What is causing your hair to fall

You all wonder what causes hairfall and most of you ( or us I should say ) think at some point in our life that your going bald overnight and there has to be a cure! There are a lot of triggers for increase hair fall and almost all have nothing to do with using a ” Hair Fall” shampoo! In the majority of cases we see it’s internal and has very little to do with outside factors, although outside factors can play a part in hair fall it’s not going to be the main cause typically.

We have seen a big increase in people who have gone on diets like Keto, experience dramatic hair loss due to the body going into shock or dramatic stress in our body causing the hair root to go into a resting stage ( called telogen effluvium ). We have to weigh up the pro’s and con’s when it comes to dramatic dieting. Our bodies can be tricked into thinking it’s in starvation mode and start burning the stored fat you have been trying to get rid of since New Years 2003.

It’s always advisable to gather solid evidence and research anything you plan on doing before relying on an instagram page of success because you will always find something to support whatever you want to find. Before you decide to shock your system into a weight loss frenzy get some good advice from a doctor or qualified nutritionist! It’s always better to have healthy habbits and be consistent rather trying a quick fix, our bodies are a sensitive eco system and need to be respected like it.

Keep in mind it’s interesting to know that you can also experience increase hair fall in the following situations!

  • Changing your diet from unhealthy to healthy
  • When you relocate, water conditions dramatically have an effect on hair loss. Relax it will settle.
    • Less sleep
    • Change of seasons
    • Medication
    • Drug use
    • Menopause
    • After surgery or heavy dosage of antibiotics
    • Increase of stress levels like death in family, divorce or a relationship breakup
  • So before doing anything weigh up your choices, maybe a more slow approach to dieting is more healthy than a quick fix. Hair loss for most people is normal 50-100 hairs a day but remember 50-100 long hairs looks like 3,000 so be realistic and understand washing it doesn’t cause hairfall it’s just when you are most likely to see them all collectively together in one place….. the shower drain!
