Are you staring at your hair screaming it does not grow any faster? Maybe, now you are blaming your genes or that new product you tried. Well, we all find it very frustrating when our hair doesn’t seem to grow at a normal space. Where you have been waiting months to get that perfect length, so you can try a different look, but your hair simply won’t listen!

Let’s go through some easy steps to help your hair grow faster. If you have paid attention in your school you’ll know the benefits of a good diet, if you have done all your research then that’s great, but for those who have been too busy, let me simplify it!

Have proper quantity of Omega 3 fatty acids, like salmon, avocados, nuts and olive oil in your diet. Protein also helps with hair loss, so make sure you are having eggs with your toast in your morning breakfast, a proper diet should have a good dose of Vitamin E and Vitamin C. It is equally important to have your veggies along with fruit in your regular diet. Yes, I mean it!

Few tips

Make sure you never use a brush straight out of the shower, as your hair is very brittle during that time and it can tear or break easily, use a wide tooth comb.

Get your regularly trims to avoid split ends. Yes, ironically scissors can be of help in this case. If you don’t trim off the damaged hair then it will travel up and create more drama.

Eat a balanced diet

Get at least 8 hours of sleep

Lastly, don’t stress so much, you’ll only lose your hair, and that won’t be of any help.

BE A REBEL

From birth we have been feed by one notion of beauty; the fair maiden with long locks, a much more feminine perception which has defined how we see ourselves and others for a long time. It was not long ago when tall, dark girls with manly or strong features were considered unattractive (especially in a place like India, the notions of beauty is still primitive), sometimes I don’t understand this medieval concept of beauty that has been passed down to us, it makes it so easy to stigmatise someone as ugly or beautiful. Thank god, we are not a part of that generation were people do not embrace their individuality and try to be the same as everyone. I believe, there is nothing more powerful than a woman who feels confident and comfortable in expressing herself, and breaks free from these stigmas’s. They help us evolve and change our notions of BEAUTY that we have been stuffed with for ages. I still remember my grandma saying ‘I looked like a boy as a kid’, I won’t be surprised if many of us have such stories to share.

But then we have the rule breakers like, 18 year old model, Katie Moore, whose amazing transformation from ‘the girl next door’ with long blonde hair to blunt bob, copper orange hair did not only change her look but also her career. (WE LOVE this little Punk) This shows how notions of beauty is changing and evolving constantly.

Grimes

Recently, Stella McCartney newest Pop fragrance campaign’s latest face was none other than Madonna’s teenage daughter, Lourde Leon, who is now sporting her new pastel hair for this amazing campaign, one kid who really loves to push it, from grey to pastels. Maybe, that’s what makes us adore Lourde. Before her, we had our Instagram feed exploding with pictures of the multimedia artist and musical powerhouse Grimes, with her Pink punk look, shooting for this new ad campaign. What we love about these young women is – they are not afraid to be who they are; strong-willed, free spirited and independent. Beauty is a constant evolution and you have to love the skin you’re in.

Be a rebel, if you can’t be conventional, than be anti. How you look is how you feel, don’t be scared of expressing yourself. Don’t worry, go pink or green, blue whatever you want to. Chop it off or shave it. Yeah, it might shock your parents or teachers, but honestly, we don’t care.  After all, this generation celebrates the weird and wonderful; it’s always good to be different.

Marc  Jacobs

Baby Bangs – From models slaying SS16 Fashion week, to celebrities, to the trendy girl living next door to you, or in Rod’s case in the same house, short Bettie Page bangs are all the rage this season.  This style gives your face a fresh look and highlights your facial features. Keeping’ short messy bangs will never fail to add some edge, plus you don’t have to worry about hair coming on your face.

DOLCE & Gabbana

Hair Accessories – SS16 saw the rise of hair accessories like never before. This season is all about getting your crowns out and wearing it like a ‘queen’. Simple accessories like metallic clips, or regal crowns that rocked the runaway at Dolce & Gabbana, it’s time to spend a little on hair accessories this season. But most importantly put some thought into it and don’t be mainstream!

SLEEK PONYTAILS – Who doesn’t  love this one? Straight hair left loose, or tied up into low, sleek ponytails (easy as shit). We saw models at Chanel rocking this look with simple accessories, if you want to soften the edges, you can “Dior” it up from the  runaway  by tying it low with a ribbon, be bold.

Ruth Bell, we all have been crushing hard on this babe.

BUZZ CUT – The biggest (and boldest) cut of the season is the buzzcut! Only for the brave, if you have been dying to get a drastic make over and you have the right personality and attitude to pull it off, this look will change it all. When the temperature is boiling hot, time to SHAVE IT OFF! For some its the only choice they have, for many its a statement.

CHOKER HAIR – We saw an influx of this style throughout fashion week, hair tucked into scarves and chokers, one look you can get really creative with, using chokers, to scarf’s to tuck in your hair. Perfect for a bad hair day or for times when you’re running out of time to style your hair, just tuck it in! For the Christopher Kane show you can also re use the plastic ties if anyone annoys you on the metro too!

Who knew zip ties could be cool?

Hair off the Runway

Well as the fashion weeks travel the globe for 20 16 here is a snap shot of the hair and our inspiration, certainly we have to say there is a clear direction into lived in hair that is loose and airy and a lot of braids which we love! I have to say on a personal level Alberta Ferretti at Milan fashion week which had that medieval sensuality about it ( a little copper wire and a clear vision you can either fix your car radio or create the next look for a A list designer 🙂 , effortless and connected to the look completly!

On and off the runway its very clear that braiding is here ( yes still I hear a lot of you saying! ) I’m sure it didn’t do any harm with Kim K sporting hers regularly over the last few months. Easy to try and easy to do, for those of you who are handy with your fingers ( doing things other than texting ) give it a go! If your all thumbs i suggest getting yourself into the salon and letting the pro’s give it a go!

I can feel a braid bar coming
