3 Hair habits to stop

If you always do what you’ve always done, you will always get what you already got.

Sometimes to get the things we want we have to break a cycle of doing things that in some cases, cause the opposite. No one wants to hear that the things they do are wrong but sometimes we need to be told. If you are constantly eating junk food, no exercise and sleep erratically the chances of you being the most healthy are fairly slim. Good habits create results if continued long enough.

Now let’s talk hair! When you shampoo your hair, the mission should be to cleanse your scalp so it’s not about rubbing the hair too much rather it’s about massaging the roots and then working it through the ends. You rinse well to make sure all the shampoo is removed. Then you Squeeze out excess moisture!

Then you apply conditioner on ends and work it through to the mid lengths not the roots or scalp. Conditioner is for your hair! Using a wide tooth comb starting from the bottom comb through to the roots to remove any tangles. Rinse well and not aggressive then don’t touch your hair.

Looks good for a photo but is terrible for your hair!

A lot get out of the shower flip hair upside down and wrap a towel! DO NOT DO THIS! It creates unwanted tension and friction on the hair. Imagine you want to avoid frizz yet you place your hair upside down twisted into a towel expecting it to sit frizz free when it’s out and down? Never goi g to happen!

Once out of the shower, gentle pat dry your hair in the position it’s in, add some leave in conditioner or serum as required and only using fingers place it where you want it. If you use a styling product go ahead and gently put that in but avoid touching it much at all.

These few habits will help you manage your hair in between trips to the salon as well as daily.
