Come on it’s 2020 and whilst you may not eat eat, chicken hair is not cool in fact it hasn’t been for a long time! If you are still trying to sport nest hair it may be time to give us a call!
Come on it’s 2020 and whilst you may not eat eat, chicken hair is not cool in fact it hasn’t been for a long time! If you are still trying to sport nest hair it may be time to give us a call!
It’s 2020 and no one likes to waste anything, yesterday’s rice is today’s fried rice and we are all scrambling for a cloth bag to take to the shops to try to do our bit in order not to contribute to the destruction of our planet! Now we like to think of ourselves as resourceful nd o thug like getting two or three looks for the same cost as one right, ever mid the fact that you save your hair from doing too much chemical treatments. So if you have a old color that’s lighter at the ends the why not!
If you don’t have the Ends lighter it’s ok you can make it lighter and color over it to get the POP
If rimming is something you have seen and wanted to do why not give it a shot!
Often we get asked how to fix a hair problem, how much for color on medium length hair, can I color my hair blonde, how to stop frizz and the list goes on. We love answering questions and if we can help we most definitely will, but understand doing it over a text either DM or phone is very subjective, medium length to you doesn’t mean the same as it does for others, lighter to you and lighter to us has a different meaning.
We give free consultations for everyone, you can come in and chat with us about your hair and we will let you know what we think, approx cost and timeline for it. We don’t pressure you into doing it, in fact we are happy just to help you get your hair stress sorted.
So before we can give you a cost or a plan we need to see your hair first. Drop in and show us.
The love of ash blonde or platinum ash grey hair has as possibly always been there are whilst it may appear easy and something that anyone can do it is not for the faint hearted!
There is science behind color I g hair and it’s never about pulling out a box mixing it up and coming back in 30 min. Lightening hair is about understanding the pigments in the hair and knowing how to counteract the ones you don’t want without ruining the hair quality.
We wanted to show you before and after on this challenge which took almost 2 years, Miss X had about 50% grey hair and was naturally dark ( not black but dark brown ) when she went to another salon they coloured her hair black by surprise and of course you could see the white hair grow back in 2 days. Once we met it was maybe shortly after that and she wanted to go lighter but in case you didn’t know, to get black or dark brown out is almost impossible as it has the most red pigment of all colors. Now to go lighter is one thing but to go platinum ash it’s a challenge! Well after about 12 months and not really cutting much off we managed to get to this.
As she didn’t want to cut it off, which would have been easier we kept treating it lighter gently over time and several months later managed to remove 100% of the warm undertones and finally finish it as a pure ash platinum grey hair!
So if you have been wanting to go light then come see us and talk about the process as it’s different from person to person but we will always put the quality of your hair first.
To get a quote we need to physically see your hair, drop in and talk to us for a quote as it frantically varies from hair to hair & person to person.
You look in the mirror and all you see is ugly, well it’s time to change things today!
Good looks starts with personality and although no one believes that it’s actually true!
There are some things you can do that don’t cost money and you can do right now so let’s start.
You maybe cross eyed but a smile makes all the difference.
2. Do something with your hair! Run a comb through it, try washing it or if you really want to go all out get yourself a haircut!
3. Use a moisturizer
4. Have a Yes attitude, nothing is too much trouble. No one likes a person who has “no” on the top of the tongue to whatever the question. Not saying you do something you don’t want to do but simply don’t dismiss every single idea before answering. Be excited to talk and interact with people you meet!
5. Listen to people, like actually listen. No to reply just listen and be interested in what they have to say, nothing is more of a turnoff than someone who doesn’t actually hear a word you say!
Now these sound obvious, which they are but if you do these and follow it everyday who knows what the future holds!
So we all know 2020 has started like part 17 of hunger games and it’s been a challenge to be positive about a lot of things, let’s be honest! But don’t stress because you have all the tools to be able to at least feel good about something. No not talking about getting your hair done, although that will help.
Talking about loving yourself, holding value in who you are, not letting anyone treat you less than you deserve or not thinking you deserve better. It’s one thing to let one small thing slide, it’s another to let it become the normal. Have big expectations of yourself and the interactions you have, if someone or something doesn’t fit into it it may be time to cut it off and move on.
It’s a two way street and if you find that it’s becoming one sided it’s time to take control. Life is too short to hold on to negative or something that’s not working. Could be your long layers, a toxic relationship, a fade diet or just a crappy job it’s time to set higher standards if you want the best life possible!
So you have taught your dog to sit, stay eat on demand amoughst other cool tricks and you are one of those people who likes control in life and yet your bangs are facing north 24/7 and you can’t seem to get them to behave. Can you train hair to move into a different direction?
Now there is several ways to encourage hair to move in certain directions which we will explain.
1. Cutting the hair in a certain way either removing or increasing weight around a certain problem area can encourage change of movement depending on the hair.
2. Product can help, whilst it’s not going to solve it without effort it may help.
3. Hair grows internally ( under your skin and the direction it grows out of your scalp in determined by the direction the root is facing so no amount of tugging or encouragement is going to change it!
4. If you have had a centre part for example for years and suddenly moved it and cut it short. The weight may have pulled the follicle into the centre part over time with the weight of the hair. After several washes 2-3 days the line will be gone.

Everyone talks about being sustainable and we immediately think recycle or creating minimal waste and that is possible the most obvious, good choices that have low impact on our planet and lives. For us whilst being a salon we believe that we can create a low impact whilst making smart micro choices daily.
Some of the things we do are;
We do not offer retail bags, too often most people have a pile of bags sitting at home that simply are carried from shop to car then car to inside the house.
We believe that if something needs to be done with your hair, we will tell you about it but we also believe that if it doesn’t need to be done then we will tell you not to do it also. Too often some people will end up doing things when in fact they don’t need too.
If we as a business can create awareness with staff and our clients in an ethical way they too will adapt to the new normal and in turn it makes a difference.
Colouring hair is an art and can be loads of fun with endless options but for a lot of people trying to cover grey hair the battle seems never ending and can be not only expensive but demanding you visit every few weeks to cover the new white hair growing out! Don’t worry we have a solution for you.
Smudging is the art of taking your color and smudging it into the roots, doesn’t give 100% coverage but it does blend color over the grey eliminating the hard line you typically get from hair touch ups. Now whilst this is not for everyone it is for sure going to help you feel not tied to the fortnightly visits to the salon which will save you time, money and heartache of seeing the solid line growing out everytime you look in the mirror!
If your regrowth is stressing you out then come see us and see if this technique is right for you!
The ritual of doing a hair mask or a face pack in itself sends a message that you are doing your bit of “self care” which makes you feel good but does it do much more than that?
A conditioner typically will say leave on 3-5 minutes and even if it worked instantly ( fyi which most do ) our minds think a few minutes is going to be better, more conditioning. Sadly it doesn’t work like that, it’s instant and whilst you can leave it in longer not much is going to happen if anything. Now a mask is typically a thicker consistency or let’s say stronger product and the same rule applies however leaving it on a few extra minutes makes us all feel like it’s better but in reality 2 minutes or 20 min isn’t going to make a difference.
The majority of hair requires regular Maintainence which if it gets it and even if coloured shouldn’t need much or anything more. Remember prevention is better than cure!
Now if you still want to put that face pack on and a hair mask and sit gossiping to your bff go right ahead because that in itself is therapy for the soul right there!
We aim to be relevant and considering Delhi has its fair share of electricity outages we just like you have been stuck midstream not knowing what to do. It happens eve in the salon, we have battery back up and maybe you do too but if you don’t here are a few tricks to help you not freak out!
If you haven’t yet started styling your hair then all you need to do depending on your hair is the following!
Little serum and possibly a thick leave in conditioner. Pat dry and then apply gently, gently pull into a low pony tail and you are good to go. Don’t make the mistake of trying to shake it dry or you will end up a frizzy mess!
A little leave in conditioner, something light preferably and gently put a scarf on your head making sure not to flatten it too much and wait or head to work then take it off.
This one is fail proof, open your phone, head to what’s app message work saying your sick proceed to Netflix log in head back to bed and chill!
Moving cities or countries can create all kinds of challenges and changes, from where to get the food that you like to finding a doctor that you can trust. Things like water don’t typically land on your radar as a lot of cities or countries you take for granted you can turn on the tap and drink what comes out.
Tap water in northern India has been known to have high levels of Nitrate, fluoride and even Arsenic which is alarming. Now obviously using RO water to shower is most likely unrealistic for most, rinsing your hair after you shower in it is achievable. A little fuss but it may well be worth it when it comes to protecting your hair! It can cause hairfall, dehydration & color fade
Now whilst simply rinsing your hair in filtered water is not going to be as good as showering in glacier water but it most certainly is putting your best efforts into a healthy growth. Also good to remember brushing your teeth and cleansing your face use RO water also.
So the answer is yes, rinse with filtered water 💦
It’s been around for many years, it comes and goes and let’s be honest it’s not for everyone but if you can pull it off, it looks hot!
Business at the front and party at the back haircut also known as “The Mullet” started back in the 80’s and came to the forefront from the band Beastie Boys. It’s pure Rock n Roll but can but softened down depending on your comfort level and hair texture.
Whilst some say it’s out of date and a little too out to be cool, it is in fact cool and we think we will be seeing more of it this year!
It’s fairly common that we are in the position of looking for something we can’t find other than one of your favourite socks you can only find 1 of. The best information comes from friends and friends of friends. Saying that we have to be careful who to listen too as we all have different perspectives, ask someone who eats chilli on everything where is the best place to eat most likely it’s going to be spicy. Ask someone who likes cold weather where to go for a holiday, most likely it’s not going to be the beach and so on, you get the point.
We hear from our clients getting asked by strangers where they get their hair done a lot, which we love hearing it’s the best compliment from complete strangers. Some salons still advertise in a more traditional way and whilst it may work for them we choose not too and spend more time and money doing what we do best.
Sure you can google, you are going to find firstly more than likely the hair salons that spend on google ads or placement or even, discount marketing to try and attract you through money incentives. We don’t do that. If you are searching for great hair, come see us and talk to us about what it is your after, consultations are always free! If you like our vibe we can give you a quote and if your happy with it we can book you in for a time/ day that suits you!
We have all seen it in movies, it looks somewhat romantic even, great for the gram for that Sunday chill and mask but doing this will make your hair frizzy!
It’s true that the way you treat your hair in the moments following washing it contributes to how it behaves for the next day or days! So if we think about flipping our head upside down wrapping it a towel then expecting it to sit nice and smooth in the complete opposite direction, then you’re going to be sadly let down.
Whilst it can be good for a photo it really isn’t going to help with hair frizz in fact make it more frizzy.
The best thing to do after the shower is apply a serum or leave in conditioner/ moisturiser and gently pat your hair. Don’t rub it pat it! The more aggressive you are the more frizz you create, the more torment means the more erratic the hair will behave. Gently move and style.
You see something you like, you save it then dream about one day doing it which is normal and we are totally up for you saving photos as inspiration but your hair is not the same hair as the person in the photo.
If it’s a vibe more than an exact copy then it’s ok but if you are going to want your hair to be exactly the same you may find it challenging given your hair texture, density and the way your hair moves most likely isn’t the same. Now take that alongside your Faceshape being different it can be a mismatch that you need to be aware of.
Don’t panic tho it’s about creating a look that is based on a reference photo not a copy. Keep saving those photos as it’s the best way to explain it to your hairstylist when you visit the salon.
We get asked a lot about how often you should wash your hair, does shampooing your hair daily cause hair fall and what’s the best brand shampoo to use! Here you go, it’s all here!
How often should you shampoo your hair?
This is a very personal question and one that will vary from person to person, season to season. Someone with super long hair in winter will most certainly not want to wash their hair daily and someone with short hair is happy to do it daily in summer, makes sense right? Well the easy answer is this, just like your skin your scalp gets dirt, pollution and oils that need to be removed in order to have a healthy scalp, healthy scalp healthy growth! So it makes sense that you wash it daily! The longer you leave it the more oily and polluted your scalp will become. You wouldn’t wash your face every second or third day then wonder why you have a breakout would you?
When you wash it you notice hair in your hands, this is NOT from the shampoo and it’s 99.9% just naturally occurring hair that is coming out regardless but with the massage effects and rubbing you see it in your hands versus just falling on your shoulders during the day. Now that’s the scalp and condition based on your hair for the hair and not the scalp.
What shampoo is best for you?
That’s like asking what food am I going to like the most, it is different for everyone, while some have thick, coloured, fine thick etc etc. we recommend staying clear of shampoo with sodium laureth sulfate ( the detergent that is added just to add bubbles which is also added to many household cleaners). Apart from that it would depend on your budget and haircare regime. We use Alfa Parf as well as Schwarzkopf shampoo and there are many sulfate free shampoo’s on the market.
Will washing my hair make me bald? There is absolutely no truth in this whatsoever, baldness is fundamentally genetic and in your DNA. For guys you are more prone to hair loss than woman!
Hope that helps
Winter in Delhi is dry and both skin and hair can take a beating and end up feeling rough and frizzy from lack of moisture. There are a lot of products that can help boost moisture content but prevention is better than cure! Follow these tips for hydrated hair.
Always condition regardless of your hair or scalp being oily or not, it’s about closing the cuticle you make sure moisture doesn’t evaporate.
Use a heat protection serum, helps lock in moisture and keep the cuticle closed.
Leave in conditioner depending on your hair type as to what brand but start with something light and work your way towards heavier if needed.
Regular trims remove split ends hence making sure they don’t travel upwards.
Don’t over style your hair, yes we know it’s cold but if your not going out it may be a good idea to just let it dry naturally in front of the heater.
This is a good start, remember not to overdo color it can be an easy trap thinking it’s freaking it up when in fact it may not need color rather just a health check. Best to come see us and discuss what can be done to help you look your best during winter!
Last year we had a lot of interesting colors and while some will spill over to 2020 some we should leave behind or at least we hope so! We are entering a time of self reflection and don’t want to be burdened with trips to the hair salon every few weeks to make sure you look fresh! Gone are the days that you need or should be masking the odd white hair to look a certain way.
Colors in for 2019 but out for 2020
Ombré, let’s be honest it wasn’t cool for a while and whilst a lot still love it, it can be a tad tacky. This trend evolved once people with solid colors let it grow out, after several months it started to look good and boom that’s how it all started!
Stripey highlights, never cool unless it’s 1990 and then in fact wasn’t that cool but hey it was the 90’s so you just had to go with it!
Balayagè is one of those color trends that we believe will last a lot longer, it’s move from bold to more subtle is a sign of the gloss that everyone is seeking with their hair, it’s about creating depth and variation using lighter freehand selected pieces hand crafted throughout the last 2/3rds of your hair. It is super low Maintainence and isn’t harsh on the hair so it leaves it healthy and is not going to compromise condition at all
So if you are looking for hair that’s 2020 and isn’t going to destroy the months if not years of growing it out then relax because trend now is soft and shine, could be a block color that is not so far fetched from your natural color or a soft balayage that just gives a shine through reflective variation.
It’s one thing to know what you want, you have the perfect picture in your head and you know exactly how you want your hair to be. It’s another thing to explain it when it comes time sitting in the salon.
Communication has to be one of the worlds most underrated skills that can cause incredible damage or create the most beautiful relationships and if it all works it’s amazing!
Words like, splicing, texturising, graduated, choppy, tapered, subtle, bold, feathered, blunt or asymmetric can all sound Japanese if you don’t know and why should you it’s not your job right? Well your right, it’s your role when going to the salon to explain how you feel about your hair and how you want it to look after all. We know the biggest complaint in most hair salon visits is that the hairdresser didn’t get it and that’s why we believe the consultation is the most important part of our relationship as a hair salon.
Tips to get it right!
Firstly choosing both the right hair salon is key, asking around, friends you like their hair and then going in for a consultation is one of the best ways to check out the vibe and communication you get with the hairstylist is very important.
Secondly have some reference images of the past that you loved your hair and a dream picture of how you would love your hair to be.
If you have no intention of blowdring it yourself then be honest and say that, because honesty is the best policy when it comes to setting yourself for a win during the salon visit!
Yes we do free consultations to anyone who would like to come and discuss hair we are more than happy to talk and help you understand what’s possible with absolutely no strings attached.

Pony tails and top-knots can be a struggle to get perfect every time, it’s an art but there is an easier way that most good hairstylists use that can make the process fool proof so here goes, it’s easy so don’t stress!
Ok so you need open elastic, approx 45cm ( you can get it from a craft store or search on Amazon ). You need an extra pair of hands and a cushion brush.
Step 1. Brush your hair up and hold it in your hands whilst your friend watches, brush it into place making sure you maintain holding the hair the entire time.
Step 2. Once it’s all brushed and tightly held in your hand, get your friend to wrap the elastic around the base underneath your hand and wrap it around twice tightly and tie in a knot.
Step 3. Cut off loose ends
Step 4. Take small section out from underneath and wrap around base of ponytail to hide elastic, secure with a fine pin!
We all seem to have such big expectations of ourselves for a new year and why not! We should be getting better both personally and professionally. It’s not good enough to say or accept your past as part of who you are, be better learn and grow.
A fantastic way to start a new version of you is to start with the easiest thing, your hair!
Give us a call 01141010011 let us help you make the first step! Make 2020 awesome
Well yes we know it’s only day 2 but you are already asking what’s new and while nothing changes overnight hair color for 2020 is more about shine that actual color. Creating depth, using lighter tones to highlight with the sun or lack of actually right now!
It’s not about always being dramatic rather creating a soft element of variation that’s easy to wear, super low maintanence and sexy! It helps give the illusion of more hair plus doesn’t affect condition long term!
Get yours today!
So what are you doing? You said gym, fries before guys and you were going to get something fresh so we are waiting to see something change, a little movement a sign.
Change your shell! Don’t be a boring crab 🦀
