you only know how good or bad something is, when something goes wrong. Its the reaction, that defines the brand and culture, its the knee jerk reaction from the brand that says or defines who it is.
If you are looking for a salon where the staff are qualified, capable of beautiful hair and have a solid sense of who they are and what they are doing then give us a shout. If you, after reading some of this nonsense think you would like to try us out then chances are you are in the right place.
After over 10 years in India its a common phrase to delay life a little, sorry we couldn’t find you or its difficult to find! Short of floating a blimp balloon above the salon lets make life easy for you so you have to be more creative when you know you’re running late! Now the Senate in the United States struggle to understand google but lets be honest we are all a little smarter than them so lets lay it out for everyone how to find the Salon.

Its not weird to have your account on private, honestly I think it would be nice for a change instead of everyone knowing ( or at least think they know ) what your doing and your life. Following someone or liking an image has become almost as if it holds its own currency, there are people I know very very well and will mention a post that you have made yet never like any of your posts. I find it odd, but I guess each to their own and if thats what they feel like doing and it works for them then fine. Social media should not be such a focus but I guess considering it has bought the entire world and the wealth of information right into your pocket, it kind of does hold a lot of power, both good and bad! But when you have your account set on private know that most people unless its a good friend won’t bother following you, remember you are and will become who you follow!
We have all read that no one posts everything on instagram, its always a little filtered to make sure everything appears the way it should, now with everyone around the world doing it you can imagine that before you know it the bar is being lifted everyday!
If you want fame and fortune then having an account private because you don’t want your family or employer to know who you actually are, will only give you privacy. Sure the constant DM’s some that truly make your day and others that make you feel like you should delete your account get a bit much at times but overall you get out of it whatever you put into it.
Just like writing these posts, having an outlet is for some a very good way to express yourself!
So you’ve destroyed your hair by doing every chemical treatment on the planet because, well because you were told it was needed now they tell you “Mam you need a weekly hair spa” then have the nerve to tell you if you buy 5 you get one free. Like oh we ruined it but to fix it we can save you some money 😫
Problem is if your hair is that fried no amount of treatments will bring it back to life. Prevention is the best treatment yet very few value the word NO when it comes to getting what you want. Now sure there are products that can artificially rebuild the structure of your hair to some extent and will most definately help but a hair spa? Nope it’s basically conditioner in a jar labelled “hair spa” which is a superficial product and won’t do anything much after you have walked out of the salon.
Some salons put you under a steamer, telling you it opens the cuticle and helps penetrate. What it does is swell the hair by heating it up causing the cuticle to feel smooth until the swelling goes down. Yep you think wow it feels better but in fact the next day after you wash it, it’s exactly the same.
Healthy hair is hair that has been looked after by proper applications of color, regular trims and good hair care regime. Just because a salon offers a treatment or service doesn’t mean you should do it.
Prevention is better than cure any day, no down time! We may say no to you to do certain things but it is for your own good!
First of all we focus on cutting hair, not coupons and we spend all of our free time training on becoming better at what we do. It’s no secret that we all like a bargain in fact for some it’s a sport, a way of life. For some things you can afford to be frugal and some things you just can not.
Now we are not saying be stupid or careless with your money because that would be silly, we are saying there is a time and place for everything.
For example if your buying a certain product, same brand & model then you can call around and get various prices but if your buying a service or skill you can not compare prices ever!
Let’s take a mens haircut which you could possible get for 30-40rp underneath the local tree 🌲 now you can spend this or if you had some extra cash you could end up spending 5-6,000rp with the difference being the end result, the finish, the ambience and the overall experience. Now if you’re buying Parle G biscuits and you buy them under a tree for 10rp or from a shop at 40rp then this makes no difference ( as long as storage and use by date is in order ) so this is a time you can bargain until you’re happy.
A service based product varies so much from place to place and by service we don’t mean just simply a nice looking place, it’s about having the right skills set to be able to deliver the promised service. So this can hardly be a sit at home on the phone calling around to get the cheapest price before booking yourself in. If this is your way of looking for the place to go It is not the smartest way to find quality at all.
Times you should not bargain
Laser hair removal
So if you want the best try searching for the best rather than searching discount and you may be surprised that instead of having to spend twice as much to get something done then you will get it done right the first time, saving you both time and money!
You all worry like hell, in fact every single time you see one strand of hair you think you are going bald, yes you do don’t lie!
Its perfectly normal to think about some things and its ok to do your research, science is constantly developing new ideas and medicine so it fairly possible that after we hit the publish button parts of this may be not true lol but highly unlikely ( just saying )
To have some hair fall is completely normal and you can not do anything about it, its natures way. Approx 90% of the follicles on your hair are active and are producing hair growth, whilst the other 10% are dying and the hair will fall out and a new hair will start to grow from that follicle. thats great I hear you saying but what does that mean, how much is abnormal and how much is too much? Well approx 100-150 hairs per day is in the spectrum or normal and you should not be concerned at all! Now because we know you and we know you like to be a little over the top and freak out constantly like you have nothing else in your life to worry about lets put it all into perspective.
If you wash your hair every second day, a lot of the hair from day 2 will still be on your head, possible already fallen but stuck there so when you shampoo your hair or most likely when you apply conditioner it will appear in your hands. Now the conditioner is NOT causing this, it closes the cuticle so makes the hair smooth hence the hair that is already out but tangled amongst other hair will now slide out in your hand. Again this is NORMAL and 2 days of normal hair loss equals 150 times two = 300 hairs. Take that to washing every 3rd day = 450 hairs.
Can you stop hair fall? NO not completely
Is there a hair fall shampoo, yes and its marketing campaign is amazing!
Is there a treatment you can do to make it not fall out, ummmmm no
Hair fall in the above range is normal and not to be worried about, a good diet, a good haircare regime using a sulphate free shampoo and always conditioner and your off to a good start.
We love getting feedback and at times feel we should actually share it so here goes!
Earlier a young man came into the salon and walked in sat down without saying a thing, then said “Shave Karo” when he was told we don’t do shaves he was shocked and said what type of salon are we that doesn’t do shaving.
His suggestion was to put it on the front window ” we don’t do shaves”. Great idea, why didn’t we think of that. 👍🏻
In any salon in any part of the world things work differently but in most salons, you make a booking at a certain time, turn up ( on time ) get your hair done and the world keeps rotating.
Sadly there is the odd occasion we all can run late, it happens and we understand, the odd occasion we do too.
When this happens we call you and would like to think you would do the same, if we are booked out then we will schedule another time that suits both you and us. All this sounds very civil and realistic I know, even more sadly people with a 45 min booking either don’t call or answer the phone when we call or call an hour later and tell us they are running 10 min late because of traffic.
We hold appointments for 10 min then if we can’t get hold of you, you haven’t called then we will take another booking in place of you. When we have a list of people who want that slot it’s not fair not too.
Now repeat this twice and we can’t make bookings for you, you will have to drop in and try your luck.
If you have a booking and don’t pick up our reminder ( so you can keep the booking maybe but maybe not kind of attitude) at the end of that day we cancel it if we have not been able to get in touch ( we will try calling you three times ). We will give that time to someone else.
Please respect our time as much as we love doing hair, we can’t operate blocking times and not having people turn up because the traffic, kids, dogs, maids, driver or whatever creative excuse you can imagine. We are humans and get it but there is two sides to the coin. ✌🏻❤️
Kind of true even though we haven’t listened to yours, only because its ours that its better I guess but who knows!
We play international music, sorry no Bollywood numbers here only music that we get off on, its not trans, its not hip hop ( although a little 80’s hip hop wouldn’t hurt you, me or anyone actually ) its music that inspires us to create, so I guess with that explanation it should make sense or at least you would hope so.
Nope, we don’t have a TV playing your daily Bollywood soap either, we don’t watch it and honestly a day without it probably won’t hurt you, its called culture try it.
We all have one of those friends or seen a commercial that claims if you use a certain product or use their product your life will be complete. We are the best, this product is unique etc etc 💤
Or your friend has verbal diarrhoea that clearly doesn’t remember the stories they told you 3 min back that contradicts the current story.
Well we don’t tell you 💩 in fact we have been told we are too honest, we spend a lot of time writing this nonsense to make sure you get it. No your life won’t be complete if you come to us, you will have better hair for sure, may or may not be able to fix a total mess but we will give you a plan too!
They say that people form an opinion of you in the first 30 seconds of meeting, so unless you have a kick ass tinder profile or only meet people at 3am when the lights are off you need have your A game on!

Now and raise your chances of giving the best first impression!
Seems like the word “influencer” is the new buzz word everyone wants to add to their bio like it’s going to somehow give them the ability to be a shape shifter or an ability to change people’s buying Habbits.
Being labelled this is not your role it’s others role to label you and not your bff sitting at home watching re runs of 90’s sitcoms tagging you in memes 5 times per hour saying OMG I Iove your feed, girl great click!
You’re a person with an Instagram account, its completely different if a company or a respected publication or brand labels you, but sorry to be the bearer of bad news adding it on your bio because you want it is like adding “Millionare” because one day you want to be rich.
Sadly you sit in the back of the car, even shouting at the top of your lungs for the driver to change lanes, he doesn’t listen to you so how on earth could you influence others. If you post some nice pictures ( or you call clicks) that’s great, you also write in your posts that ” sorry I haven’t posted in a while, been super busy” sweetheart no one is even bothered. We are surprised that there are some that buy followers and likes and think that by doing this in some strange way will make them famous or successful, when there is nothing more than surface face which lasts about 3-7 seconds after someone stumbles on your profile then realises that that ” Click” you posted looking hideous has thousand likes and the link in your bio is a dead end.
Try being the best at whatever you are doing, rather than trying to scam success, chances are if its meant to be you will become famous at what you actually do, unless thats nothing then your in trouble!
This is not aimed at one person this is based on so many adding this word into their Bio.
If you have ever been in the situation were you end up going back time and time again to the same salon when you are not 100% happy, its like reheating Mc Donalds French fries the day after and expecting it to taste fresh.
It’s not going too, it will taste like you expect reheated Mc Donalds fries to tastes like.
We have been asked this a LOT, its kind of one of those things that even after you are told it feels like you are missing something, like we are holding back one deep dark secret! There is a lot of hairstylists we have been told that over work the hair and create work making it look like its effortless ( which has the opposite effect! )
Well the way we feel about the “Diffuser” pictured above being taken for a ride is more than love! Its the one tool that no matter what, can’t be replaced, it is basic and been around for years but brilliant!
Not an expensive tool, fits most hairdryers and once on disperses the heat and air to create a “soft blow” ( Pun intended! ) Using it slowly and gently to dry your hair, lightly scrunching and we mean lightly and ry it till your hair is about 80% dry then STOP!
Now, if you need a little help then bring your hairdryer and diffuser into the salon we will give you a one on one class on how to create beautiful natural texture that doesn’t look like overdone hair trying to be cool.
So before you start building up your “natural” look hair think twice about using product, possibly a serum but thats about it, remember the more product you use the more it will look simply messy and not have that natural texture to it!
Today it’s 2018 and most people are connected to the world and know what’s right and what’s wrong but sadly there are still a few that think being a boss means being rude, obnoxious and authoritarian.
They dictate to staff what to do, give them literally no room to think or do what they are there to do and wonder why they have to sit in the office 7 days a week.
I have seen the hairdressing Industry grow rapidly over the last 10 years in India and have witnessed first hand the lack of understanding of what it is that a salon is meant to be providing.
It’s a people’s business and you have to ask yourself if you can’t get it right with the people you spend the majority of the day with, chances are it’s not going to be right with the people that come in and pay.
Look at it like this, imagine just moments before the doctor operates on you, you literally go crazy at him, insult him, his family and everyone he has ever spoken too. Do you really think that this is going to put him in the right mood to be his best?
The reality is, the last thing he will be wanting to do is the operation!
Yet daily owners, managers have created this ” me & them” attitude where the staff come to work because they are threatened and do not feel like they have an option. Free speech to clients and fellow staff is so far fetched it isn’t an option. Sad to think people think they can treat people like this but they do and in a lot of situations end up doing the most stupid things simply because they are told they have too, so they do it regardless of knowing its wrong for the client.
I do get asked a bit to do things I don’t think need doing ( a color, a service or cut whatever ) and when I say no it’s not needed the reaction is always the same, utter shock and disbelief. I feel that doesn’t matter if it’s a blog, a post, a discussion on social media or staff, it’s the same tone, the same message and the same level of respect.
So when I say please don’t come back, it’s because your rude, if I’m respectful of the people I work with, everyone needs to be!
Earlier this month our phones went down on and off for a few days, not sure why but if you walk around with your head in your phone maybe you wouldn’t see the fact that there is 798 connections for your house when it only requires one! Well finally its all sorted. We don’t have an alternative mobile like a lot of businesses but what we do have is an awesome social media team which will reply as soon as physically possible.
Now that doesn’t mean if you are trying to get blow out booking made at 3am on your way back from the club, chances are no one will answer or if they do, be aware the sarcasm may fly!
Either way make sure you are following us on social media and feel free to use any of them to reach out!
It’s come to our attention that in some parts of the world, winter means rain, snow and a lot of moisture but here in India it means cold and dry! You should be watering your plants daily as well as moisturising your hair more often!
How do you do that we hear you asking?
Well it’s fairly easy;
Firstly regular trims regardless of the length or your goal length the ends need to be removed every 6-8 weeks.
Always use a conditioner, shampoo opens the cuticle, condition closes so the internal structure of your hair will stay intact.
Do NOT use oil, yes you thought oil was your go too but it costs the hair, creates barrier that magnifies heat so in fact does the opposite to what you think. Just because it’s what was told to you doesn’t make it fact.
Treatments are good if it’s actually a repairing moisture treatment. Our Linseed treatment has beeswax and linseed oil extract which packs moisture into the hair. Can do this every 6 weeks but rarely more is needed.
Don’t be sucked into doing “hair spa” because often they are just a conditioner and a little massage which is not going to do squat.
It’s no secret that we say what we feel, in fact sometimes it a little too much but better to be an open book rather than an infomercial trying to sell something that’s a hit and miss we think!
So that being said here we go, if you think that we are too expensive, we should do nails, you want your waxing done while your color is on, you want to be called Mam and not Sharon, you think you can give us a blow by blow how to do your hair, eat your paneer tikka while your getting your puffy blow out, think you can buy one get one free or try waiting till 7pm thinking we are a bar and suddenly it’s “happy hour” then please scroll back up and take a look at the image again.
If you want real cool hair then your more than welcome 🙏🏻
Once you have decided the technique of balayage you are left with the color and the amount to choose from. It can end up being either too much ( in a lot of cases ) or you may think not enough.
The idea of balayage in itself is subtle and given the fact that it isn’t done at the roots it is meant to be a more natural approach to colouring. Do you go ash, can it go ash, should you still be a warm blonde. All these questions can be talked about when you are consulting the stylist depending on your skin tone and the overall look you had in mind.
Yes it’s cool and if it is done the right way can last months and months before you need to do it again.
After almost 10 years in India I am still in awe of its diversity and energy, as much as the simple things are draining at times the people and the culture is the reason I am still here!
I’m serious about a few things and after Diwali pollution always gets bad so we spent a few days at Neemrana Fort, drove myself ( under 2 hours) and we spent the first day taking random photos of the blue sky 🤭.
Everyone thinks we travel a lot, maybe to some we do but this type of quick road trips have to be our favourite especially Neemrana which always make you feel like you are the only person there and the regional food is yum!
Back in Delhi and although the sky is blue today it has been bad. I get asked a lot how to protect your hair when it’s so bad, wash it daily! Your hair and scalp will attract the dust but the pollution and the last thing you should be doing is let it sit there any longer than you should. If you are outside, cover it up and always use a conditioner ( which closes the cuticle ).
So spend a few nights throughout these cloudy times exploring their properties and get the detox you need!
Seriously the thought of doing it for you everyday isn’t putting a smile on our face so can’t imagine it would you!
But the time wasted getting a blow out 2-3 times a week is kind of crazy so we will teach you how to do it yourself. Basically we only want to see you when your desperate, think of us as your last choice hair booty 😂
Funny how a lot of companies pay a lot of money to find information out, get the right data etc. seriously guys you have no idea the things we either get told or hear! Like would make you cringe, it’s no wonder why I’m bald!
We don’t kiss and tell so relax it’s not going in our status but we are looking for a good therapist 😛
They say visiting the salon is like a therapy session, it should be. Come see us, unload it’s a safe place.
Chances are, (unless you are living under a rock) you know what SLS or Sodium Laureth Sulfate is, if you don’t in lame terms it’s detergent. A lot of shampoo’s have it, washing detergent has it along with floor cleaner, car degreaser and the list goes on.
It creates the mass of bubbles, it also can remove the expensive color quicker than you expect!
While a Sulfate free shampoo will still bubble and clean it uses natural surfactants to cleanse that is more mild on hair and skin and will maintain your color and condition of hair and skin.
Flip the bottle over and read the ingredients to know more!
If you have ever been out on the social circuit ( yeah it’s a circuit ) in delhi you would have seen it worn by a few very well spoken ladies, in fact maybe your friends Auntie, or mine who knows! The reality to get a good Balayage is not hard but you you continually do it, it ends up looking like a Solid mass of gold!
Now unless you are one of those style freaks that likes to match your shoes with your bag and trying to get the hair in the same family of tone ( please don’t ) you need help!
Neither of these photos have filters or have been adjusted in any way btw
A lot of the time the problem is the hairstylist in fact did what you asked for, rather than saying no. Sometimes when your hair is dark and you all want ash blonde, it’s more complex than a simple Balayage so needs a firmer understanding of color, lightening and the underlying tones that your hair will throw off as it gets lighter.
What we did here is reverse Balayage ( darker color ) then a smokey ask toner over it to blend it. We think it looks great!
If you have gone too far and it’s looking like trash or need help, pls call us on 01141010011
One sure way not to get the color of your dreams is to get on the phone and call every salon asking for a deal! In fact it’s the one sure way not to get it!
Creating the color rarely involves pulling a tube off the shelf and putting it in a bowl and applying it on your hair. There is more to colouring hair that that. Everyone’s hair reacts differently and depends on what your hair has in it at the time ( pre color, oil treatments, prior color history, condition, underlying color etc etc ).
Now no one walks into a store and randomly picks something off the shelf without asking the price unless it’s the dollar store so we get it. If you would like a certain color the best thing to do is drop in and speak to us and see how much and in fact if it’s possible because sometimes going from black to ash white in under an hour is not possible and not so cheap!
I wasn’t going to bother coming just for a blowdry so I went to my local and got a blowout!
Well well isn’t that handy, you can not expect to only stress about condition every time you get a cut or just before every color! If you have ever had a bad blow out ( by bad I mean burnt ) you know what I mean by damage.
A few days back i saw what a burn out looked like and in one sitting the hair was taken from healthy to burnt and needed cutting desperately in less than 25 min by no less than the 4 people that did it! Yes 4 because you said jaldi jaldi!
While you may save time in traffic, what you will get is a problem that taken longer to fix! Be careful, a blow out can do as much damage as a bad color!
Things come and go, today’s BFF is tomorrow’s stranger and while at the time it may be sad, it’s life!
What you once considered your one true go too, turns out is as fake as the ones you shamed, but hey at the time it felt authentic and everyone saw it so it must of been real?
Chances are most probably saw through it, I guess you were clouded by the image you saw. You deleted messages explaining what it was, although not all and it was only a matter of time before it was known you actually lied, it wasn’t real. You were clever in your cover up but those photos as much as you thought they were references don’t add up!
You had it all but that one small cover up was the last straw!
Just be honest, tell the truth it’s better for everyone!
It’s not natural it’s a color and those photos to your hairdresser are not your friends!
Better than balayage, it’s the new balayage 2.1 muted and softer so you can lie to all your friends and tell them it’s natural!
Its easy to shout out and say whats wrong, but to be honest it has to be said as a lot of continued promotions or money spent simply by continually doing the same thing and not evolving. We get asked a lot to do ” collabs” and to be honest its not that we don’t want too its that the vast amount of requests are for unattainable looks that even if the hair could do it, it would take 7-8 hours of work and the upkeep is unrealistic. But going back to marketing or the loose term of marketing especially in India is that its driven by the wrong people, at times the same people who are hardly online, hardly know whats new or current or are even worse, stuck 10 years back with attitudes that are outdated.
I don’t think we have it right, so take a chill pill we are not pointing fingers but simply laying the facts out on the table. If you want to be connected to the right people for your brand, you have to think like the person who you are targeting which kind of makes sense and the 101 of any marketing campaign right? Well if you think about the people that your target audience would interact with, they are the people you should be reaching out too, rather set people that have the ” influencer” in their bio on instagram. When I get asked about which hotel do I recommend from our recent trip to Egypt, not once but 5 times in the first 4 days once we got back home it made me realise that my following in fact actually had a synergy with what I like or in some strange way thought well if they can do it, maybe I should too.
It still shocks me that no matter what amount of money brands pour into media they still have not understood the power of free content and the strength of your own media handle. If your catchment is large or small it really doesn’t matter, its about having the right, relatable content that people can identify with that will set you apart. Sure a $100k television marketing campaign may help, but considering the rate at which people ae departing paid television I suspect it will be a hit and miss for most evolving brands. Maybe a good marketing strategy for brands would be to target the brands that are not making that evolution to social media and start producing those products and dominate that space so when the older brands realise they need to change, it will be too late.
Enough of highly curated content with only your set network of influencers or key people, its time to get it right and spread the exposure out to the right people that have the right following!
It’s not an uncommon question to ask someone ” what do you do” or ” where are you from” with the unsaid rational that you want to be able to streamline or adjust the conversation accordingly. The problem with these two questions ( which are almost predictable almost with everyone ) is that they are totally irrelevant to who the person actually is. Imagine asking Warren Buffet where he was born, or Rihanna who was born in a small village, Obama who wasn’t born as a president. It’s because you, we sadly think that by knowing the location of someone’s birth can tell you about them, it doesn’t. It in fact shows how narrow minded the person asking is.
What someone does for a living, the job they do, is not going to tell you anything you won’t know anyway. Now if these are just opening questions to start a conversation, I suggest you get new opening lines as these are not going to get much happening. Try ” what do you do for fun?” Or ” what is your dream job” questions like this will give you real insight into someone’s personality which is what you actually wanted.
Keep in mind, your filter on location or job title is your issue and your filter it’s not fact nor does it dictate any actual proof about someone, who they are or their character.
We all say you should love what you see, embrace who you are and be you right?!
But some days you wake up feeling like Shrek and no matter how much positive quotes you consume it just isn’t going to help. Life can be super stressful with deadlines and obligations, let alone the constant influx of negative vibes that you just can’t shake.
For those days, we are here for a little pick me up, a little makeover change or a little tweak as we like to call it! It may be just a blow out, or could be a complete change either way it’s proven that a visit to your hairdresser can lift your mood!
Save our number for that day, if it’s not today then enjoy the day you know you look great 👍🏻
Some people will proudly tell us they go to a local salon for a blow out when it’s last minute. We don’t have a problem with it, the only problem is it’s destroying your hair!
Often ( we are not saying it’s everyone but common enough to write this ) you will have 2 even at times 3 people pulling tugging and burning the hair at epic speeds in order to get you out as fast as possible. The issue is that one or two blow dry’s like this is enough to screw your hair up for the next 3-4 months.
It’s counter productive to spend the time and money getting your hair right, only to ruin it on a random blow out.
The excessive heat damage in one or two sittings can be enough to completely change the texture and condition of your hair so be careful who you trust, cheap and convenient isn’t always bad but a lot of time it comes with a lot of corners cut.
We get asked a lot when are we open, then usually get told it’s 10 min too early or 5 min too late. We are open the following hours,
Monday – Saturday 10am – 8pm
Sunday’s 11am – 6pm
Now the reason we are open less on a Sunday is simply so our team can get some family time just like everyone else. We can open after hours and do open early, if it’s made prior and comes with a surcharge.
So if you want to get in before work, no problem but you better keep it!
You can either call 01141010011 dm us on social media, please note early or after hours appointments won’t be entertained for someone who has not been before & all no shows incur 100% payment
Here is the thing, you want to grow it but you still need to cut it every 6 weeks!
I know what your thinking and if you maintain less being cut off then obviously it will still get longer, makes sense right?
What happens when you don’t remove split or damaged ends is that the split travels up the hairshaft and more is needed to be cut off. The frayed, Brocken ends make it look dry, out of shape and behave badly ( more than a 3 year old coming off a sugar high ).
Trim every 6 weeks, even if it’s half of what has grown or less, as your hair grows it will be healthy. Prevention is better than cure!
Every now and then we get bored with our clothes, work, routine, life and everything just becomes bla. Its sometimes your perception of what you think versus reality but it still has the same effect, you feel flat.
That stupid saying that ” Change is as good as a holiday” is utter bollocks, give me a beach holiday and keep my hair looking the same anyday ( but I guess it has some merit, since it’s about escaping). If you have never had a change of style, semi drastic then you have never felt the immediate power boost to your inner self, that’s if it suits and done correctly.
There is a very simply rule of thumb we go by and it works 90% of the time, to be able to get you in the right head space if you are unsure of what change you are after.
Firstly understand you don’t have to know what you want, that we can work out with you ( a good hairstylist will ask a lot of questions, almost more than the FBI ). What you do need to know is, you want a change. Sounds odd hearing this, we know but often we get people who don’t want anything off the length, no layers, no bangs, no color change but desperate for a change. 😳
Susan, if you don’t change something we can’t change anything.
When you want to get a color, it’s always a trade off between what is hot and on trend as well as high Maintainence right? After all no one wants a color they need to redo every few weeks, that’s just not practical or cool!
The trick is using multiple tones to add the overall color, the use of varies shades adds depth and texture ( possibly the most over used word ). If it’s highlights you are looking for then using two different colours it changes the way it looks dramatically but yet keeps it low Maintainence. If you go for one color, chances are with less variation the natural hair will be visible faster.
With balayage you are best to keep it to one color and don’t go as light, it looks best when it’s more natural and as if it’s happened over time in the sun. Don’t get fooled by thinking more is better, less is best when colouring your hair typically.
I have known so many people in my life that have had that knee jerk comment ” I will be happy when”!
Could be I will be happy when I’m on the beach, happy when you get the new job, happy when something is over, happy when you have money in the bank etc etc. I never got it, it’s like you give power to the situation and are going to be constantly waiting for something to happen before you are happy, which is kind of stupid.
No matter how many followers you have, what color the tick is or even if your on social media, we are all the same! Stop thinking you will be happy when and start being happy now! Sure you may have been screwed over, things didn’t turn out the way you hoped or even the right people all turned out to be wrong. It’s a moment, it’s not forever!
The most famous, well known or successful people I have ever met no matter what the end goal is, all say the same thing. No matter what you achieve, by the time you achieve it, you have already moved onto a bigger goal so you never feel like you have made it.
Destination happiness is a mystery destination you will never reach regardless of how well your last post fetched numbers!
There is has and always will be some trend food that claims to make your hair grow faster, thicker and healthier and this one is nothing short of a miracle!
The reality is very different and whilst you have another tab open on hacks to increase your Instagram following, just like that tab too it’s all kind of crap!
Your intake is part of what determines hair growth but it’s also genetic, so I guess a cream, lotion or magic berry from the amazon isn’t going to do that much.
There are 5 basic food groups ( google it ) eat from all the required groups daily and you will set your body up for success. Could be training for a marathon or simply wanting to be healthy, it’s the fuel your body needs to function at its best.
Supplements are ok to some extent but understand if something like “folate” helps hair grow, eating folate rich foods and then taking folate tablets isn’t going to double up your growth. Basic common sense, add some of that to your diet and eat healthy, not for a week and expect results it’s more like a lifestyle than a fad.
No food can stop hair fall, it’s like trying to stop your nails growing, you can’t.
If you take a look in the mirror and your a little honest with yourself, just for this exercise ok then you can go back to denial.
If your face shape is slightly long, oval or oblong you can not have long hair and it’s that simple. Look at the image below and try to get it, the hair can either enhance your face shape and make it look longer, or balance it out and make it look more balanced.
Your not ugly it’s just an balance between getting it right and having the hair you think you want!
For more info on what is your perfect length, give us a call on phone 📞 01141010011
I kid you not I think if we just write down the questions we get asked, it would make a great comedy skit. Jokes aside and not putting you all down ok so chill out!
The darker the hair, the more red pigment, so regardless of if you are Indian, Chinese, Australian, Pakistani or British hair is the same. The Lighter the hair the easier or shall we say the more achievable it is.
Can we give you a cost?
Easy answer is no because it might go white in 2 applications, it also might take 6 applications over 2 weeks and several toners.
Is it possible?
It’s not up to our skills ( not in an arrogant way ) it’s up to your hair! Several layers of color, the odd keratin treatment and a few fools in there, chances are it will combust before it goes ash!
How long will it take?
Anywhere between 4 hours and 72 hours, is that rough enough for you?
How long will it last?
The tone will change over two weeks and may need doing again. The hair lightness will be there until it grows out! ( you will see dark spots in 2-3 days lol yes 2-3 days)
Between 15,000 – 52,000 rp plus taxes just for the color.
Will it hurt?
Your pocket, yes! Your scalp…. well a bit yes. Imagine not as bad as childbirth but more than a tattoo.
So you have saved up spent hours in the salon and you love the color only to find it wash out or the intensity has washed out after a week. We hear this often and typically one of the biggest causes is wrong shampoo!
Sulfate or SLS will strip the tone of the color faster than anything else, use a sulfate free shampoo!
Yes we stock it, in fact all our shampoo is SLS free.
I guess you could safely say some are still running their salon like a parlour and thats fine for them but to understand the business better you have to understand that this is a people’s business and its about people and the experience you offer.
Because of our setup, being a boutique style operation from time to time we get people offering opinions of what we could do to be packed ( in their opinion ) or to be busier. We don’t jam people into the salon and run on time so its rare that you would see dozens of people standing around waiting. With an occupancy over 50% we cant afford to be busier than what we are, I guess from the outside it may look steady but not overly busy but with the level of work we do, the time is needed in order to maintain the standard so we will keep things as they are for now.
I think that India has changed dramatically over the time I have been here, with family owned business that have run perfectly fine for generations suddenly finding themselves needing to reinvent themselves and not knowing how. We have entered the market with a different mindset, our target market we understand and know what they are after and where they look for it, its not a secret and we don’t try to hide it. Sure we have our own challenges and they will always be there, but its knowing what you are doing and why you are doing itthat defines the end result.
Retail evolved when the customer realised that buying on line was easier and less fuss, yet brands still push majority of there marketing budgets into store based sales and print advertising when in fact the ones that have the money are rarely driven by price rather quality and authenticity. A time when almost every retail store has a A-frame outside saying 20-50% off for a limited time and its been there for months.
Do these type of price driven strategies work? I really don’t think they do, in fact I think they drive you further into a hole that you will struggle for many years to get out of. Now obviously I can already hear you say money is a factor, its ok for you and your clients that can afford you but what about the rest of the world right? Wrong, its quality that you are selling and experience, if you are just selling an object and nothing more, then its a different game you need to play, but if its a service or an experience that the consumer will have then its 100% the quality of the way that service is being delivered.
Its not arrogance when you know what you are doing, or simplicity in approach or appearance for not knowing our shit!
Years ago no one would even bother doing their own hair, it was something that you simply didn’t do yourself. Now we all have a life and a lot to fit into every day so its no surprise that heading to the salon for a blow out is a luxury in terms of time, let alone money. We get that and will always give advice on how to manage your own hair daily, obviously its one thing to get the right haircut that works, technically sound in order to be able to behave even on the worst days, another thing to know how to style it and manage it yourself.
A technically sound haircut, that works long after you have left the salon with the right tools and know how to be able to manage it daily!
It’s no wonder we don’t get time to head to salons like we used too years back, life is jam packed and getting the basics ticked off is hard enough let alone “me time” in a salon right?
It’s one of our things, if you want to call it that. We don’t create a “blow dry” culture with the work we do, not intentional and yes we do blow dry’s but our cut isn’t meant to be forced fed dry or into place.
I’m sure a lot of you have been to a salon and had not one not two but maybe even three people tugging at your hair all at the same time, certainly not relaxing or good for your hair. A good cut should move and to some extent sit into place with little effort.
Gone are the days of overdone hair that is more like an extra from a old English black and white movie, it looks old.
Saying all that, if you eat your hair done, drop us a message on Facebook or Instagram or give us a call, promise you will enjoy it.
You tell yourself little things throughout the day, it’s the mind chatter that will make you or break you. I’m sure you’ve heard it before but it’s hard to direct that little voice that’s job is literally to doubt everything you do or think.
Remember when you were younger and you got dressed up maybe as a super hero and you actually thought you had super powers?!
Imagine if as an adult you believed in yourself even half that much, life would be amazing right?
I think it’s about time you gave the little voice inside your head some zanax and you started to actually take control of what you want, believe in yourself and have that childish “that anything is possible attitude” well before life have you reason to think it wasn’t easy.
I doubt many look at themselves naked and would be like wow, perfection sadly we just don’t do it but maybe we should! Imagine if we only thought about ourselves in a positive light?
The reality is that if you actually believe it, you are more likely to achieve it and it’s that simple, so it only adds weight to the thought that it pays to have positive self talk.
Create the right dialogue with yourself to be uplifting and positive.
Who would have thought that hair trends instead of starting on the runway would in fact start online! The glass hair trend is exactly what you imagine after hearing the name and it started via none other than Kim Kardashian and followed shortly by Lucy Hale & Jennifer Yepez all looking smooth, shinny and perfectly styled straight hair. So what is it and how do you get it, well the look is a bob ( and obviously length variations can be different ) but its healthy looking and preferably feeling hair. Its kind of basic if you think about it and if your hair is fried then its going to take time and a little effort from you to be able to get there!
image via allure.com
Firstly the hair is cut into a very sharp boob that has no angles and is the one length, it needs to be the one length otherwise the hair will become flyaway from the layers and will be harder to get that smooth finish that is required for the look. What can be done is a clear gloss color, which is a color that is completely clear, this adds a coating of clear to help reflect light and give it more shine. Styling is done gently and depending on the hair texture you may need to iron it gently. Using a heat protecting serum and a light spray but a fair amount to ensure that the humidity doesn’t interrupt with the finish!
Sure combined we have approx 730,000 followers combined between brand and our personal accounts on social media and it’s by no means a large number in today’s reality and increasing move onto social networks for youth in India. There are a lot of users that just aren’t into it and only post every year once maybe twice without feeling a tight chest after not having posted for a week.
What is interesting is that we all post positive images and at times some will go out of the way, even country to make the feed look good. Not many will post an ugly photo and talk about how crap the day was or how depressed they are, it doesn’t sell right!?
We have now positioned ourselves and everyone who comes after us as a base line to “life is perfect”. I have experienced everything from it’s ok for you, your life is perfect or don’t worry it wouldn’t affect you. Now whilst I can easily say it’s not, I am blessed to have the life I have and it hasn’t been easy and continues not to be. Did we work for it, hell yes! Did we plan for it and work on that plan continuously until we got what we wanted, yes and continue to do it! Haven’t reached were we want to yet but can assure you we will!
The impression of always on holidays or only positive things happening is called filtering your outflow on social media and everyone does it! Your more likely to be attracted to a feed of positive and I’m fairly sure your not searching “depressive quotes” to use as your caption, unless your an attention seeker. Now social media is fun and if you want it to be fun treat it like that, used for marketing or showcasing what you do it’s an amazing tool that without a doubt has changed the game forever.
Fun fact for everyone, no ones life is that perfect, it’s what you make of it. Sure life is bloody amazing and I feel blessed every day I wake up, beautiful house, beautiful partner, self employed, great friends and food on the table but let’s be honest. That song after a few times heard is kinda boring.
Life is hard, it will hurt, you do need to work, nothing comes easy, you will loose at some point, nothing is forever and no one cares. Let that sink in for 15 seconds stand up and work your butt off to reach your goals rather than thinking about that private jet you should be buying. Although once we get ours, trust me will be posting pictures daily just for you haters 👍🏻
We get asked a lot can I have ash blonde a LOT! So here are some hard facts you should know before ordering it like it’s a plate of chicken tikka at the local dhaba!
No matter what “treatment” you think you have researched, there IS a limit to what your hair will withstand and what you have had done over the last 6-12 months will partially determine if it falls out, snaps off or not!
If your hair has never looked like the above photo, your lucky 🍀. If you want to go blonde understand if it’s done incorrectly this can happen fairly easily if it’s done incorrectly. So if your wondering what the worst thing can happen, take at look at this. That’s the worst!
This is the reason why we are brutally honest, your welcome
It’s been 2 1/2 years Jason has put in learning the art of hair, how it moves, shakes and what works and doesn’t work. It’s more training than 95% of people that cut hair have had in India and we are super proud of him being ready to rock!
Now to celebrate sure we will get cake 🍰 and possible the odd donut or two but we wanted you guys to have the chance to experience his work first hand.
So yes as you can see his more like an artist and is an integral part of our Team!
If you want to get your hair done with Jason then you have to be quick as this is not going to happen again and ONLY for 2 days.
Sunday 19th 11-6pm
Monday 20th 10-8
Get your Mens haircut @100rp if you come in and say #eyecandy and you get it for 100 bucks! Crazy we know and doing it for the simple reason to get you to experience the difference.
Now because we know some will be busy or not even see this so listen up. It’s ONLY for two days, no rain checks and first in first served.
So if you’re tired of looking like trash that should be taken out you have two days to get it done and have change for snacks on your way home, because caring is sharing!
There is always a trend hair color or technique that paths the way for new things. Balayage hair color has been one of those trends that has taken over almost every instagram and Facebook post for over a year now!
If you have been saving every form of balayage for a while now then maybe it’s time to try this hair color now?
Balayage can be done in almost any color, can be bold or traditionally more subtle but the choice is yours depending on your hair. Remember the more you do the more Maintainence you have.
Before you ask the cost understand it depends on length, density of your hair, condition and end result so it’s best for us to see you face to face and we can quote you accurately. Consultations are free!
Because we all like to be rebels, the moment you hear this you may be already planning on giving it a shot. Certain things are harmless to try a DIY and certain things are not, after all I guess years of study there are things that will be taught you can’t get from a 3 1/2 minute YouTube video ( but then again who knows right!)
Things not to try yourself
Replacing your hard drive
Refilling gas cylinders
Cutting or colouring your own hair
Giving your self a hair transplant ( or kidney transplant for that matter )
Waxing your Va-jay-jay
And no I didn’t slip the hair ones in to be all dramatic, we have seen some whoppers come try and fixing it after things have gone terribly wrong. Understand some things are better done by someone who does it for a living after studying for years.
Have you ever got to the point where your hair has had so much done to it, to try and make your life easier yet everything you do is making it worse?
It needs rescuing, it needs someone to tell you to stop, reassess and work out the smartest way to get you back in track. Keep in mind a lot of salons motivations are to add cash in till versus actually fixing the problem, a lot of the time to fix the problem it will involve not doing what you want and you not getting things your way ( that’s why it’s hard to hear sometimes and you may search for a faster result, which doesn’t exist ).
We find a lot of clients come to us after trying to get their dream hair after they have had a series of expensive ” it’s going to solve all your problems” services. Good or bad, we are know not to sugar coat much, what you see is what you get!
When your not feeling your best and someone tells you something will fix it, you tend to believe them because they are the professionals after all but no matter where you live, you really need to do your fact checking first. I would always suggest google but again you need to filter that too, a lot of companies pay people to slag off other companies online ( I know right 😂) so some amount of common sense is involved when looking and it’s always advisable to get a face to face ( it’s free ) and get opinions.
Honestly most of you probably don’t even use your phone to call anyone anymore, laptops are hardly used and most of our work is done from your mobile. Shit I’m writing this on my phone, uploading images and posting it from bed.
When we think about work and marketing it’s completely a waste of time almost having a landline number, in fact at home I don’t have one, who even does anymore.
With 70-80% of our bookings now being done via DM’s on social media it means we are open 24/7 which is cool, hard work but cool. It’s honestly great to be connected to everyone all the time, sure eventually we all need some time off but if it’s 11pm on a Saturday night and you decide you want to get your hair done the next morning then it’s easy AF to slide a DM and wait.
Sure if the business isn’t going to answer for 24 hours then it’s useless but if it all works then it’s solid gold!
Remember not so long ago, almost every guy walking around had their hairline cut so square and high it made the look like a Lego character. It was terrible, grew out in 2-3 days and looked hideous!
Welcome the fade haircut! Tapered in from nothing it creates a very smooth tailored finish and can be done slightly longer so it’s not so short. Obviously the shorter the cooler it looks and the longer it will last. You can have a high fade ( like above ) or a drop fade ( which is only fading lower. Either way we love it!
Remember back when you were 23 life was gold, you could stay out till 4am drink like a fish, eat whatever you want and still be on top of your game at 10am?
Well your now a little older and that type of life, even the thought of it makes you feel sick just thinking about it. Guess what, as you get older things change, yep sure you always bagged people who used to have a bad back or struggled after s big night but that’s you now!
Your hair at 19 is never ever ever going to be the same when you are 25-30-35 or 50 and no matter how many times you tell yourself, or us it’s not going to change it! It’s life and your body changes, can you turn the clock back….. in short no. Yes there are products and diet that may help marginally to ensure the best possible hair but it’s not going to be the same ever again!
Moral of the story?
Enjoy what you have, when you have it, embrace change and make the most of what’s in front of you. No matter what, tomorrow won’t be the same as it is today, it’s change and you need to be happy your alive.
Now maybe because I didn’t grow up here or maybe because I’m naturally ignorant but I’m kind of blazè when it comes to Bollywood ( sorry ). By that I mean I would barely wait in a line for French fries let alone to see someone’s face. In fact even if I was 5 years old waiting to sit on Santa’s knee for that traditional photo in the shopping centre, I still don’t think I would bother.
Having the chance to meet some amazing people some work in offices, some outside and some in movies, sorry to break your bubble….they are, we are, all the same.
Therefore we don’t go down that route of posting photos, unless it makes them more normal that is.
And whoever can eat a Hamburger like this boss Chrissy Teigen then deserves every bit of shoutout possible.
If your celebrity crush can’t woof down a quarter pounder like a boss, are they even crush worthy? Ask yourself that!
We all hold onto things that aren’t working or don’t fit, could be because you like the idea of it or it could be you are scared of the options. Either way at some point you have to just let it go. If your plant is dying you don’t just sit there and watch it die do you?
Now we aren’t saying shave your hair off, although for some you absolutely should. What we are saying is don’t hold on to it and expect things to miraculously change.
If you always do what you always done, you will always get what you already have!
In other words, nothing will change until you do, it’s really that simple. So if your holding on thinking things are about to change, chances are they won’t unless you change first.
Well in our quest to make sure we cover everything, leaving nothing out we wanted to give a big shout to the basics which we see are s new thing in some salons and bathrooms!
We are talking about how to remove knots!
Now it’s not a new thing to start from the bottom, but some people just like to rip it out like it’s a birthday present or something but it’s not! Combing directly from the roots whilst you have these tangles will cause damage to your hair and possibly break, split and create so much drama in your hair that only scissors will fix it!
So make sure you start from the bottom and remove the knots as you work up the hair, another amazing invention is this little beauty, the Tangle Teezer which will get the knots out quicker than the sale items being sold out at the season end Sale at Zara.
It’s a fairly common request ” I want to be ash blonde” typically like it’s ordering a pizza with little understanding what’s involved or if it’s even possible. After all that’s our job so we are cool with it, but want to shed some light on the facts about it.
Now without getting overly technical the above photo is not on dark hair, the base color is lighter and has a slightly warmer tone, the highlights however are ash so the two combined give you what you are seeing not the individual “ash” color.
The darker you are the more gold/red pigment your hair has & will throw off when it’s lightened.
To get “ash” your hair must be lightened ( it doesn’t come out of a tube, it’s a process and not typically a short one either ) and to keep the hair in one piece would require 2-3 applications then toning. Sadly I have seen foils being done and irons or a hairdryer put over the foils to speed it up ( your hair will be fried, cuticle will snap off and I can guarantee it’s gold as your reading this. Bleaching hair you should not add heat, you can’t speed up the process! There is no short cuts only bad decisions and poorly educated people doing it or endorsing the wrong people.
So can it be ash on dark hair?
Yes but check out the photo above, you can see super light sections and some slightly gold right, that’s because it’s done over several sittings to get the hair light and keep it on your head.
Now whilst you think you may want ash, chances are even after you get it ( if it’s possible ) you will have upkeep you will need to do in order for it to stay the right tone!
Possible yes, easy no but possible and for those claiming you have ash, this is what ash actually looks like!
So if you have had a bad color, give us a call let’s see what we can do to get your hair instagram ready!
Seasons come and go and we all tend to follow clothes trends but very few will flip their hair look as often. Chances are it will be two or three seasons of “I’m growing it” or I like it short and not much in between.
We love our bae Merrylin Boro who within the last 8 months had the following looks,
The Bowl haircut
Shag with micro bangs
Micro bob and micro bangs
And now is growing the bangs out! It’s one thing to hold onto something that works for you it’s another not to move with a look and this is what we all strive for.
Evolving your hair look should be lots of small changes so you don’t get bored and people looking at you are constantly looking at something fresh!
We get asked a lot now about wash and wear hair vs overdone blowouts which are kind of outdated and tend to leave you looking like an Auntie from an Indian TV drama from circa 1970’s. We are very anti fuss and in fact promote easy hair as it brings out your personality and if managed correctly looks best.
Can you get a blow out, of course you can, but it shouldn’t look too stiff and stuck into place or you run the risk looking older than you are, unless you’re trying to look older to get into clubs that is. It’s not about having messy hair it’s about having hair that you can actually manage at home yourself.
Who needs extra work when getting ready?
Using our signature dry cutting which is more than just cutting hair dry ( it’s about cutting it into the shape pre washing and post drying using a Japanese technique of cutting ) enables you the hair to be encouraged to sit a certain way. Now this doesn’t mean defy gravity but rather assist dramatically in the “wash and go” look so you can look good everyday.
If we can’t make you look good chances are, your Ugly
The rain comes and you are all suddenly on the Internet searching for a miracle ( sorry but 😂) the extra moisture in the air causes hair to go crazier than your first boyfriend but there is a solution but you probably won’t like it but here goes.
Hair and the curl is a direct reflection of the moisture content of your hair, the more moisture the cleaner the curl, less moisture ( internally ) the more misbehaved the curl. If you want a product you most likely have already in your bathroom try a serum when it’s wet and again gently applied.
Tips to help prevent frizz
If your a hair maintained ( trimmed every 6-8 weeks regardless if your growing it or not ) this removes split ends that will themselves add to the frizz.
If you are one of those people who flips your hair upside down shakes it, or wraps it in a towel on top of your head stop doing it!!! This type of mistreatment will only add aggregation to your hair once dry, pat it dry don’t rub it like you’re drying a wet dog!
When you have the conditioner in each time you wash it ( and you should condition it every time, it closes the cuticle and prevents moisture escaping ) use a wide tooth comb when it’s in and detangle.
If you get a blow out, chances are at some point you have experienced the hairstylist burning your hair into place vs gently encouraging it. Finish the blow out with cool air, this helps close the cuticle giving it shine and keeping the moisture inside.
Use 2-3 drops of Serum ( we recommend Cristali Liquid by Alfa Parf ) when it’s freshly washed and again as it’s 90% dry
So recently I met someone who had lost a LOT of weight, we got chatting ( my first reaction was is she sick? ) she had been on a “trend diet” loosing over 10kg in a matter of two months which is crazy!
After we finished chatting and me thinking wtf I need to know what she did here, we started talking hair and this is when I knew something was wrong. About 30% of her hair at the top had fallen out, like gone, vanished finito bye bye. I Couldn’t believe what I was seeing it was crazy how suddenly this had happened between visits.
You all need to know the basics behind a healthy lifestyle and food, rather than possible having a flirtatious relationship with what goes into your mouth or treating it like fuel, try thinking about it as the difference between health and sickness. We get a lot of people ask ” what should I eat to make my hair grow longer faster etc etc” these same people literally put their hair through hell, most times not even getting it trimmed regularly, over doing colours and damaging it constantly. Yet expect eating a so called ” super food” will make it all go away…. it won’t.
Before you get into a diet that will surely drop a few kilos fast it’s important to know you could be entering into a situation leaving your body short of what it needs and could experience all sorts of side effects. Our bodies need certain things in order to function properly so ensure that’s happening before you try and defy science and think you can break the law of nature.
Seems like there is a lot of people that are not in business or hairdressers that know so much more than us and we love them all ❤️
Apparently and we never knew this but if you have a big sign you will be busy, if it lights up you will be known as the best, get neon plus one that flashes and you may as well order that private jet because you are going to be rocking!
Shit, apparently cutting hair well has nothing to do with it? If only we had known we would have lit it up like a Christmas tree 🎄
Well two years in and we are going stronger than ever so I guess the sun or moon must be lighting it up cos we are doing great! For those who say we can’t find you, there is a little app called “google maps” and if you type in “Rod Anker Salons” chances are it will take you right to our door, right beside Altitude Cafe or two doors down from Bombay Shirt Company.
If you are still struggling like a German trying to eat rice with chop sticks 🥢 then head to Meherchand Market and call us on 01141010011 as our team love explaining it to you, your driver, your auto driver or the bus driver if the case may be.
Using what we have around us we went for a walk and talked about counteracting colours, what colours balance other colours and what colours enhance other colours. It’s one thing to know the theory and another to have it truly understood.
Even a walk in colourful Meherchand market can be educational if you are open to it!
Healthy hair is not that hard to get, getting shine is possible for everyone but it comes with a catch and it’s typically going to cost you less and you will spend less time in the salon than you do now!
We hear all sorts of things happen in salons from being told to do “hair spa” treatments weekly to apply oil, both are a waste of time and money ( typically but certainly the oil!!!)
So how do you get shinny hair?
Well instead of treating it like a rug you bought at the local market start treating it like a vintage hand woven rug and you will be on your way. A lot of people we meet have had every service known to mankind ( because they were told it was good for them ) and are now left with dry brittle damaged hair that the only fix is a pair of scissors.
We believe that hair must be respected in order to be healthy both in the salon as well as at home, you can’t expect to get something nice done once then treat it like a rug your washing in the Ganges and expect it to be at its best just because you have somewhere to be tonight. Doesn’t work like that!
Do less color application, don’t take it through the ends every time, maybe only once a YEAR!
Keratin is ok but is not a treatment to make your hair healthy, it’s to relax the hair but with the application being done with heat will cause some damage so don’t do it unless you actually need it!
Getting a blow out done wrong can cause as much damage as a bad color. Your hair should never be burnt into place and in fact majority should be done with cool air and finished off and set into place with cold air to close the cuticle.
Don’t trust shampoo unless you trust what’s in the bottle. Always condition.
Don’t use excess heat, wash and leave it once a week without drying or using heat tools.
Stop flipping your hair around, honestly this entire hair flip business you might think is like a mating call but is more annoying than you can imagine as well as creates unnecessary friction.
Some things are not as obvious and to be honest sometimes we have been told our posts are s little cryptic, thanks for noticing lol. When it comes to the color, black it’s a little more complicated and there are pro’s and con’s so let’s talk about them.
Black will shine more as it reflects all light, so basically it may look good on the surface but could be in terrible condition, you won’t see it but you will surely feel it sooner or later, it’s a player 😳
It’s color will not show details and can be deceptive, you can not see what’s its doing, could be good but could be bad you won’t know.
The reality is the movement and texture won’t be visible so a change won’t be noticeable as if there was variation.
Add variation, not saying blonde or white but don’t have it completely black as this is rarely a natural color, add another darker color to it to offset its starkness. After all is said and done, no one wants to have fake looking hair.
I don’t know why but some people generally the lazy ones tend to think they successful people are born rich or have had friends that have helped. Not sure who they are referring too or what planet they live on but it couldn’t be further from the reality.
A few years ago I put every motivational book in the rubbish, removes them all because I realised the time I was wasting reading how to be motivated I wasn’t doing anything actually productive. All I needed was to do more think less about how, just start. There was a little motivation from someone as to why I kept them all and hearing someone tell me they are useless made me think hard about why I had bought them in the first place.
I hear people that have the most elaborate business plans and really well thought out PDF presentations that you know has the depth of a puddle on the footpath and the main motivation is to make money. I don’t know about anyone else but if money is the main motivation you will not have the same drive as if it were to create something bigger than you for a cause or reason. I guess only you will know if it’s money driven or it comes from the heart.
Find something that you love doing, then find a way to do that every day until you die, put every effort in every day and continue to find ways to be better. Always think of yourself as a novice not an expert and keep going patiently. That’s the secret, no shortcuts that will last or get you anywhere you want to be!
We are pro natural, I know kind of weird coming from a hair salon when talking about color but we actually believe enhancing what you have rather than masking it and creating a high Maintainence situation.
A lot of woman are letting the grey show and we are helping them, because we know you have more to do than sit in a salon every 2 weeks covering up your white hair.
The issue starts early on when you get a color maybe years ago and the color your doing is still the same as you had when you were 25 and you haven’t been that color since. Your hair lightens up as you get older as well as your skin and in order to look natural. Where the problem starts is not when you have 20-30 grey hairs, it’s why it’s above 40% white and you are still colouring it dark ( in most cases we see black!). One of the problems is sometimes hairdressers find it easier to color it black and give you 100% coverage to make you happy but in fact this will give you a visible regrowth faster than ever!
Where we come in to try to save you money, time and look good is we take the color and try and match you a color that’s between your natural color and the white that is appearing. This gives you less mark and definition in the regrowth, making visits needed less frequent. This not only gives you more time, it makes you look younger and a better version of yourself.
So if you are tired of being tied down to this color decision it’s about time you changed.
If you didn’t know by know some people get paid to take photo’s post them online to look like it’s natural, I know right. This is a sign of marketing changing the landscape of what we do and it’s real and in full swing. Does it work better than a print ad, well that’s not for us to say but we can tell you results are there for sure. For us a large portion of our business interacts, finds us, books with us from social media. Some Salon Facebook some Rod’s Facebook and some via Salon Instagram and some via Rod’s instagram
Do selfies work, yes. You have to have a voice or it’s just a selfie and you can simply upload all the photos in your phone and expect things to start happening because they won’t.
Recent studies show that by 2020 TV as we knew it will not hold the power in advertising that it once did, things have changed and in fact majority of people don’t even watch commercial TV anymore, option for online like Netflix.
If you don’t move with the times or try and be ahead of it, you will fail it’s just a matter of time how long you will last.
It might be that every says to you your hair looks good long, or it could be your so lucky to have a guy that has such a good job. But what makes you happy is the question you need to ask yourself!
Isn’t love, unconditional? Both self love and the love of others? What changes with a haircut? Nothing. What is the big deal if you work in an office or freelance as an artist? Nothing Whats wrong with being independent? Nothing.
Make yourself happy, you only get one life and it’s best served up with honesty with yourself and what you want and who you want to be, regardless of what anyone says.
Isn’t it funny that we are so obsessed with everything a lot of us have lost our tolerance to be a good human!
People fight, opinions vary, some have bad days, others just loose it every now and then but if your in it your in it. Compromise and support isn’t just a verbal thing. It is about sometimes getting a Top knot and other times getting a blowout and/or giving.
Some days it’s Top knots some days it’s a blow out, keep the variation alive
Nothing is more frustrating than getting a color done, loving it only to have it wash out a week later or at least fade.
Now before I hear from someone saying the black has washed out of the roots, it’s not sweetheart it’s called regrowth we are talking fade which has nothing to do with growth. Here are a few causes of color fade you should discuss with your hairstylist.
The condition of your hair has a direct link to the longevity of your color, the better condition the longer the color tone stays true.
If you have lightened the hair ( aggressively ) to achieve the desired color chances are your color will turn warm ( gold & red ) sooner.
The color you have had previously affects the color you do now.
The shampoo and conditioner has a huge impact on your color. Sulfate free shampoo is the only shampoo you should be using. If you Shampoo then you must condition, yes every time.
No oils, yep no oils! They do NOT add any Benifit end in fact will cause the internal structure of your hair into a moisture free zone stripping it dry causing the color to change completely. Upside, the layers of oil that can’t be washed off will make it look healthy, downside is it will be dryer and tougher than you have ever had!
So before you start reading home remedies or taking advice from people that give you a remedy out of the kitchen we suggest getting facts out of a salon. Come speak to us today and see how we can reduce your hair appointments and keep your color longer.
Ok you got me, of course we knew it’s a sport, we do it getting out of bed like every day. Nope that’s bollocks we don’t.
What is interesting about the sport that has to do with hair is this. It uses the weight and speed of movement to best transfer you from A to B to C to D without using excessive force. So basically it’s using your own body weight and flow of movement to transport you.
Now our technique of cutting it similar we use the adding or removal of weight to manipulate the movement of hair naturally without using excess force.
Basically we are the Parkour masters of hair, yes we are.
For the love of god ladies finally us blokes have been sent blessings ten fold! We were totally over hearing you tell us you’re running away with Jon Snow like you actually thought you would. Well guess what!?
And please look at Rose Leslie’s face, that smile is for all you girls to know you all lost and no matter how much you talk about it, the only Snow you are getting is in the mountains and you won’t be mountin ( if you know what I mean!
There are so many good quotes we can all save and post, use them as captions, hurl them out at the right time socially and yet very few actually live them. It used to be called two faced but I guess now we have new names for it but who knows.
Constant social media stalking has made us very educated ( almost experts some would say lol ) on the depth of utter crap that some salons quote, they apparently are ALL the best, ALL are the most qualified, saw a few that apparently Rod trained but he didn’t, some bragging they are the biggest and get this one that said it was the first lol.
God knows no one cares how big your doodle is, only your the one focusing on it, no one cares how much space you have for a salon, no one cares how fast you opened, no one cares about anything other than what you do, how well you do it, how much experience your staff have and if you stand by your product. If you do it and won’t support the consumer if things go wrong, guess what…. your a liar.
Authentic marketing is the only way to choose a service in a people driven business because it shows personality rather than attitude or a pissing contest.
So before you get that A frame that says “Your hair is your crown” or “blow out before you go out” or whatever it was put outside your salon thinking your super creative, train, talk and listen, good relationships are a two way street not a bus lane or a one way lane.
A lot of times in our life we may know the facts but just feel better hearing another form of reality, we may not believe it but we all want to hear it. We personally love a good story or two but also have both feet firm in the reality bucket when it comes to myths.
Oh yes and just because your granny told you doesn’t make it fact!
A lot of what you think you know as fact is more myth than reality but I guess unless you believe it you won’t believe it.
Some think putting oil on your head actually feeds the hair, reality hair is dead keratin and oil and water don’t mix so no natural oil will be able to be removed nor breathe life into a dead organism but hey your granny knows best! Pulped onion rubbed into your scalp regrow hair, um no it just makes you stink!
Head massage is good but not essential, hair loss is normal and you can’t stop it, majority of your hair problems are genetic!
Let’s go out, they said. It will be fun, they said! Now you are left watching them having fun and are left feeling like you’re a different breed to them, no doubt they will ask what was wrong with you the next day too, like why weren’t you having fun right.
Well if you can even slightly relate to this, then it’s about time you got your little tush into the salon and starting experimenting with some fresh looks on your hair, no not zebra stripes either that’s just not cool. Maybe some fresh balayage or even bangs but either way it’s about time you took control and made you the centre of attention again!
Ever worn a pair of jeans so much they start falling apart yet you still wear them because they fit so well? If your answer is no then chances are you are not even living life, people do yes, it’s what happens when you’re busy living life and it’s good, very good!
Well the same thing can happen with your hair, it works, you know how to manage it, dry it, take it out on a Friday night and dress it, hell you probably know how to resurrect it even on s Wednesday night. It’s your bae, you have done the walk of shame with it that many times the Uber driver knows your birthday. You know how much shampoo to use, how long it’s going to take to blow dry it’s just easy.
But is it still working for you?
The reality is as we get older ( even 6 – 12 moths ) we change, sure some people are still doing the same tricks they did 10 years ago or still in a toxic love triangle that will require an intervention or one person to stop it. So do you still do the same thing just because it’s easy? Reality no, you have to evolve for yourself and in this case for your look!
Just because you wore it a certain way in school, babe you are 35 you are not studying anymore your a grown up!
If you know anything, like even a little ( if you can place an order for an outfit online ) understand your hair needs to change.
Sending it for a wash every now and then isn’t taking care of business!
The idea of going a pastel color probably has crossed your mind at least once or twice but the time and effort to get it let alone the cost to maintain it has most likely stopped you. Then there is the idea that it’s super visible and in your face right?
Well it doesn’t have to be, check out this peek a boo line pastel that will show itself only when your hair moves!
Who else is so tired of seeing the same crap in the name of marketing. Everyone calls themselves and influencer like it’s a commodity or a term you can even claim yourself ( fyi it’s a terms you get called not you call yourself, just like your hair is your hair not hairs! So over that too )
We see your posts, think ah ok this place might be cool, you go only to discover the person doing the social media might be cool but the place sucks. It needs to flow through and deliver what it promises, from look, attitude as well as personality of the brand.
For the sake of all our sanity and possibly everyone unfollowing you or altering you to “mute all” pls try to be authentic and a tad original it’s becoming rather boring. Same shirts, same clothes, using references we have all seen and calling yourself original or artistic it’s kinda blah.
While we are in such a ” clean out the cupboard” kind of mood, no one cares if your the first, biggest, fastest or whatever we only care if you are actually the best and claiming that title only by yourself with no back up is also a sign your telling porky pies.
Ok so let’s just start by saying I get it, this long hair thing, fine ok you want long hair good for you I’m ok with it. What I’m not ok with is when you play with it more than a 13 year old boy plays with his junk, when your standing in front of me in a que flipping tossing your hair and it’s literally going all over me and when you think you can have a dramatic change without loosing length.
It’s the fact that you think it’s sexy having hair so long you can tuck into your socks, I’m sure someone thinks that hair flip is sexy, sure as hell is not us.
If you have long hair, we love you but you must look after its & stop flipping
You may not believe your mum, but when you read it on line it’s gospel right?
Appartments from the fact that they are bloody expensive this blueberry smoothie bowl will change your life. It’s nothing to do what’s in the bowl, it’s putting your mind in the right place whilst making it that will change things for you. It’s not ideal that someone else makes it for you, it’s better if you make the effort to do it yourself because it’s the action that creates the path for you to change your ways. This leads to more positive thoughts, increased productivity, increased hope which leads to excitement which leads to happiness in turn creates change. So before you think how can a beautiful berry/mango smoothie bowl change your life or grow your hair think about that and make a small effort every day for a big change.
By now we have all had enough, its been above 40 for the past 3 weeks with the temperature only going to mid 30’s in the early hours of the morning so its no wonder your hair may be feeling a little dehydrated. It can cause color to fade, increase split ends, go frizzy and just make you feel like crap so its a good all round reason to make sure you get on top of it if it hasn’t already.
Here is what you can do right now to top up the moisture levels!
Book yourself in for a trim 011410100 11 – you should be trimming it every 6 weeks regardless of if you want to grow it or not, it removes damaged ends from heat, sun, styling and life so it can continue to look good
check the shampoo you are using, use a sulphate free one, its more gentle and will keep moisture levels better than any other shampoo. We use and recommend Alfa Parf, yes we stock it and its for sale
Stop doing chemical treatments just because everyone else is, possibly the worst treatment you can do is Rebonding or smoothening, some call it different things but the process is the same. Kerating should ONLY be done if there is no other option and will reduce curl and/or frizz but not 100% so be aware of reality vs great before and after images on social media!
Always condition and use a leave in serum, if your hair gets oils then wash it daily but skipping these two will dry our your hair.
Don’t take your color through the ends, its not needed and will cause damage.
Hope this helps and remember to cover up your hair in a hat or scarf when your outside, wash it to remove perspiration build up on your scalp which in turn dries out your scalp. Don’t be scared to wash it daily as long as you are using a good product!
Trends come and go but this one will be around for a while we think. It’s a color but it’s imitating natural hair because the longer your hair is the variation from roots to ends is natural. It’s been through more sun, wind, blow drying etc etc so it should be lighter.
Considering for most of us even getting the time to update the new iOS update is a challenge it’s a color that once done right will give you months of freedom. Now you have more time to do the things that actually matter, after all I’m sure you would agree sitting in the salon every week is hardly adding much value to your life. Unless it’s with us of course.
Get a free consult and see if this color is suitable for you by calling 011 41010011
Random questions you don’t ask your OBYN or your hairstylist but I guess why not, give it a try. If you can save 5% and the only catch is you have to go in at a certain time, walking on one leg, do a check in tagging 5 friends then a Instagram post while you are there tagging at least 2 friends, the salon, geo tag and put in a link into your made up blog that is read by your two bff’s and pay cash. Now that’s a deal that I know some would jump through hoops!
But yeah your right, we joking, we don’t do “deals” we do hair but if you have an Ex then this may be right up your alley 💕
So it’s not normal but I guess that’s ok because either are we, we do hair bloody well too ( just saying ) but we don’t do this and that, like mani pedi, beauty etc etc and we choose not too because it’s best to do one thing the best than 5 things below average. That’s our opinion anyway. Let’s us concentrate on only hair.
Now with a few shops being effected by the recent sealing in Meherchand market we wanted to let you all know that our favourite place 10-10 nail spa is back and reopen at shop 91.
We hear a lot that you want a sexy haircut or color and let’s be honest it’s subjective but at the end of the day you want something that makes you feel sexy more than anything else.
A dress doesn’t have to be short to be sexy or a top showing cleavage isn’t always sexy it’s about how it fits in the overall picture and how you feel in it. Getting that look is about finding out what you feel, how you think about sexy and what you have in your mind vs choosing something from a menu or Pinterest. We always take the time to have a proper discussion about you, your lifestyle, your dream hair and how you feel because that’s what’s the difference between a good haircut and something that fits you, your expectations and brings you into your true self.
If you have been living in a cave for the past year or so you may have missed this low Maintainence look and it’s still going strong!
The more people we talk too the more it’s obvious no one actually wants to go to the salon every few weeks for a color, we all have way too much on our plate so how can you look good for a solid 6/8 weeks without looking like a sale item in the dollar shop?
You have to ask yourself the question, what are you chasing? Is it acceptance, is it friends, is it appreciation of art or is it just plain trend driven? What are we talking about? Well it’s now become obvious that a lot of people are chasing fame the lazy way and think the world can’t see that someone who barely gets out of bed, is known for nothing, has photos as plain as day can rack up thousands of likes in such a short time. No effort, not known for anything. Well today we call this the lazy blogger ( possibly doesn’t blog either )
Now this is not mean to be a nasty or I would be tagging everyone I know who spend more time and money getting likes than working towards success. This is about making us look at what we are searching for. I don’t know about everyone else but Instagram has become a little boring and too “cliche” or maybe after 5-6 years we all need to take a break.
You shouldn’t need to see thousands of likes to make you feel good about yourself and most certainly don’t think for a second taking shortcuts will help you because it won’t. If you can’t get it naturally it’s obviously not working so you need to work for it!
People always tend to think there must be an easier way, well unless you have something unique or incredible going on or a sick skill chances are there isn’t. Even then and with all the support of a few pages under your brands it still isn’t easy, but I guess some still want to play the smoke and mirror game.
While we have all seen, heard or experienced the recent escalation in the Delhi “cleanup” and while a lot of businesses have been effected ( over 700,000 ) we are still open. The market is open and whilst the floor size of a lot of businesses has been effected we are all open.
Come visit Meherchand it’s got parking and is clean and easily accessible.
After almost 10 years here in India I’m sure you expect me to say Indian hair is thicker, stronger or this or that and while some of it’s true, it’s basically not. The only real difference is the color.
Now there are fast differences to how India treats hair, some a little bazaar, like onion pulp, cow pee, raw egg, rubbing garlic of your head, some neem shampoo etc etc we could list hundreds of “old wives tale potions” that are all just based on myth and act as a placebo more than anything.
Indian culture is warm, welcoming and the food is to die for! The hair is darker and culturally there have been restrictions but attitudes are changing.
Some of us remember getting our first mobile phones, wasn’t that long ago. Texting was not our main form of communication, In fact believe it or not it was talking ( wtf right ) well it was! A text would be replied straight away, well because it was rude and ignorant not too. Now…….
Now in most parts of the world, hairdressing is considered an art, a very creative medium used to create shapes, colours all from a canvas called hair. In other parts of the world it’s considered a job 😳
Well it’s only in the last few years in India that a “hairdresser” could open a bank account or even apply for credit so I guess we are moving in the right direction. For us hair is art, it’s a canvas that we work on in 3D to create. We get our inspiration from life and really don’t have to look too far for it either.
Mid afternoon walk
Back in the salon
Decided to go get some coffee
Then headed back to salon
Dreaming of a road trip to the Sandunes a few months ago
So I guess you can say life is art and you really don’t need to look to far to get inspired, it’s right in front of you.
If you thought on the weekend you might go to the arts and crafts market and do yourself a little DIY head gear for that wedding or party you got going on Jen Atkin & her crew just took it up a 473 notches. With the coolest gals on her client list here are some of her creations for the Met Ball 2018 as well as some of the others that attended!
Now goes without saying or maybe it doesn’t based on what we see, your profile picture is equally as important as what you wear to the interview of your dream job! Will your potential employer look for you on social media? Hell yes, your comments, posts, reactions etc it all says who you are. If your on private and trying to land a job that’s PR or first hand in the public eye, good luck with that too.
But let’s just say you got it all going on.
What is the perfect selfie
Well lit, not a dark nightclub shot.
By yourself, sure you love your boyfriend or BFF but not here it’s not the place.
Clear, well lit, by yourself, no drink in your hand!
Hair done ✅
If it looks good chances are a lot more likely to get to second base, be it a job interview or a tinder swipe! 😛
Now this is almost a daily question, to the point at times to be honest we feel like just blurting out, ok so its cabbage are you happy! But yet we resist, not sure why when it would all stop there if we did. However the biggest issue we have right now is everyone wants to complicate things and give complex answers without justification other than to make themselves sound informed.
Your body functions best when the five food groups are taken care of, when they are not, then there is a deficiency which will lead to shortage of essential vitamins and minerals your body needs to be fully functional. Now like certain things in life, we think we can postpone or neglect and simply pop a pill or pay a penalty, when it comes to our body we simply can’t. Yes will a supplement help, sure but its not the same as the real deal right!
A balanced diet, a good amount of sleep along with the right water intake and excursive and your body will function the way it was intended. The moment you skip one thinking you know better, then wonder why things are not working the way you want, you need to look at your diet.
Hair will fall out, this is life, can you stop it completely NO you can NOT, anyone that tells you they can is not informed. 90% of the hair on your head right now is active in growing whilst 10% is in the final stages and will fall out, no not all of the 10% will not grow back it will but some may or may not depending on a lot of other factors.
Now sure you may have been trolling the internet looking for the right answers because you think your shower is full of hair and if it keeps going like this you will be bald, chances are your being a tad dramatic!
Yes you are!
If you want to put your mind at ease then come visit us and let us have a look!
Getting the right hair can be a challenge that for some never happens, rather just time fly’s by with hair that’s ok but not amazing. Here are 5 ways that will help you get over the edge before you die!
1. Choosing the right hair salon is possibly the first step and in sone situations is hard to find. We would always suggest cruising through social media, stalking the tagged photos etc to get a real picture of what’s happening. It’s one thing to post nice photos but another to be able to create them.
2. Get your act together, do you know what you want? It’s ok if you don’t but put some thought into it, you don’t like your hair, why? Do you want to wash and leave it? Do you like the current color? Is blow drying it daily ok? Does your color always fade? Are you happy with the condition? Do you need to wear it up? There is so many questions which a good hairstylist should be asking to make sure they get to the root of your hair happiness. Be ready.
3. Invest the right amount of time and don’t rush the appointment, we have seen first hand people saying they have never been happy, yet they happily rock up late then happily inform the hairstylist they need to hurry. Think about it, kinda crazy. Make sure you have time or move the appointment to when you do.
4. Be honest with yourself and your hairstylist if you have a budget share it, it’s normal to have limits. If you have styling expectations, share them.
5. Do not try to over manage your session you have talked it out, they have started, then don’t try and tell them what to do, unless of course you think you know better ( in which case why are you there?) if you don’t trust them you shouldn’t be there.
It’s a world where everyone thinks bigger, brighter and faster at times will little regard or care for quality or individuality. Our yolks are the best, we have the most fancy yellow, it’s the brightest etc etc and the list goes on, you know exactly what we mean.
So we decided to remove the yolks and be the complete opposite, after all why compete when our individuality is our gold!
So we got told you couldn’t find our number, maybe your finger is Brocken, maybe your not following us on social media maybe your just lazy. But maybe, just maybe your right and it’s hard to find so here it is!
011 410 100 11
Or 0114 1010 011
It’s all in the way you look at it I guess. I think we need to talk
A lot of salons choose to do a little this and that, jack of all trades ( master of none ) with the goal to try and be your “one stop shop” 😂 and only delivering 20% of everything vs being 100% of one thing. Now whilst we get it, a lot of you have expectations that we should be doing hair, nails, your makeup, picking up your groceries, collecting your children, taking them to the toilet, washing their bums, ordering your lunch and the list goes on. But guess what we don’t, we won’t and we will not hesitate to let your little Johnny poop his pants ( nah only kidding but you get the point )
If you want anything not hair related, your in the wrong house, if you want awesome hair, take a seat Cheryl and let’s get started!
We have all seen it on someone, you may call it gold, you may call it red but regardless what you call it unless its intentional it can look ugly!
Now every hair on the planet as well as your head has undertone color and without going into a technical explanation lets just understand the basics, if you lighten your hair or put your hair through a chemical process, chances are at some point the cuticle has been opened. By opening the cuticle you are allowing the sun and environment to lighten your hair further and the hair color will change, bringing out the under tone color. We see a lot of people that color their hair dark and go out in the sun, after a few weeks its looking gold or red, this is because the hair is lightening and your undertone is showing through.
Do you color it again to cover it, is that the answer?
Not always needed but depends on case to case to be honest, the best way is prevention. When colouring your hair it needs to be done knowing your hair texture and condition and if fading is an issue then color concentrates can be used so when it fades it is not so obvious. Also on a side not remembering that the shampoo you use will help the color tone stay true to what it is meant to be longer, so always use a sulphate free shampoo and don’t oil your hair ( this puts a coating on your hair shaft and increases the temperature of the hair therefore evaporating the internal moisture faster )
Always use a conditioner every time you shampoo and followed by a leave in serum!
It’s 2018, you work in almost any field someone you work with, a boss, a customer or a business associate has looked you up on line and seen all your photos, it’s a given!
Now whilst the easiest way to deal with it would be making your profile private because after all your personal life is your own right? Well kind of not, if your in media, PR, fashion, beauty, hair, lifestyle, travel, tours, renovations, public speaking, fitness etc etc you get our point.
Consumer shops very different now and demand an insight into you and what your selling, not only in the item or service but your brand Dna and what your about! Your not selling anything? I honestly doubt that, even if you only rely on a research grant every 5th year chances are someone will be checking!
Setting your profile on private because you think people will follow you is not only wrong but incredibly naive. The choice people have is global so you are being compared to the best in the world not in your street, market or village!
To touch on people who have been busy doing nothing, literally and have thousand of followers for absolutely no apparent reason is kind of funny and I’m sure by now we all can see through it but annoying AF that these lazy people that feel that “faking it till you make it” means literally being full of shit!
Advertise, promote but for goodness sake don’t think eating on your bed watching back to back Netflix shows is a skill unless your blogging about it.
It’s no secret that guys loose their hair typically, not always but it’s in our DNA just like the sun will rise and fall every day there is limits to how you can control it. What you can do is be aware of what haircuts will work best so you don’t end up looking older than you are!
The interesting thing is that the amount of hair you have has no link to your manhood so stop obsessing over it that’s the first thing. A woman would prefer a guy who is respectful, loves life, looks after her and is motivated more than she will look for a guy that has a good amount of hair! Yep I know who would have thought right lol.
Now what hairstyles
The biggest mistake is most will leave it longer on the top as it thins out because they are scared that you can see through it. Big mistake as this typically makes it look thinner. Obviously there is a limit to how short is too short and how long is too long and that differs from person to person.
The more you try to hide it thinning the more it will stand out. If you try and hide something from someone, put it right in front of that person and it’s not as obvious and most likely won’t see it. Hide behind a curtain and your almost sure to be seen.
At the end of the day remember the density of the top may be thinning so best to not have a big variation between the density of the top vs the sides. If the top is 50% less than it was then the sides are 50% thicker looking so the top will stand out. Leaving it longer will make the top look thinner.
