THINGS YOU COULD BE DOING WRONG WHILE BRUSHING YOUR HAIR!
How many of us have been brushing their hair 100 times a day?
If yes, polite applause to your dedication, and sorry as no one can bring back the time you have wasted doing that. I know, we all love the idea of sitting in front a mirror and brushing our gorgeous hair like the Victorian times (P.S. if you’re living with you’re bae, this habit would annoy the heck out of him Lol). But the present generation hardly has time to eat their lunch, let alone brushing your hair like a ghost of the past. Plus, we are too smart in getting our facts right to fall for such habits. This age old myth isn’t just useless, but it could also harm your hair, brushing harshly and frequently is bad for your hair as it pulls hairs out of their follicles and it can possibly weaken individual strands.
Method: (This will seriously help) We all are use to brushing our hair from roots to our tips in autopilot, did you know this can cause excessive stress on the hair leading to breakage and hair fall? The Right way to do it is to begin brushing from the ends, and slowly working your way up the shaft in sections. You can also use your fingers to gently de-tangle knots. Worst case scenario, if you have practically lived your hair in a bun for days, you might need a lot more time in doing that my friend.
NEVER EVER brush your hair when it’s wet, unless you want to go bald. Wet is far more elastic than dry hair, due to which it is more fragile and can easily snap. If you have been getting heart attacks looking at your hair fall, this might be one of the reasons. De-tangle it before you wash.
Don’t use paddle brush to de-tangle you hair, always use a wide-tooth comb and a de-tangling product to reduce hair fall. And yes, price matters in case of your brush, as cheap brushes have low-quality plastic bristles that can rip damaged hair at its weak points. Stop saving at the cost of your hair, instead, cut down on your junk food and get yourself a good brush.
Lastly, just as important it is to clean your hair, it is also very important to clean your brushes regularly, at least once a week. With time the bristles get clogged with stray hair and dirt. When you use your unwashed brush on freshly cleansed hair, you are actually depositing product residue onto your strands. Yes, for those who do it once a year, HEAR THIS OUT LOUD.
