Opening a business is one thing most people can do, doesn’t have to be big in fact can be a roadside food cart it’s not that difficult. But creating a brand is another and having the DNA of that brand run true is hard work and not always sexy.
When you start out, it’s basically just you and maybe another person who start it together and you are both full of ideas, then along comes others opinions and ideas of what you should be doing. They all tell you what you should do ( rarely do they have any experience ) and they offer opinion every moment they get. Consumers will happily tell you and in abundance too.
Rarely do you find a brand ( not just a logo ) that speaks the true DNA of the brand or founders message. It’s hard not to be pulled into the vortex of towing the line and doing what everyone else does in fact it’s tiring. But we as a brand are young at heart, love laughing mostly at ourselves and love making people feel & look good. We do this in an unfiltered way, using sex, art, architecture, design, culture, sexuality and humour!
We don’t do mani pedi, not today and it’s not our intention to ever doing it, we are a hair salon! We don’t specialise in bridal hair, we possibly never will, can we do beautiful updo…yes we can! We do hair, it’s a hair salon. We dont do make up, we do hair.
As we said, it’s easy to create a logo and do what everyone else does, we choose to be individual and do what we actually love doing, hair!
Its Friday night, the second most sought after in terms of expectations for excitement for the week! No one should screw with it right but after a week of hell in the office, pressure from family, bills etc etc the last thing you could be bothered with is going out and putting on a. happy face!
You would much prefer to go home, collapse in bed fully dressed with your makeup on and possibly wake up at some stage over the weekend feeling refreshed. Apparently studies show that getting your hair done makes you feel 68% more rested and relaxed, well who believes these studies anyway right? Like how on earth does anyone get 68% figure out of it, not like we disagree in fact we agree with it but just saying.
Why not head to the salon and get a blow out, look good feel good this weekend, don’t add anxiety to it and make sure you come to us
A lot of people peak there motivation for 12 months between 12.01am on the 1st January to about lunchtime on 2nd then go back into the same habbits both mentally as well as physically. Different people say different things about how long it takes to create intention into a habit and reform behavior but I guess we are all human and it’s easy to just think F#%* it whatever.
If your feeling like crap,be it your stupid boss, your crappy boyfriend or girlfriend or just simply aren’t feeling it then a visit to the salon for a little makeover and a change may be just the answer.
If your bed has two sides we suggest you push it up against the wall so youbonoy get out of the right side and keep your salon visits to every 6 weeks that way your setting yourself up for success!
A salon visit for some can create high anxiety especially if you haven’t been there before or if you have had a not so pleasant experience sitting in a chair. Obviously we need to point out here that prior research on experience is your best bet, however if you have curly hair then you will be more anxious for sure as it needs a little more TLC to make sure the curl sits right.
Not everyone has a good understanding of hair movement when it has curl ( in fact a lot of salons pride themselves still in making it straight ) so you need to find the right person and have an in depth discussion on your expectations and find out if your living in a fairytale or if it’s in fact a possibility.
3 Red Flags that should send you running out of salon
They tell you to do keratin or rebonding If this is the first option then run. We should be looking for options that embrace your natural movement and curl not just by changing the texture using chemicals.
They want to cut it wet! Hairwet anddry has a completely different texture and finish, it behaves differently so therefore needs to be cut in its natural state ( dry )
They want to use hairspray Curly hair especially should not have products which have alcohol in them you should be using creme’s, serum’s and moisturiser. It’s about boosting up the moisture levels.
Remember curly hair revolves around the moisture levels in it, the more moisture in the air the better the curl, hence most people with curly hair love living close to the ocean.
So when your doing your research for your hair make sure to sit and discuss your hair with your potential stylist prior to getting them to cut it.
Guys tend to be lazy and lets be honest we do not invest the same amount of time or planning as woman do, clearly we are not as smart or well planned but times are changing! There is really no excuses that we blokes can sit back and think its fine not to make sure that your hair or grooming can be below average or at best average, no one is attracted to average other than other average people!
We think its about time that guys started spending more time and thought on there hair to change it up a little and stop looking so basic! Here are some cool ideas for you as we know you wont bother reading you simply want pictures so here goes!
But if you think this is too short and you want to look a little bit more rockstar here you go!
I suggest you make some time and head into the best salon and get a proper consultation on what you want, what would work and how to manage it!
