Pantene were on the search for the countries strongest hair for a get together with Priyanka Chopra and who else but our own main main Rod to help find the right heads of hair!

From Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Mumbai the finalists are now selected. There was vast variation in hair quality throughout the country but if I could offer everyone the same advice is regular trims every 6-8 weeks says Rod.

This removes any split ends that are appearing and will help you maintain length and condition.

Pastel eyebrow porn

From the runways to well planned fashion editorials, colouring eyebrows is not a new thing. We have seen many times models bleaching them white so they look like they done have any or you doing yours black because it makes them look thicker.

But now there is pastel eyebrow porn, yeah we don’t see it becoming a trend that will be hitting the streets anytime soon but you never know.

We like to keep you up to date with what’s going on, often it’s nonsense but hey some days there is a lot and other days it’s like reporting a cat rescue story. That’s life

Is you pillow breeding bacteria?

You use it everyday, for some only a few hours and most 8-10 hours a day yet you most probably only wash it once or twice a week.

Safe to say you should wash your pillow case every second day, using a satin pillow case is also recommended to reduce friction on the hair which can cause damage.

If you are putting your head on the pillow ( which is most likely ) you must make sure it’s clean or bacteria will breed and cause scalp irritation.

Not having black hair could save your life!

We are here to inform, educate and help you live with beautiful hair!

Be warned, that having hair that is the same color as your stove top can get you toasted literally!

Choose your hair color only at professional salons.

When you were told it would fade

There are moments that a little fade is normal and expected, hair has the capacity at times to retain color if the condition is right and Maintainence is sorted.

Then there are times when fading is not acceptable. Now with so many so called Beauty experts, beauty bloggers, mothers and grandmothers it’s hard to know who to listen too or who to trust and depending on who you ask or at what time as to the answer you get.

We like to think of ourselves as experts and I guess studying for 4 years full time to call ourselves “Hairstylists” gives us the right to tell you what to believe. It’s not a gage of who knows best but if the color is meant to be done by hairstylists one would imagine that they know how it should be maintained?

A few things to consider to prevent your color from fading

  • The depth and longevity of your color is determined amoungst other factors varied on the condition and color your colouring over ( if it’s been bleeched white, you can not expect the hair to hold the same as natural hair for example )
  • Your shampoo has to change, SLS & Parabin free shampoo has been around for years, it’s not a fad nor are the benifits a myth. We use Alfa Parf which there range is SLS free
  • Never use OIL NEVER EVER! Coats your hair, heats up hair and causes it to become brittle and color will fade.
  • Always condition!
  • Trim every 6-8 weeks
  • Don’t go over the ends every time (only when it needs it and that would be like once a year!)
  • Water quality & Chlorine from swimming plays a large part in it also so try to avoid hard water and pools or better still put it in a cap and use a little uv protection to help chemical absorbing.

299 Everything on the menu!

We all want a bargain, we want to walk away thinking we got something cheaper than it’s worth, regardless if we do t need it, regardless of quality. Sadly there are some who literally don’t care if they need it or not but just want it because it’s cheap or free!

Well we don’t do discounts, we don’t do deals, packages, red light specials, promo and we also don’t try and sell you our entire menu just so we can create an even increase in our company  sales meeting PDF.

We specialise in both color correction as well as cutting correction and we see a lot ( like a LOT) of people who come with hair that has been given treatments/services they simply didn’t need. When we take the time to talk to them the majority already know they didn’t need it and in fact it would have been cheaper if they came to us in the first place as we don’t mind saying ” you don’t need that done”. Instilled in our Culture is if someone is better off with something than without it, then tell them.  If they don’t need it, tell them. If it’s bad for the hair, tell them. Honesty build trust, builds loyalty and above all build a long term trust and friendship with beautiful hair and that’s our only purpose!

So before you order everything just because it’s cheap or a “deal” the best thing you could do would be find out if you even need it first. It’s not cheap if it A. Ruins your hair B. You don’t need it.

When you thought you were getting fine highlights!

No matter how much research you put into it, you have to match the image in your head, to the best stylist that understands what that image looks like. We talk about it a lot, we practise it daily yet we also get people coming in daily with disasters and we all wonder why it keeps happening.

Highlights that make you look like a zebra have been out of fashion since the the 90’s and whilst fashion is individual, if this is the opposite to what you want it’s not right. So how do you get those nice fine highlights you have pinned on Pinterest or Instagram? Well there is no easy answer or anything foolproof but you have to do your bit and get all the references you can to make sure you can show the stylist.

Choose a salon that you know someone who has been there, honestly it’s the best advertisement, make sure they insist on a indepth consultation and ask for images or offer them to you!

Just dropping in and getting a random color at any salon is not a good idea, one bad color can destroy your hair and really F#%{ your happiness!

Consultations are free, 100% of salons worldwide! Drop in and have a chat and find the one your most comfortable with!

We are trained for all types of coloring and maintain an internationally updated training, from pastel coloring to the latest techniques around the globe as well as our own developed we love talking hair and most of all listening to what would float your boat!

When your part is your hairline

When is it time to actually say goodbye?

When do you stop fighting with nature and just cut it off?

Now considering a lot of men hold on to their hair as if it’s the last line of defence in a war on manliness we have to at times ( us guys ) realize that enough is enough and it’s really not looking natural anymore. There come a point when everyone can see what your trying to do and by you combing it over makes it more obvious and you need to stop!

Yes you could go down the hair transplant road, use the black powder ( topic ) which make you look like your trying to be 25 but your more like 85 even tho your 40. Being real is more valuable and more attractive than being fake anyway and whilst it may feel weird loosing your hair, it will be in fact liberating to just say f%# it and shave it off!

If your getting to the end of the line and it may be time to stop either coloring it black ( because you think it looks thicker ) or comb it over from the back or sides to cover it then it’s time to re-evaluate the entire thing and get some options. We are here for you, come sit and chat about how you can become the ultimate chic magnet and save money and time in the process!

How to stay in bed another 30 min every day

This generation seem to sleep less and are more in touch with everything everywhere, but when it comes to getting out of bed we all need or maybe want an extra 20-30 min extra if we are honest!

So how to do it?

Well it sounds so basic you may want to skip to end but it’s really simple.

Hair grows in certain ways on various parts of your hair, it falls in a certain direction, creating bumps, waves and weight in a way that is unique to you and your hair! No two heads are the same!

We cut hair both wet and dry, not just the act of  washing it or not washing it but it is the way we can predict the movement long after you have left the salon and are home alone on a Saturday night trying to get ready.

Now before you go book yourself into your local salon please understand this, just cutting your hair dry will never ever ever be the same. It is a science of hair movement that we train on and takes years to understand as well as having the correct tools.

If the hair is cut correctly there is no need for constant blow outs, unless your planning a more formal look or just want to treat yourself.

So now you don’t have to worry about your hair as much in the mornings and you can sleep in a little.

A hairy wedgie?

Ever seen some pants, dress or top that you love and thought you just had to have it and been too lazy to try it on before you buy it?

Just like your hair, a cut or color is not just a cut and color there is a huge difference between good bad and just plain wrong! If your blessed enough not to have experienced hideous congratulations, but if you have then maybe you understand that it’s not a product but a service. To get it right takes skill, understanding of what your after and a realistic approach ( sometimes it’s just not possible on certain hair ). So before you get sucked into people selling a haircut like it’s a litre of milk check first because the difference between that pair of pants that is giving you a wedgie and a bad haircut, you can return the pants!

Why we don’t want your coconuts

We are writing this, because everyone who knows hair will tell you it’s wrong, every ones who thinks they know hair will tell you it’s great!

Coconut oil is an oil, oil and water don’t mix right? Right

Hair is dead keratin? Right

If hair is dead and growing hair is inside our body, oil doesn’t soak in does it? No it doesn’t

The hair is made up of three layers? True

Oil residue is left every time you apply oil in the cuticle layer even if you wash it several times? Correct

Putting oil on your hair will make it shinny? True

Putting oil on your hair will

  • Dehydrate the internal structure
  • Coat the hair and cause internal moisture to evaporate
  • Make your hair feel like concrete
  • Leave your hair limp
  • Possibly cause hair loss due to change of ph level of your scalp

All the above are facts! So before putting any oil on your hair or head think twice if you want healthy hair. If it’s a condition problem then use alternatives like linseed treatment by Alfa Parf or if your hair is that damaged Olaplex.

Oil is for cooking not for your hair!

Swipe right it’s a match!

We have all heard the word “cash” far too much in the last few months and we can all sit and debate it for the next 12 but we can all agree finally more people accept cards!

In fact we not only love working with cars more, we encourage it! Saves time sending people to wait in a que everyday and since we do all our payment on line it makes total sense.

So before you pull out cash, do yourself a favor and us and pay card!

Length wohi Rakho.. Papa marenge

Picture this you have grown your hair for the last decade and you have decided to get a change!

You stroll into your salon and blurt out ” I want a change, don’t cut the length, I don’t want color, I like the curl, I don’t have much time and only have 200 rupees” !

Now stop, re read the above and ask yourself if that is more of a scene from a comedy show or likely to happen?

It’s one thing to have a wish list, it’s another to be in denial, some things are just not realistic or even possible. You don’t have to spend a fortune on your hair, in fact often less than what you expect!

Btw this is what ” I want three layers looks like”!

Get onto Pinterest or Instagram and get some inspiration and done in and have a discussion and let’s create a realistic plan.

Time to start talking head!

So today is a new day girls and yesterday was all about girl power because it was International woman’s day but today is a new day! A fresh start, a day to start thinking different.

We want you to invest the time and energy you put into your every expanding shoe collection into your hair, yes no more shoes only hair! Head to toe not toe too, then the conversation stops!

Imagine if your hair had that attention for even a week?! Start pinning, start posting and get yourself a lust list for your hair!

Holi Sh^#

So there is several ways to get a little color in your hair, you can choose to spend hours getting it done, or you can go to a Holi party and have it totally destroyed in seconds looking like a Unicorn on ice!

It’s ok it’s a natural color and washes out, it will do no harm? Seriously that is so far fetched it’s not funny, it stains and on blonde hair will be almost impossible to get it out, it stains better than any color be it paint or lipstick once it’s there good luck getting it out!!

Can you put anything on it to prevent it from staining your perfect blonde…. easiest answer is NO, you can soak it in oil, mask, a styling paste, gel etc etc but I assure you it will still find a way to get through and ruin your hair. You can wear a scarf but when water is added and coloured powder meet then it will go through all material so the easiest suggestion is avoid the random throwing of coloured powder if you love your color, if you don’t mind looking like a unicorn 🦄 for a while then go for it!

Best to get a pre Holi treatment like Alfa Parf linseed treatment which will close the cuticle tightly which will help reduce color absorbing.

Pants off

We don’t believe in celebrating Womans day today, we celebrate everyday by embracing the unique way each woman wants to express herself!

Pants off, pants on, loose too, no top, long dress short dress the choice is yours we love and respect you every day!

Respect woman everyday do not judge on what is worn rather than the person they are.

I want you home by 5 and grown your hair!

It’s a sad situation that in a world that can send a human to the moon we think it’s ok to dictate to another human how to wear there hair! Ironically If your in prison or in the Army then I guess you should be told what to do with “your” hair but if your in a relationship I really doubt anyone on planet earth should think they have the right to tell you how to wear your hair!

Don’t cut it too much my husband will go crazy!

I would think most people in the world who respect themselves would consider this mental & emotional abuse. To think that one person who is meant to love you, will suddenly stop loving you ( or dictate there view with consequences if not followed ) is simply crazy and depressing!

When we have clients in the salon that say “I would love to cut it short but I can’t, what to do” our reply is cut it short! People should be free to wear there hair, long, short, color or no color as they wish without fear from persecution from anyone especially people who are meant to be there for you unconditionally.

Give me something yummy!

When it comes to explaining what look your after be it a color or a cut it can be very difficult, we have heard it all!

Some discriptions include ( actual conversations)

  • I want a really yummy color
  • I want it rich, not dark, not light, not red but not flat
  • It should look sporty, casual but still formal
  • Don’t cut the length, the layers and I don’t want bangs or to change the color but it has to look 100% different
  • I want to wash it and not do anything but it should be exactly like this photo ( shows a photo from a Chanel campaign) and I don’t want to use anything on it!
  • I want it to look like sex
  • Has to match everything in my wardrobe.
  • I want the color to be seen, not by everyone especially not my parents.
  • I want it to be very light but the roots can’t grow out dark ( this one was hard to keep a straight face 😐)
  • I know I have black hair but I want it white, I only have 30-40 min.

And the list goes on!

We know it’s hard to explain something that is in your head better than anyone else, we know the right questions to ask, the right questions not too and the references to get your taste buds wet! Getting a feeling or an image out of your brain is what we do and what we train on so you will know the difference between average and the best hair you have ever had!

How to talk hair like a boss!

For a lot of people they know what they want but can’t explain it, we decided to make things easier and give you the lowdown on the basic hairdresser coloring terms to help you describe the images in your mind. There will always be a different version of most things when it comes to describing something that you can’t physically see. Color charts ( or shade cards ) are possibly the worst guide to color ever as it’s not hair so it’s an instant misconception on result, shine, tone etc.

We always spend more time to make sure the depth, tone, reflect and undertone of any color is discussed firstly so everyone has a clearer picture of the end result.

Let’s look at some terms used in a salon and break them down

Global color or base color

This is a color applied to your entire head of hair, can be done by itself or st the same time as highlights or foils.

Warm &  cool tones

Warm colors refer to red, gold &a copper whilst cool tones are violet ash and flat blondes or browns.

Brassy

Sadly we all have the friend who thinks she is blonde but it’s more like Garfield orange. That’s brassy.

Ombré

Now whilst Donald Trump recently referred this technique to some bad gangsters in the USA ( Donald Trump speech ) it is in fact the blending of one color on the roots to a soft transition to another color on the ends without a visable line.

Dip dyed

Just like the name suggests it’s like getting your hair and dipping it in a bucket of color.  It’s bold.

Ballayage

This is a freehand technique the hair artist uses to create a very natural shift of color throughout the head, it’s random, it can be done with multiple colors and it’s low Maintainence. Beware it should be done by a very trained colorist.

Part line highlights

As the name suggests it’s highlights just on the Partline, can also be called crown lights, tiara highlights, halo highlights and few more but you get the gyst. Can be done by itself or in between when your full head of highlights need doing when the bank balance only allows part payment.

Hair Spa vs Hair Treatment

Well most people think of a certain brand when they think of the term “hair spa” let’s make things basic.  Hair spa is basically conditioner or a mask like product, a nice massage and maybe some steam. A treatment is a product that repairs on a cellular level, typically isn’t about massage but can include however is irrelevant to the end result.

Toner

This is quite simply the adjustment of the tone of your color, used when going lighter to reduce or deposit certain tones. If your hair is brassy then ( depending on how bad it is! ) this could be the right thing for you.

Now here are a few really common things we get asked or told ( no seriously we do )

I don’t need a full cut just a quick trim, is it cheaper?

I don’t want a lot cut off just the ends!

The color you did 4 weeks ago has grown out! Was it permanent ( as she points out the line which new hair color is showing )

I just had it trimmed 3 months ago it doesn’t need cutting. ( should be every 6 weeks )

Dont leave the color on too long or it will be too dark. ( color is chosen and mixed and timing has zero link to depth of color )

Don’t use conditioner it makes my hair fall out. ( we still hear this in the salon all the time. Conditioner makes your hair smooth hence the loose hair in your mane will slide out regardlessly )

So it’s best to have the right picture references possibly 2-3 together with your correct verbiage.

Consultations are always free so drop into any professional salon and get an idea of what they can do.
