You can do this at home, it most likely won’t be better than a salon cut ( duh ) but one thing is sure, it will be better than if you didn’t give it a whirl! A bowl haircut for guys is cool and very 90’s we all used to have one at some point in our life. Now you can mix it up and do an undercut kind of situation or just a basic bowl.
This is your basic bowl
Not really basic but if you take the correct sections before even starting it’s fairly simple. Keeping in mind we are sharing this because we know it won’t be the same as us.
Ok so take your hair and clip it up or section depending what you have in the house, keeping in mind the corner of the eyebrow and angle it either straight around or dip it slightly down at the back just below your crown. Make sure it’s even both sides, get the clippers and buzz the underneath until it’s all clear or all the same length. Trick with clipper cuts is to keep changing direction of your movement.
Once done if you want a solid bowl, take 1/2 inch section down at a time all around and cut bring the hair gently down to cut. Don’t pull hard, it needs to be the same pressure on each section all the way around until you have run out of hair.
Once you have run out of hair, comb it various directions check it’s all even and you are done.
If you are after an undercut or basically not too keen on a bowl but can’t handle the extra hair on the sides, then follow same as above but just don’t cut the top. Keep in mind the top depending on the thickness may need thinning out so it doesn’t fall over and end up looking too solid.

When you are stuck inside and worried about running out of shampoo why not alternate with dry shampoo!? It doesn’t actually cleanse your scalp but what it does is add a layer of powdery texture to it and soak up excess oil.
We all have that one product we can’t do without, the one thing that will save your hair when you simply couldn’t be bothered doing it!
Understand that dry shampoo is not a substitute for actually washing your hair, it’s an alternative. You still need to wash your hair regularly as the oil build up plus any products applied ( including the dry shampoo ) left on your scalp will cause irritation and or infection.

HOW TO USE IT?
If you go too heavy using it you will have a head full of white powdery residue, you need to gently lift up the hair in sections starting from the bottom, spray gently about 8-9 inches away at the roots. Keep going up your head and avoid the part line as you may leave a powdery finish, trial and error as it depends on the brand how white it may or may not leave your hair.
Once down a very light massage with your fingertips and you are good to go.
Use it in moderation, maintain a regular shampoo as this is not a replacement. It does not cleanse your scalp or hair
It’s been a while since salons were open and unless you were getting a trim the day we closed then it’s about time your hair needed trimming. Hair grows approx 1-1.5 inches per month which means it’s 6 weeks since we were closed so that’s a little over 2 inches since you saw the light of day.
It’s frustrating we know but there are so many things that can go wrong, sure if it’s bothering you that much, go right ahead and do whatever you need too in order to not go insane. Considering we are all locked away it’s hard to believe anyone could be doing something fresh with their hair let alone a major overhaul right!? But in all fairness it could have been done a while ago. Either way it seems Kylie has been taking her dark hair slightly lighter for a while now to reveal her new hair color which we love!

Depending on how dark your hair is as to if this look is a one process transition or if needed would need to be done over several sessions. It may be something that you can work towards over your next few visits or choose a toned down version depending on your comfort level.

A lot of you are asking if you can shave your head, will it grow back? Well let me tell you a little story and you can decide if you should use this time stuck inside to shave your head or not!
It was midweek of a very regular week years ago when a friend sarcastically reminded my that my hair may be looking a little thin. The constant reminders day after day, week after week and month after month led to this very moment! I had finally been pushed over the edge, taken to the dark side and the only way out was to succumb to the constant insults and shave my head! Better to wear it clearly visible for everyone to see after all, nothing more hideous than a comb over or someone wearing the 4-5 strands of hair wrapped around your head to make it look like there is something there. I guess he did me a favour being blunt, I shaved it off and finally I was free and didn’t have to worry about haircuts again!
Not that going to a salon was a task, I was there almost everyday but was so liberating not to have to think about my hair!
Then, after maybe a few years I decided to grow it back for a change, days turned into weeks, weeks into months and still nothing happened. Well it did but obviously after a few years the growth had changed and the hair at the top so I was only left with rubble around the edge.
So in short no shaving my head didn’t make it stop growing, no it didn’t make it fall out or go thinner. What it did was make me realise if I spend all day doing other people’s hair, why would I stress about my own! I’m glad I got the push to do it!
It’s true that there are simple things you can do to make most things in life, a positive! However there are limitations to the advice you get or the way you interpret it. Depends on who you ask as to the reply you will get, it’s really that basic. If you ask a doctor a medical question, the reply will be based on facts, if you ask your mum it could be based on who knows what! If you listen to some smart powerful people recently you will hear drinking bleech is good for you and could be interesting. IT WILL KILL YOU! Medical advice comes only from doctors so our advice is said with limited knowledge please do your own research.
Staying positive and having a healthy mind while being safely at home is super important and even though it can be incredibly challenging depending on where you are and who happens to be sharing your space. Getting enough sunlight or sunshine is important because it’s medically proven to assist in both Mental Health as well as your Helping your body but like anything it’s best to do your own research and know what is right and what is wrong. I know that sitting on our terrace in both direct and non direct sunlight while working out or having chai has been a saving grace and incredibly positive.
Don’t stay out on your balcony all day, that isn’t ideal unless in fact you have a urinal installed, in which case is kind of weird but you do you!
Creating daily habits are a great way to ensure you don’t fall into a heap! If it’s getting too much reach out to a friend or inbox us. We are happy to just talk if that’s what you need! Stay positive and stay healthy.
I don’t know about you guys but the only thing I’m looking at right now is either has to funny or factual about the virus there is nothing else. If it’s funny I read, if it’s a sell honestly I’m not interested. We are no experts but marketing should be about adding value and not always about clickbait or trying to up sell, it’s about your product or service bringing joy to the consumer.
Now I know for a lot of people, you struggle because when it comes to your work, there isn’t much funny going on. Well maybe there should be! Right now while everyone is on lockdown it’s more important than ever that you be there for your clients or consumers. That doesn’t have to mean “ getting the sale” or talking about offers, in fact you need to avoid it at all cost! ( pardon the pun )
Keeping up engagement and getting a laugh should be your only agenda.
Isn’t our goal to connect with people, actually connect and make them feel something. If you have money, you are scared to spend it, if you don’t have money talking about it makes you scared, so why would companies still be pushing sales?

It’s fine to drink at 9am, understand it’s 9pm somewhere in the world.
Like most of us you have spent the last 4-6 weeks grazing like a wildebeest during the great migration trying to stack on meat for the starving months ahead. Well I guess 7 meals a day isn’t a good idea to maintain a good waistline but in my own defence it sure as hell feels good!
Aloo puri for breakfast followed by an omelette and my third chai followed by some fresh juice and fruit. A short sprint to the shower then it’s time for a sweet treat, maybe some banana bread, god knows we all have gone a little crazy with making that! A little downtime watching Netflix, while nibbling on some dried potato ( also know as chips ). A quick work out to the balcony, doing laps back and fro then time to rehydrate. You can have anything fizzy that’s got sugar, the more the better! A little chocolate is also ok.
Now a little more Netflix, snacks and time to think about lunch, maybe something fried….anything cocked in oil is great! Follow it down with fluid because all those blogs talk about hydrate hydrate hydrate so go for it!
Downtime, a little stretching while going to and from the kitchen. Important to note that warm up and cool down is important or you may pull a muscle.
Time to search for dinner recipes without getting sidetracked on all those quizzes ( turns out if I was a dog I would be a Doberman and my porn star name is Socksie turtle, that’s an entire different conversation ) ok time to cook, which is exercise in itself.
Netflix after dinner and finished the day off with some dried fruit in coco ( also known as fruit and nut chocolate)
It’s over a month now and honestly the thought of the lockdown while it makes us all happy to be able to get out of the house or the living situation we are in, it brings about a level of anxiety about having to leave the house. I guess that’s normal in situations like this but just think for a moment, where will you be going?
We have all changed, life has changed and it’s a good thing. We won’t be taking much for granted now especially the most simple things that’s for sure. Will you be heading to the salon to finally get those nasty roots touched up? Will it be game on for some sexy balayagè? How about bangs? A hair fix because you attacked your own hair with the kitchen scissors or will it be simply going for a walk in the park, a quiet coffee and slice of cake at your favourite coffee shop? Head to your family and give them a big hug?
No matter what it is, the time will come very soon so get ready.
It’s gone from eat everything I’m craving and wash it down with booze to I couldn’t be bothered now sitting somewhere between so hungry I would eat anything to can’t be bothered to eat. Sounds familiar?
Decided to reduce intake as the temptation to graze all day is real so better to reduce overall intake but honestly not going out of my way. If it brings you joy, eat it! If it makes you happy for even a minute do it. Your waistline will come back, your hair will look hot again and the world will continue to revolve. Chill out but make sure there is some element of healthy eating going on while in lockdown to keep your immune system functioning and giving you the best chance to fight off any illness.
Obviously if you are looking for a diet that will increase your hair growth or make your hair healthier the easiest way to have that is by eating a balanced overall diet. Yes possibly TV frozen meals or pre packaged foods are not on that list so will require a bit more work, you have the time to invest in it right now so why not!
Information is so readily available and you have so much time on free, do some research and create the perfect diet for you!
Well your locked up so it’s not like you gave any place to be, post old photos of yourself till it’s over if it turns out bad! If there was ever a good time to DIY and not feel bad, it’s now! Do it!
It won’t be the end of the world, in fact it’s only hair and it may just bring a smile to your face! Once we are open there will be a lot of hair that we need to fix but right now your sanity is important so if you want to shave it off, shave it off. Want bangs, bangs it is girl!
For a lot of people who only blow dry their hair at a salon this time has been a nightmare! With so much information online, it’s an easy access to use this time to get your skills updated so you can be more self sufficient for sure, but what about trying new styles or opting for not doing anything?
We have always maintained that the cut is the most important thing to make sure you can “wash and go” it gives the hair shape and with our dey cutting technique it encourages every hair to have a purpose. Well we are closed and your locked up at home so kind of pointless to bring that up so let’s work on things you can do now at home!
Avoid excess heat tools
While you can’t get those dry ends trimmed it’s important you don’t put undue stress on already fragile hair, avoiding irons and heat unless you have too is going to help your hair get through this lockdown.
Tricks when blow drying your hair
One of the two biggest causes of frizz is nit using conditioner and blast drying your hair upside down. Hair needs conditioner every time you wash it, the cuticle needs closing or it will be left open and the internal moisture will evaporate. As far as blast drying hair upside down, we can’t stress enough this this is not going to set you up for success or extra fullness, it will lead to one big frizz ball! You blast dry on medium heat downwards, down the hairshaft and finish with COLD AIR yes COLD AIR this sets the hair, smoothies and relaxes the cuticle to give you a set closed smooth cuticle! Try it and see for yourself it works
Combing your hair whilst the conditioner is in
When you have finished shampooing your hair, remove excess moisture and condition mid lengths to ends. When the condition is in use a wide tooth comb through your hair then rinse. After it’s all rinsed, don’t disturb it too much, the hair at this point shouldn’t be aggregated too much.
Ok so hear me out because a lot of you have been messaging asking how to manage your hair and your bored.
So doesn’t it make complete sense since now we have until next month alone at home to get used to the new smooth look? Once in everyone’s life you need to experience the freedom of having short hair or even shaved close. It is so liberating that you can wake up and go straight from the bed to almost anywhere without having to even think about your hair, let alone do anything!
Not much help is needed and as long as you have clippers you can do it yourself anytime of the day or night you like!
Chances are you are part of the 99% of the world and not the 1% but imagine you were for a minute. You used to book luxury destinations based on isolation and the fact there would be very few if any people around. No one beside you at dinner, the pool to yourself, hidden service staff so you felt alone. With service pre planned so you no matter what you wished for it had already been thought of so there was little or no need for human interaction. Just you and leave and quiet.

That is if you are home alone with people you actually want to spend time with that is! If not then when things get back to normal plan yourself a holiday! Without the people you do sadly had to spend time with locked up!

Firstly you probably won’t get that, google it! You couldn’t give a toss about the style of bread because your a risk taker, you don’t have time to choose life is short! You have a lot to say but when you meet others, your personality and mouth are on lockdown. You talk a big game, often with little or no idea what you are talking about, full of couch advice and haven’t left your city since….well ever! You are flexible and love being around people. You will be posting at an alarming rate images from your kitchen right now and loving the DM’s in fact that’s the food you really enjoy, self praise is like yeast and you kneed it to rise above the rest. Whilst a lot of people want to give you “to do lists” of things you should be doing while we are all safely inside, it really doesn’t matter what you do or don’t do. Eat what you want, sleep when you sleep but most importantly be happy with what you have. This is possibly the only time in your life that you will be confined to your house, unless you do something wrong and get put on house arrest!
Try and look for the positives and that doesn’t have to be cleaning your house, baking bread or going live on Instagram! but if that makes you happy do that too.
Try and refrain from TikTok and baking bread and constantly sharing! Going live is a huge no no. Ok rest you do you.
Why not spread love and happiness? Go to random accounts on Instagram and share positive messages, imagine how that could make someone’s day! We will be spending an hour a day doing that exact thing ✌🏻💕
By now you probably have spent more time styling your own hair than you have in the last 12 months and it’s only week 2 ( or is it 3? Not sure lost count ). Anyway you can finally see it for what it is, the good, the bad and the ugly but one thing we think a lot of you will realise is what we have been saying for years!
Your natural movement, texture, bend or call it curl is actually beautiful and only needs tweaking with the cut for you to be able to manage it and let it loose in public! Sure it may be desperate for a trim, the ends must be split by now and this may cause the finished look to be a little frizzy but that’s ok.
I guess we all want what we don’t have and if you have curly hair you want it smooth, if you have flat hair you want it full and that’s one of the reasons we are in business ( well not now ). Making the most of what you have is a message that we all have to live with right now being confined to our house, lucky to have a roof over our head and food in the fridge and a phone and Internet to even read this. Truly blessed to have life itself.

With everyone sharing their home food photos at a rate that we have never seen before it has been a “Ah ha” moment for us. Whilst in this house the art of creating food to take you on a journey has prodominantly been done by one, we have collaborated together to launch “The Ghee Spot”. Now whilst this is so popular it’s actually impossible to get a table, in fact we are unsure when bookings will be available.
Apparently it’s hard to find, not bragging but honestly we found it fairly well but be warned guys, you may need help finding it but once you do it will definitely be worth it. With various dishes full of flavour and tenderness will leave you satisfied and take your breathe away like you have nothing you have had before. Whilst on the expensive side for two apparently it’s best to try with 3 or more for a truly new experience.

Just because you eat food, doesn’t make you a foodie
By about now most guys with short hair will be needing a haircut and possibly looking like a something more reminiscent of a zombie movie so what do you do?
Well it would be nice if in a few short words we could teach you to cut every hairstyle ever done or teach you the tricks that took years to learn. What we can suggest is that if you can’t wait then why not shave it off? Certainly isn’t the end of the world, it’s summer coming anyway so it may be a good change, hair grows back!

To be honest I don’t have the products at home to color anyone’s hair pink purple or brown let alone think anyone else that doesn’t do hair would. The best thing to do to get through this lockdown with your hair is nothing. The option is either leave it or shave it off completely, relax hair grows back!
What better time do you need to do something drastic? You can dress it up with various masks and designs and guess what? You don’t have to go out in public for weeks so not anxiety when people gasp or freak out and end up offering an opinion.

For some it’s been a few days for most it’s been a few weeks and whilst we know you are more than likely looking radiant, rested and have applied every face pack that you had in the house. The reality is, by now or in a few days from now your natural color will be shinning through in all its glory, that together with your face mask your phone is possibly not recognising you all the time. It starts like this, few days later Alexa will think your an intruder so it’s time to act now before it’s too late!
We suggest you do absolutely nothing because fixing a bad color ( not saying you won’t do a good job ) can cost double the amount it should! Wait relax less going live on Instagram unless the camera is facing away. Turn off the facial recognition and Chill it won’t be that long!
